This came from a New Jersey estate where I was told it works and includes its pendulum and key which I show in my last photo. It has been hanging in this home as a decoration. Not wound in years and I don't dare fiddle with it as I am not a clock expert. This has beautiful gold solid bronze ornate leaf with berry decoration and measures 25" high X 12" wide. Exceptional Large French Gilt Bronze Cartel Clock
This is a beautiful LARGE FRENCH CARTEL wall clock. Probably dates 1880-90. It is 26" L. 15" W, 5" D and weighs over 20 pounds. Gilt finish is clean and bright with some being worn. The finish is not polished or buffed, just cleaned. The detail of the casting is great, no cracks or breaks noted. It has a French 8 day movement that strikes the half and full hour and is running and striking as should. Unique dial with double row of markers in Roman and Arabic numbers and is in excellent condition with brass beaded bezel. Cannot warrant accuracy. Please email any questions. Will ship insured.

Materials: The mantel clock is made out of heavy bronze and all over enriched with detailed ornaments. The cartel dial face consists in enameled. Cased badges with roman numbers on them. The eight-days movement is marked with"A. D. Mougin- Deux medailles" and"E. P. Deposé" It runs fine and keeps the time accurately. The clock chimes the full hours fully and the half hours once. The bell is original and silver-plated. The beveled glass dial cover is also original and undamaged. There are old repairs to the case; the two stems that extend from the bow at the top to the body have been re-attached(picture 5, front, and picture 6, back) Also there are two spots on the bow that have been repaired(picture 8) The works are signed F. Pelissier, France and it is over wound so I don't know what it would take to get it running again, if that is even possible. You can see the quality of this fine clock, but if you pick it up you can feel it as well as it weighs about 17 pounds. The length of the case is approximately 23 and 3/4" S.H.I.
