Item description Antique P. F. Corbin bronze entry door lock. The general pattern of this lock was highly successful for Corbin. This set is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with only the typical signs of wear and use. Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole ... morecover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. The large door plate is 7 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" wide. The knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter. The round escutcheon is 2 1/8" in diameter, the strike plate is 4 1/4" x 15/16" and the keyhole cover is 1 3/4" x 1 1/8" If your going to spend real money on a vintage lock set you should expect no broken or missing pieces. Some of which has worn away creating a dramatic two toned look. The set is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with only a few small signs of wear and age. This set is typical of the high quality hardware produced by Corbin. The pieces are all heavy castings and the reversible mortise lock is far more sophisticated than a standard box. The set includes one bronze faced reversible mortise lock. Two pattern matched knobs and door plates and an original Corbin deadbolt key. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with two new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. The pieces of this set have complementary vernacular designs with nice sharp detail. Though Corbin rarely named its patterns. The knobs are listed in the company catalogs as"Gothic" The set has an aged color typical of quality bronze castings and there is minimal discernable wear, except for the strike plate which shows a few small dings. Everything is straight and functional. The reversible mortise lock has strong springs and is in excellent working order. The last photo speaks to the condition of the lock's internal components. The set includes one solid bronze faced mortise lock. Two cast bronze knobs, two cast bronze round knob escutcheons, two cast bronze key hole covers, a difficult ... moreto find matching strike plate and a working vintage deadbolt key. Antique Corbin "Brocade" Pattern Entry Lock Set, Cast Bronze c.1880's
Item description Antique Corbin"Brocade" pattern cast bronze entry door lock set c.1880's. This is the finest lock of this type and pattern I have ever listed. This lock is for a right hand swing door only and is not reversible. This is a superior quality lock set featuring Corbin's long lived and very successful"Brocade" pattern. This pattern exists in a number of variations and was used on a wide variety of hardware items. This set features the much less common lattice pattern. All of the pieces are beautifully finished cast bronze. With a copper background finish and have well below average wear. The drum style knobs include the more desirable oversized entry knob. Both knobs have aged beautifully and show little wear to the front/back, but they do have slightly indented backs and a few small dings around the ... moresides, but they do not diminish from their appearance. Both knobs are beautifully aged with coloring that resembles burled walnut. This is a true complete, original set, ready to install. The set includes a number of rare pieces. Offered is this fantastic Victorian. Art Nouveau style complete mortise lock set with matching door knobs and door plates. Patent date is 1899 probably made by Corbin. Signed on inside of door plate and on the front of one door knob. Left unpolished with the original 115 year old patina. I think it's a combination of brass and bronze highly ornate sand cast metals. This set is fully functioning with dead bolt and inside lock on the door knob shaft that turns and locks from the inside. Condition is excellent condition with no damage. The original lock has been re-keyed. The plate measures 12" long by about 3" widest point. Weight is about 7-8 pounds. Good luck!

Made of bronze, the knobs feature a threefold design of palmettes encircling a rosette with a stylized flower on the interior side, and encircling the keyhole on the exterior side. The plates have an intricate design of volutes and bundled bellflowers bordering a simple oval band. What a rare find! Magnificent. Antique, door locksets made by"P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT circa 1895. Each set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All bronze/brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not stamped/pressed brass/bronze or plated steel. Originally, all bronze/brass parts were copper ... moreplated, however, some of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. The amount of plating varies from part to part; see photos to compare. Each set has a different lock. Set#1's lock is slightly bigger. The locks of both sets are reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The knobs and plates have a superb. Art Nouveau style design, which Corbin called, Florence. We put the sets together using parts that we've collected from various places over the past couple of years. That is why all parts have differing degrees of patina. It's in good used condition with some dings around the knob edges and some bent areas on the lock and plates(these bends can be straightened) The knobs measure 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the plates measure 2 1/8 X 8 1/2 inches. Here is for auction a beautifull and rare bronze entry door set. This set has been made by Corbin hardware company in the 1900's. Complete and ready to be install everything is there original key. Screws, etc. I have include a brass door striker that will fit with a small adjustment. Perfect for a residential or commercial door. All the rich bronze patina is there you can polish it to the britness that you want. Incredible Art Nouveaux/ Arts& Crafts design. NO RESERVE! Condition varies from one person to another. Antique Doorknobs Sixfold Wrought Bronze Plated Iron Shank c.1905 Corbin You are bidding for this ornate pair of bronze antique door knobs. manufactured by P&F Corbin New Britain. CT c.1905. The'Cairo' design is a wrought brass sixfold floral motif surrounds a bead-rimmed rosette.These banded rim knobs have taken on some paint over the year. Included is a 3 3/4" long standard 9/32 drilled shaft(Knobs are not threaded) The Knobs are 2 3/8" in diameter.
