The glass on the 2 sides and front is i perfect condition. There is a minute hand on the face missing and one of the fly wheels that holds the weight is also missing. Vtg Antique Gustav Becker Hand Carved Wood Clock- Plaque 3-Dimentional Ornate
This is a very beauiful antique wood carving that is marked on the back"Gustav Becker- Holzsohnitzer- Berghausen- Hauptstr. 80" I purchased this piece many. Many years ago, and it has been packed away in my closet, in my smoke-free home. It depicts a lovely country scene of a water mill that is very intricately carved in bas relief 3D. I am not sure what kind of wood this is, but it is very heavy and dense. The original wood color can be seen behind the painted"Gustav Becker" in the back The piece weights close to 3 pounds. It measures 15-3/8 inches wide(390 mm) and is 1-1/4 inches high(32mm) at it's highest point. There is a very old circular hanger on the back. Also on the back, there is a V shaped marking, as well as 2 very small nail holes. This may have been made if the carving was part of a clock, which I believe ... moreit was. The piece appears to be stained with different shades of brownish colors, as well as the green and white water that is coming from the bottom of the mill. There is some minor flaked paint along the upper right side, and there is a very small hairline crack along the right side rim(which I have shown in my pictures. Hi, You are looking at beautiful Gustav Becker wall clock. This clock measures 79 cm tall and 35 cm wide and has a very nice wooden oak case. The clock needs a key to wind up which comes with it. It needs winding every 8 days. The clock has a large circle shaped pendulum inside the case. The sound of this clock is quite loud but magnificent. A deep and warm bell sound. On the clockface there is the maker's mark GB. This clock is antique since the brand was created in 1899. And in 1930 it merged with Junghans When the Second World War ended, the company stopped producing clocks, and today, Gustav Becker clocks are no longer produced. Thanks for your time. Being offered is a great looking original piece. It is marked on the face plate and the inside workings Gustav Germany. There is also markings on the works G B with a crown and anchor and also has P 14. At the bottom it is marked 1000 and there is a K off to the side. Some typical scratches and marks here and there. I think everything is original. This seemed to be working good at the estate auction but now I can not get it to run. I don't know clocks very well so I am wondering if I even have the pendulum set correct. I am going to have to sell it as non working but I am use it is an adjustment or something that I am just missing. This has a nice bevel glass door. The back has problems staying shut but that is an easy fix and if it is level it will stay shut on its own. This has some size and weight. Antique Wall Clock Gustav Becker 3 Weight Vienna Regulator Year 1884 Very Nice
Very nice. Very original Gustav Becker 3 weight Vienna Regulator fully embossed weights. Pendulum and dial, This clock has an above average gong tone, kinda soft and pleasant compared to some twangy gongs. S/N 434.849 is fairly early considering he made 2.25 million clocks(aprox year 1884- 1880 is S/N 260,000 and 1885 is S/N 500,000) This clock was cleaned and restrung a few yrs ago and all is still well, fully functional and in very good condition. I just reoiled now as I was trying to decide who to keep and who to let go, this one pains me to let go but I have to many The case is all tight,the bottom finial dowel is broken but there is enough to insert and for the clock to hold it so it stays in the case as I do not approve of gluing finials to the clock. The door is bowed but it does latch, it is hard to notice unless you look for it, ... moresee the side pic on the bench, I clamped it inverting the bow a long time ago but it did not change at all and is just part of the history of the clock now as I was unwilling to steam or wet as I did not want to upset the original finish. Very nice. Very original early Gustav Becker 2 weight Vienna Regulator S/N 170,xxx is fairly early considering he made 2.25 million clocks(aprox year 1877- 1875 is S/N 100,000 and 1880 is S/N 260,000) This clock was cleaned and restrung a few yrs ago and all is still well, fully functional and in very good condition. The case is all tight, I did put a little masking tape on a finial dowel so it stays in the case as I do not approve of gluing finials to the clock. I forgot to measure prior to packing but this is a standard full size 8 day Vienna Regulator wall clock. Any questions call Mark 714 861 9930. A very warm rich wooden oak Clock in great condition for its age decoratively embellished with carved features. The wood is hardwood and thick so is quite heavy and quite a lovely rich deep colour. Apart from one or two small dings the finish seems quite new. This clock is running and striking very well. The movement slides in and out of the case easily for servicing but it is running so well you won't need that. There is some discoloration on the dial and signs of some handpainting(check the photos) It is striking the half hours and counting out the hours on the hour on its three gorgeous echoing long decay resonating gong rods(ding dong) ... moreSounds like a big grandfather chime. It is supplied with key and very lovely huge brass pendulum which flashes in behind the brass leadlighting beveled glasses. There are other features too. Up for your consideration is this Beautiful Gustav Becker Free Swinger Wall Clock Dating to 1900-1913 this Gustav Becker clock bears the Freiburg makers mark. Also marked; P42 serial number 1729924. Pendulum carrier is marked DRE. Large size clock measures 44" x 14" x 7" The arched dial is made of pewter colored metal with a copper colored center that has nice patina. And gold tone corner and arch details. All parts are present. We could not get clock to run. May just need cleaned