The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. This clock was made in France in the second part of 19 th century approx around 1870. Blue Hand painted Sevres porcelain inserts are made with really marvellous intense colours and gilt relief apply. Porcelain is in excellent condition. Clock has some absent parts which were the part of the attributes as you can see on the pictures. Porcelain dial with Roman numerals is in very good condition. French movement is in good running and striking condition with 8 days going work and at the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bronze bell. A glorious and early original antique French clock set featuring Sevres style porcelain and cherubs. It is most exquisitely modelled in the classical style of Louis XVI. Finely chased and crisply modelled in ormolu(finely gilded brass/bronze) and mounted with Sevres style porcelain panels. Porcelain has a blue ground and is delicately painted with floral swags. The panel below the dial is painted with a delightful scene of two cherubs. To the top of the clock is a cherub marking off time. Candelabra have porcelain mounted bases upon which stand cherubs, one boy and one a girl, holding the four branches aloft as burning touch é. Branches are modelled as stylised acanthus. The clock sits on its polished ... moreintegral base allowing the reflection of the pendulum to be seen swinging within. This clock set has been impeccably prepared by our restorers and is beautifully bright and clean. Ready to display. The dial is enamel in copper. Lettered in blue with separate minute and hour rings. The finely fretted gilt brass hands are original and the hobnail bezel is fitted with convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of excellent quality and is the early design with silk suspension and outside hammer stop spring. The backplate of the movement is marked"M" for the retailer and unusually the case is also marked with the same"M" Movement is in excellent. And rings on the half and full hours. To be safe for the auction I will assume the clock may need a servicing or light cleaning to keep perfect time, which I am sure has not been done in some time. The Clock itself is in very fine condition showing very light wear to the panels, and no chips, cracks, missing pieces, or repairs. Foliage ornate clock is topped with medallion representing a portrait of a noble lady. In front a porcelain plaque with winged cupid. At both sides flanked with vases and pillars. Left pillar has a crack and one chip off. All porcelain is with ornate gilt relief highlights around. The white metal(spelter) has all over regilded surface. The porcelain dial is with Roman numerals. French movement is in good running condition and striking at the 1/1 and 1/2 hours on a silvered bronze bell. Exceptional Sevres Porcelain and Bronze Ormolu Clock Garniture Set. This came from a museum in Gettysburg PA that closed its doors. You will receive a book from the Museum showing this set displayed. The clock works& face are marked E& S Watson London. Clock strikes on the hour and 1/2 hour. The porcelain has a variety of marks& signatures. There is no damage to the porcelain. There are no breaks in the metal. The only condition issues I see are: One of the candelabra leans a little-I believe it could easily be fixed but I do not want to disassemble it. This lovely clock set is composed of gilt bronze with Sevres style details on the candlesticks and pedestal. The Baume& Lezard Clock is cased in bronze next to a sculpture of a woman in Middle Eastern dress with a water jug. The clock stands on two mismatched feet. There is a small nick in the porcelain on one of the candlesticks. The winding mechanism is functional but the clock requires a pendulum. The Sevres panel on the front has been repaired. 1880 Sevres Porcelain Bronze Mounted Ormolu Clock Henri Picard No Reserve This listing is for a large and impressive Bronze clock with Sevres porcelain. The clock movement is marked HP&Co. I believe this clock to be made by the 19th. century clock maker Henri Picard. The clock is in running condition. But needs the usual adjustments. I have the original pendulum but I have no key. The quality of the bronze is good, although a bit worn. It has an old gold patina, but not bright. As far as the Sevres porcelain. There is a lovely hand painted scene in the front of a romantic couple. It has jewels around it, some of which are missing. There are other areas also which are missing jewels. A lot of the gold decoration on the porcelain is faded. And almost gone in some areas. It is still a nice blue color. It seems the whole piece was over cleaned. ... moreA bit of the bronze is loose on the top urn, but its there. The biggest issue with this clock is the dial. Which was cracked and repaired. The dial is nicely painted with jewels around it. It would be well worth the expense of having it professionaly restored. However it is still totally usuable in its current condition. The Clock is of amazing quality throughout featuring exquisitely Hand Enamelled Scenic and Bird Figural Sevres Porcelain Plaques to all sides including the faces of the Clock and Barometer. The Case is solid Brass with all the original bevelled glass panels. The Clock has a nice patina to the Brass and overall is in incredible condition with no damage and the clock started right up when I wound it and has been running nicely on my desk. I don't know exactly how the Barometer works so I will not comment on the condition of that I would say the clock might need a cleaning or slight adjustment to keep perfect time. The Clock is a nice Miniature size measuring just 4-1/2" long by 1-3/4" wide and standing 3-3/4" tall. Antique FRENCH Sevres MEISSEN Porcelain CLOCK Cherubs Matson 16" TALL
I found this old porcelain clock at a recent estate sale. The porcelain is exceptionally fine with striking detail and beautifully designed faces. The clock is unsigned except for a small gold painted number 10 inside the bottom. The quality of the porcelain leads me to believe this piece is probably German or French. There are some condition issues. The woman's right arm is severed and detached. The break is clean and could be repaired. She may have once been holding something small but it is missing. There is some wear to the gold paint. Please view all pics. The top pediment is gold painted metal made by Matson. The clock winds and runs. No maker's name of the clock is visible. The first pic shows the right arm and where the break is. Measures 16" tall. 9" across and 6 1/3" deep.
