The set consists of 1 steel handle with a thumb latch, 1 iron mortise cylinder plate, 1 bronze knob, 1 steel knob plate, 1 steel thumbturn, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 brass mortise cylinder with 5 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, a 2-piece spindle to connect the knob, and 11 of the 15 original installation screws. The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. All steel parts have a great"hammered" texture. Which was popularized during the Arts& Crafts movement of the early 1900's. At the point of salvage. All of the parts were painted black and white, and were dirty and rusty. ... moreThe black paint was applied by the manufacturer when they made the parts, and the white was added by the former owners. During the cleaning process, we completely removed the white paint, and took off some of the black paint as well. You could always repaint them if you like, or keep them with their new, unique, silver/black finish. The center of the knob is pushed out a bit. And there are a couple of subtle dents around it, however, these blemishes just make it look more like the rest of the parts of the set. Otherwise, All parts are in excellent condition with only a few, light nicks and scratches here and there-typical wear for hardware this old. Otherwise there are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. We opened, inspected, and sprayed grease on and around all internal parts of the mortise lock to facilitate their movement. This is a wonderful set of Brushed Stainless Steel( I think that is what they are) door knobs. They have matching rosettes and are brass on the inside. They have been used but have very minor nicks on the knobs. The diameter of the knob is about 2" and the backers are about 2 1/2" in diameter. They are heavy and are in very good condition. Antique sets salvaged from Eastern Michigan. Each set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with cast brass faceplate and 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 steel spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs. Originally. The knobs, escutcheons, and strike plates were brass plated. However, some of the brass wore off over the years, leaving the parts with a nice, distressed, finish. The amount of brass plating ... morevaries from part to part(see"Group Photos" to compare) All of the locks are reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage NOS Art Deco Brass/Steel Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Elegant. Vintage, door set made by"P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT. It consists of 2 knobs, 2 stamped escutcheons, 1 steel lock with a brass faceplate and working key, 1 strike plate for the door jamb, 1 spindle and 2 setscrews to connect the knobs, and 8 screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door. The knobs and plates are brass plated steel, and all of the plating is intact. All parts except for the lock were salvaged from South Central Pennsylvania. The parts were found in their original box(see last photo) And are considered, New Old Stock, which means that they were made a long time ago but were never used. Without a lock, the set was incomplete, so we included one from our collection. A really nice vintage set and what a unique key it has when hooked together the knobs are 5 inches long and the knob itself is 2 inches the lockbox approximately 3 3/4 by 3 inches and is 1/2 inch thick. they key is 3 1/2 inches long. the striker plate is 3 1/2 by 1/2. I am not a home remodeler in any fashion so if you need additional measurements please ask before bedding. thank you!
