Antique BRASS Furniture DECORATIONS Enamel Blue Red Decoration Indian Swirl
Whatever their original purpose. They are high quality and intricately decorated brass fittings, we think done in an Indian style. Possibly intended as fittings for stairwell columns, display pillers, bed posts, or even tusk decorations for an elephant statue, these 2 5/8 inch high items have wide bases that are 2 3/4 inches in diameter and tops that are 2 1/8 inches in diameter, for a slight cone shape. One of these nearly identical pieces has holes for nails, while the other doesn't. Together, they weigh 9.5 ounces. Both these fittings are in good overall condition. Some of the enamel dots are missing. But this is nothing that ruins the appearance of the items. Large Antique Vintage Brass Walkway House Posts Columns Large Heavy See Pictures
Posts are about 40lbs each and 32 inches tall. The tops of the posts come out as shown in the pictures. One seems to be missing a pole attached to it. They are in overall good shape with no scratches or dings. I'm not sure of the exact age and couldn't find any markings on them. (Set of 3) Vintage Brass Horse Head Hitching Post Toppers/Rail Holders
Brass Horse Heads Very nice workmanship on this set of 3 vintage brass horse heads. Each figure is mountable to a post and could be used on it's own as a hitching post. But. All 3 were originally spaced equidistant from each other and a brass rail was fitted through the ring on each horse to form a long hitching rail. A wooden rail could be placed through the rings also. If desired. When we acquired these, there was no rail present any longer. The horse heads are all the same size and weigh approx. 4 pounds apiece. They are 9.25" long. 6.5" tall and 4.25" at the widest point. The rings at the end of the nose are 2" in diameter. Each ring has a screw at the bottom of it which can be turned to help secure any rail that is inserted. At the back of the heads. There is a right angle cut where the head could be mounted to ... morea post. The cut measures 3" x 2.5" There are two holes for screws/nails at the backs of the heads~one at the top and one at the bottom. The last photo shows one of the heads mounted to a simple two by four. These are in very good vintage condition and do have a patina while retaining quite a bit of shine. There is verdigris present~especially in the engraved grooves of the design and at the area of the holes at the end of the noses. There is some spotting-probably weather-related. But these are in fine overall shape and make a striking impression. I have tried and failed to find any maker's marks. But they are very well made and very solid. The detailing is excellent. They would be quite expensive to mail by weight. But they will all 3 actually fit into one large flat rate box. So will mail for one rate to anywhere in the contiguous United States. We are offering all 3 together at first. Because they really do belong together. But if no one buys them this way, we will eventually be offering them one at a time. I have set of four brass bed caps. They measure around 3 1/4" tall and have a 1 7/8" opening on bottom. They all have dents and have some stress cracks. Good for parts or restoration. Vintage Marble And Brass Pedestal Stand 44.5" Tall Pick Up Phoenix
Column is not solid piece of marble. Several pieces attached. This piece was obtained by a serviceman during WWII. Not sure where it originated from. Top and base are brass. Bottom is labeled Balto S 14 IN. Piece has wear consistent with age. No scratches, chips or cracks. Top has service members SSN carved in and so does the underneath of the base. There are a few dings around the base edges and some on the poles themselves. The loops where the ropes attach are slightly flattened from when they had fallen over. These are tarnished. Scratched, and dinged; you are buying these as-is. One pole has the Lawrence top cap. The other 3 are smooth tops. NO RESERVE! LOCAL PICKUP ONLY! Brass Bronze Fluted Columns Verdigris Patina Lamp Base Candlestick Architectural
This auction is for a pair. A set of 2 metal round reeded columns. They stand 12" tall. The base is 3 1/2" wide and the hole on top is 1/2" wide. Not sure where they came from but they'd make a great pair of lamp bases or candleholders. The inside is hollow, looks like brass or bronze maybe. Fully coated in that beautiful green verdigris. They could be polished up, I'll leave that task to the new owner. I think they're beautiful the way they are. They have a bit of weight to them so please check shipping before bidding.