do not know, no key. The case is wonderfully crafted and in good condition with cracks in the wood ... moreon the back side(needs tightening) minor wear on dial, and some finish loss in gold tone details. One of the better quality/best-known German clockmakers from the mid to late 19th century was Gustav Becker. Born in 1819. Becker trained as a clockmaker in Germany and Austria. In 1850 he opened workshops in Freiburg, Silesia, Germany in 1850. Initially, Becker struggled with untrained help, but won the"Medaille d’Or" for design at the 1852 Silesia Trade Exposition. Becker incorporated that first medal and his initials, G.B. into his trademark and, as you will see below, into many components of his clocks, from movement mounts to wall standoffs to beatplates and pulleys. The 8-days work runs well and is of very high quality. Not just a clock. But an exquisite piece of fine art. Produced over 100 years ago by skilled German artisans for high quality that was meant to last a lifetime. And it has! Still lovely today as it was. This is truly a stunning antique timepiece. Eight-day movement has a very sonorous gong chime at the half and full hour. Heavy walnut or mahogany case with 6 heavy beveled panes of glass on the door. No chips. Cracks or scratches in the glass. Has a double locking latch. The case does a a couple of wood cracks around the face and one knick on the latch side of the door. It does not detract from the beauty of this piece, it adds character and authenticity. See pics. 2 Copper colored panels. One on each side with the initials G.B. You are buying an astounding rare art deco style Gustav Becker wall clock. It measure 24" tall by 13&1/2" wide and 7" deep. It has a embossed gold gild dial and pendulum with classic art deco foliage and clamshell designs. A dark wood case and floral and foliage frame at radius and accent under dial. Dial has a convex glass bezel and beveled cut thick glass door. The solid brass movement is in excellent working condition and keeps time perfectly. RARE, RARE SERIAL NUMBER- 30,657- This clock is shockingly early for a GUSTAV BECKER, see the serial number and note the logo, the logo is also on the case movement mount which I dont see often(hard to see in pic- zoom in) The clock shows a few worm holes but I have owned it for yrs and I guarantee they are not active/alive, also note veneer at base could be better, the clock is clean, sound and stable now. The movement has just been cleaned and restrung and is operating properly. The weight is not the original, it is what came with the clock yrs ago, if one wanted they could probably find a better one here on ebay. It has the original key. The clock I forgot to measure before packing but here is a guess- 40-42 x 11-12 x 5 inches- it is a little smaller than some but not a miniature, the earlier clocks were typically a little bit thinner/smaller. ... moreClock is well packed with new materials, it is a big box so the shipping cost a little more than we all like. PICTURE INTENSE ~ PLEASE ALLOW PICTURES TO LOAD Stately antique wall clock in good solid condition; may need a little restoration work done. Overall length of clock with top assembly in place is approximately 38" Width is approximately 16-1/2" at the top mantle. Depth is approximately 7-1/2" at the top mantle. It has some normal wear and tear. Commensurate with the age of the clock, in the way of some scratches, scrapes, dings, etc. There is a crack going through the arched wood over the door, and one of the finials on the crown is loose. Glass is in overall great condition. With no cracks noted. Back of the wooden ... morecase has some hand numbering and lettering present. As can be seen in the pictures. Also present, is a double stamp from a company or person, that we cannot fully decipher. The middle of the stamp says LEEDS, but the surrounding lettering is difficult to make out. Could possibly be H. Gilbert? or something similar. The clock face shows some expected age yellowing and some wear. No company markings present. Bezel is slightly dented. The back of the movement is stamped P42. And has the Gustav Becker hallmark, that we dated to somewhere between 1910 and the 1920's. The pendulum hanger is marked D.R.P. It is either missing the weights. Or perhaps never had them. We could not locate a serial number anywhere on this clock. We have lightly dry dusted this clock. But you may wish to detail it further. We were told that this clock is running. But we have not tested it, nor do we know if it keeps time in a consistent manner. As with any antique clock, you may wish to have it professionally cleaned and serviced. We have done our best to accurately describe this clock. Antique Gustav Becker Napoleon Hat Camelback Tambour Westminster Chimes Clock
I am listing some nice antique clocks this week so please check my other items. And don't forget to add me to your favorite seller's list. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever possible. This auction is for a very interesting Antique mantle clock made in Germany by Gustav Becker. It measures 22 inches long. 10 inches tall, and is 6 inches deep. The face is brass tone metal with black arabic numerals, and a chime silencer over the 12. The some of the number is wearing on the face, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. The feet are missing. The brass framed crystal is domed and like the face, is also in excellent condition. The finish is original. I do not know if this works because I do not have a key. The hands are off but are still with the clock and are in good condition. There are areas on the outer edges ... morewhere the wood is separating at the joints. The pieces are dove tail joined. Pictured) The face is marked Germany(worn off) It has 5-bar chimes that may either be Westminster or Sonora. I don't know Euorpean woods. I do not collect clocks, nor am I an expert in antique clocks. I took several photos but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
