Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It ... morewas made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. ENGLISH ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ARTS& CRAFTS CARVED OAK MAHOGaNY INLAID WOOD CLOCK ENGLISH ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ARTS& CRAFTS CARVED OAK MAHOGANY INLAID ... moreWOOD CLOCK An unusual clock of the Art Nouveau- Arts and Crafts period being of a beautifully carved wood depicting deep and crisply carved flowers and leaves with scroll to the base and inlaid woods of a floral design to the surrounding face of the clock. The clock is an electric clock but I don't believe this is the cases original clock. The original most likely having been of a wind up mechanism and with deeper workings. The original winding mechanism possibly being fitted into the base as there is a hole in the case here. I am not absolutely sure of the type of wood the case as I am not very good at judging different types but it may be mahogany. It is difficult to put an exact date on the clock as it appears to have some of the Art Nouveau style of decoration as well as of the Arts and crafts period so could possibly be right at the end of the Arts Nouveau period beginning of the Arts and Crafts period showing a combination of the two styles. The electric clock is wired and with plug but this absolutely would need to be checked by an electrician if required for use. The clock does work but is sometimes needs a bit of a jiggle to get it started and as the clock is set deeper than it would be in it's original case it is also a bit of a fiddle to adjust the fingers although it can be done. Other than the above mentioned the clock is in lovely condition showing just one or two minor surface marks but with no chips to the carving. Snips, cracks or damage and with the many pictures giving a good representation of condition and where it can be judged on it's own merit, so please do check these out carefully before bidding. Measures; 15.3cm) 6" inches high x( 20.5cm) 8" inches across x( 5.2cm) 2" inches wide. All pictures on this listing are of the actual item for sale. An unusual little clock for collectors and lovers of the Arts and Cr

Listed here are 1-ounce bottles of Slick Liquid. The outstanding lubricating oil that everyone has grown to love and utilize for the last several years. ... moreCustomers who are shopping for this oil will receive the bottle with the standard needle dispenser tip for easy application. Those who are using the product for the 1st time can read through all the customer feedback to see what the fuss is about when it comes to this oil. Simply put. Slick Liquid is a 100% synthetic lubricant that outperforms many of the other grandfather clock oils currently out on the market. In fact. Many studies show that the oil performs twice as well in standard metal to metal grind down tests when compared to their best competitors. The synthetic oil has a lot of advantages when paired to conventional petroleum based oils, including the ability to work well in low and high temperature situations. Using petroleum based oil can also be a lot of sticky deposits all over different components that can obviously be a mess to deal with. More details on the advantages are listed below. Petro-oils vs. Synthetics Many people think that petroleum-based oils are better. But they actually lack in several different categories when compared to synthetics. Not only do synthetics do a better job with lubrication performance, but they also provide excellent observation stability. The formula for real oil is simply a mixture of long and short chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms, which means that there are times in which the conditions are right and the short-chain molecules actually evaporate. When that happens, the unstable molecules can actually oxidize and break down. In Layman’s terms, this means that a sticky residue will be left on the surface of anything you are trying to lubricate. Not only that, but true oils will also have different impurities that could mess things up such as waxes, sulfur or hydrocarbons. They can all leave residue deposits that are in need of being removed. Synthetic oils are created by using an entirely different process. Th

A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE HALLMARKED SILVER CASED CLOCK , BIRMINGHAM 1912.A really charming clock in very good original condition, it measures approx 5 1/4” ... moretall , just over 2 1/2” at the widest point & 1 1/4” deep.Lovely quality with fine floral engraving to the front, an extremely pretty clock in every way. This has just been on display for decades in my late father’s house , but I gave it a small wind up & it’s been going for a few hours with no problems. Sold purely as a decorative item though as it comes with no key & will certainly need a service/ clean at some point to keep good time & the face has some very fine hairline cracks- see pictures.Still a very charming piece that displays very well & would make a superb gift idea.

Jakob Zeller-Tobler set up their Black Forest business in the town of Schramberg. Complete clocks were not ... moreon the menu from the two partners until later in 1866, instead the new business concentrated its efforts on making clock parts. Selling these parts to other clock makers allowed the partners to build up enough capital to embark on the design and manufacture of their first clocks. The company grew rapidly from the original parts business and after Erhard passed away in 1870 the business was taken over by his two sons; Arthur and Erhard Jr. The two brothers expanded production and by the turn of the century the production of antique Junghans Clocks had surpassed all other clock makers in Germany. Becoming the largest clock maker not just in Germany, but in the world. Branding played an important part in the Junghans success. In 1890 Junghans designed an eight-point star as their trademark. Something that has lasted to this day. In 1903 they employed over 3000 people and made over 3 million timepieces each year. Such was the innovation of the company that a special building was constructed in to the mountain side, a terraced building that allowed natural sunlight to flood into each and every workstation. Phelps who caused the Ansonia Brass Co. part of the Phelps Dodge Co. to be built here. Rolled brass became commercially available in quantity in the United States sometime during the early 1830’s. After 1838 it had generally replaced cast brass and wood for making clock movements. Since clocks provided a market for brass. What could have been more natural for Phelps to do than to start a clock company in connection with the brass operations to use more of his own product. In 1851 The Ansonia Clock Company came into existence as a subsidiary company. It is probable from the clocks and data now available, that even from the very start two firm names were used. Ansonia Clock Co. was one. And Ansonia Brass& Clock Co. was the other; both marked"Ansonia. Conn. Owen also operated a concurrent clock business at Winsted between 1875 and 1894. In 1897. The Gilbert firm built a four-story building for a new case shop and another building by 1900 for storage and shipping. A three-story office building was built in 1902. The recession, which began in 1907, along with the financial pressures of their recent expansion headed the firm in a decline that culminated by forcing George B. Owen and his sons to relinquish control in 1914 Bankruptcy and liquidation were barely avoided in 1914 and a new manager. Charles E. From 1881 to 1884, the company was known as The E. Ingraham& Company. Finally in 1885 it was incorporated as The E. Ingraham Company. I am a very naive clock person and though it is imprinted"La Scarpe" on the back I think that is referring to the clock form rather then the clock maker. It also has the number 2891. Some chinese characters and what looks like some German words in the red imprinted open circle on the back of the clock. It looks like an Ansonia clock but I cannot say that since it is a bit confusingly marked. The clock face, which I believe is porcelain, says"Made in Germany" The front door has a bezeled glass and it shuts very nicely. The back door also secures nicely.
