Well preserved, working American mantle clock that was produced in"Winsted Connecticut USA" about 105 years ago and signed on the dial, movement, and on a mostly intact label underneath by the"Gilbert Clock Company, one of the best clock makers ever. According to the same label, this is the"Blackbird" model of chiming mantle clocks produced by Gilbert. It has a nice satin black finish and accented with Roman pillars on each side of the dial, fancy claw cast metal ... morefeet in front, cast metal feet in back, a cast metal lion head on each side of the case with a metal ring in his mouth, and fancy, faint etched designs on the lower front and sides of the dial. The dial has a very fancy brass bezel surrounding it and a brass hinged outer bezel as well with a glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial backdrop is white and features fancy black arabic numeral to mark the hours and fancy metal hands to point out the time. The hands are the old style that are pinned to the escapement, not secured with a nut like the newer models. There is a slow/fast adjustment on the dial in case the clock timing ever needs to be sped up or slowed down. The back of the clock is wood as well and there is a black metal cover that is secured with a metal latch. It opens easily to allow access to the key wind, mechanical movement that is fitted with a brass pendulum. Antique Chiming clock from Germany Junghans or Urgos?
Antique clock made in Germany. The symbols and the face of the clock.And the shape are similar to those of Junghan, but there is a sticker on the back of the clock that's labeled Urgos. I am not sure who the maker is. The key to this clock is missing so I have not tested out its chime. The clock itself is in good condition. There are a few small chips out of the wood on the bottom left middle and corner, and also a small white pin point underneath the door latch. Antique New Haven "Harmoniste" Mahogany Chiming Wind Up Mantle Clock
This is the New Haven"Harmoniste" mantle clock. It is currently not working and may have been overwound. I have not tried to find out whats wrong with it and I don't know anything about these so I'm no help there. Cosmetically it has quite a few scratches and scrapes but considering how old it is it looks like it was well taken care of. These clocks have a very beautiful chime when there working. My research tells me its circa 1900.My Great Uncle had this on his mantle and was the"house clock"It still looks extremely Nice! Very little in the way of wear to the original marbled black finish. It has not been sanded or refinished.There is a sticker on the back where I assume he had it serviced(I called the number but they are no longer in business) So I dont know when it was last serviced. I had misplaced the key and pendulum. So I picked up the fancy replacement here on ebay, and we had a key that fit it perfectly.It looks like he had put some poly ... moreon the 2 right columns as they are a little shinier than the rest of the clock.Other than that, it looks to be all original with hinged round glass dome protecting the face.It runs perfectly and we have been enjoying it for the last week or so.I'm afraid of overwinding. so I just give it a few turns, and it runs for a few days straight)It chimes a bell on the half hour, and strikes the hours with a mellow"gong"There is an adjustment wheel on the face to go faster or slower.The remnants of the original red label are on the back as well, but most of it is gone, so I dont know the exact model.any help identifying would be great.If I've missed something, please just ask. Beautiful Antique Chiming Oak Smiths Mantle Wall Clock P303143
Clock face 3" and whole front including wood is 6" It can stand on a desk or be hung from a wall- there's a hanger in the back. It looks very nice and old. I've wound it and it ticks but if tipped it slows so I can't guarantee how accurate it is. There is a very old split in the block that it's attached to but it's still solid. It looks like it split a long time ago.

It is in working order and runs but runs fast. So it will want a small adjustment. It also has a lovely and delicate chime– very easy to live with! The slate has engraved detail around the face and on the base. It stands on 4 little ormolu legs and has ormolu handles and a decorative top piece. It is very heavy and weighs 6.560 kilograms. This makes the shipping expensive but I have done my best to keep the clock price as low as possible. The clock face is beautifully ornate and it comes with its original key.
