Antique SETH THOMAS Adamantine MANTEL Clock RESTORED Runs EXCELLENT
For your consideration we have this gorgeous antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock. I found this at a local Estate here in Pennsylvania. The wood case was taken completely apart and then cleaned& polished to it's original glory. The bronze ornaments& feet have their original finish. The case only shows a minor nick or dent here or there. Nothing major that it stands out. The brass dial is the more scarce solid brass pan with the thick brass bezel and thick heavy beveled glass. The dial is all original with the black painted numbers by Seth Thomas. The bezel still retains it's original Gold Gilt as well as the Gold scroll work to the case is also original. The movement was cleaned& oiled. Movement size is the ST 4-1/2. Chimes once on the half hour with a brass cup bell& gongs correctly for the number of times ... morefor the hour. It has a very loud and strong gong. Runs excellent, a strong runner. No gear noise. This clock also has it's original Brass Key& adjustable lead Pendulum. Feel free to ask any questions. 1904 Seth Thomas 4-Column Adamantine Mantel Clock Antique Majestic Nouveau
Here's a beautiful antique Seth Thomas Adamantine mantel clock with 4-full columns as well as two large half columns. The columns look really cool with light source behind clock-it looks like the columns are glowing! The clock measures approx. 11" tall.18" wide, and 7" in depth. The wood case appears to be made of a reddish mahogany or tiger maple. The adamantine finish has been cleaned and polished, the finish is very good with only very tiny chips to some edges(these imperfections are not easily seen) All four celluloid columns are excellent with no chips, including the large half columns although a couple columns have a few small remnants of gold paint that evidently was used in the original painting of the legs. The feet and column capitols have the old brass finish that has developed a nice patina-one back brass leg ... moreis missing and has a piece of wood substituted for support(again not noticeable, except upon close inspection) The original dial is faded but conveys that well-weathered look that many find desirable. The original Seth Thomas 4 1/2 8-day movement has been gone through, cleaned, and serviced-it runs strong and keeps good time. The clock strikes a bell on the half-hour and counts the hours on a nice sounding gong. The clock has it's original pendulum and key. A really Majestic old clock here! Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Clock Offering a lovely antique Seth Thomas adamantine mantle clock known as the"Tyro. This circa 1906 clock strikes a gong for the hour and a delightful cup bell for the half-hour. This clock has six fancy green metal columns. These are supported by gold colored bases and capitals. This also has gold colored Lion heads and fancy feet. The metal parts appear to have been previously painted. And done very nicely. There is gold incised decoration on the front. This also has beautiful multi-colored adamantine trim in black, green and orange. The original Seth Thomas movement was completely disassembled. This was ultra-sonically cleaned. Offering a nice antique Seth Thomas adamantine mantle clock known as the"Texel. This circa 1900 clock is an 8 day clock that chimes the hour on a gong and the half-hour on a cup bell. This black clock has adamantine top and trim resembling green marble. Egyptian style lion heads. Gold columns and fancy feet adorn this clock. The metal parts appear to have been painted as well as the columns this clock has gold incised decoration on the front. A fancy 4 1/2" Arabic dial is found on the front. A nice brass bezel surrounds the dial and closes nicely and stays closed. The original Seth Thomas 89c movement has been cleaned. Adjusted and lubricated with synthetic clock lubricant. Up for bids is this unique and wonderful Seth Thomas Adamantine mantel clock. Unique in having 6 columns. 2 long and 4 shorter. They are made from the Brazilian type Adamantine that Seth Thomas is known for. Made around 1910c. This beauty was totally disassembled, cleaned, buffed& polished. The Red Mahogany Adamantine is incredibly shiny. This was done by polishing, No clear coat paint was sprayed on this case. It does have a new replacement paper dial exactly like the original ST dials and looks great. The glass& brass bezel is perfect. The movement runs excellent and is the 89c works with cup bell for a nice bell sound on the half hour and gongs quite nicely on the hour. Comes with the original pendulum and key. Please note- this clock needs a little work- I will describe the issue below. This antique Seth Thomas Adamantine clock has the pendulum and key. Everything appears original. But I am not a clock expert- we have taken lots of pictures for you to evaluate. Please note- there is a small chip/hole in the finish on the top of the case and a little surface wear here and there. It does not currently run. But I don't think it is a major problem for someone who knows what they are doing. When the pendulum moves, the thin piece of wire does not make enough contact with the gear to make it index- if I"help it along' just a bit, the wire will make the gear move. In other words- I*think* the piece of wire that the pendulum hangs from needs tweaking. You are looking at a Seth Thomas Mantle clock that needs some repair. It has the key. And I was able to wind both parts, but now it seems to be stuck. The clock starts to tick when first wound up, but then stops. The chimes went off when I turned the hands. There is a small nick in the top at the back that I have pictured in the last photo. The glass is missing. But the door for it is intact. Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantle Clock. This clock is in very good condition for its age- 1900-1910. Shows most of original label on lower backside with manufacturer's patent date of September 7 1880. The brass hinged glass front door lens measures 6" across and closes tightly. And the back door slips on and off and clips closed- not a hinged door. This clock ticks and work as it should- though once shipped you may adjust as needed, as well as oil and regulate. I'm not a clock professional was but told this is an 8 day clock- it strikes rings on the hour and half-hour and comes with a key and pendulum. The clock's housing cabinet is made of solid wood with thick black lacquer enamel flat-smooth finish with chased design with gold-leaf. The columns are a celluloid with Bakelite side panels and not cracked. The clock measures ... morea little more than 11" tall and just over 16" long and 7" wide. Weighs about 10 lbs. This condition of this old clock is good working condition but does show some aged areas with patina and porcelain enamel wear on face. Offering a beautiful antique Seth Thomas adamantine 8 day mantle clock. This circa 1893 clock chimes a gong for the hour and half-hour. This 8 day mantle clock is known as the model No. 774 and has a rebuilt movement. This black adamantine clock has tan and beige adamantine top and trim resembling fine marble. There are four adamantine columns on the front that are supported by gold colored bases and capitals. fancy gold colored feet support this clock. It appears that the metal parts were repainted at one time. The case is in good condition with with a 2 1/2" crack on the left side and a nick on the top right side(see photos# 10& 11. The case has a few smudges but overall a very attractive clock. This clock has a nice brass 4 1/2" Arabic dial that is in very good condition. The bezel closes easily and stays closed.
