German Porcelain POCONO Ansonia Mantel/Shelf Clock Patd 1882 with Key/Pendulum
There are no chips or cracks. There is light crazing throughout as usual for these. It measures 12" tall. 12 1/2" wide by 5" deep. BEAUTIFUL DIAL with green and what appears to be original hands. The pendulum appears to be original also. This is a recent estate find and it does not run for more than a few minutes. Will definitely need cleaning. 19th century. Black enamel painted cast iron body, Ansonia shelf clock. Ormolu details with flame finial on top. 8-day, spring-driven brass movement. Partially replaced( numerical face. Glass and bezel original. Chimes on the hour with the number of hours and once on the half-hour. Fine working condition, keeps good time. Brass coloring worn on ormolu mounts. Right shoulder ormolu mount a little loose but does not come off. Minor enamel wear above the shoulders on both sides(see photos) On the movement frame it says: Ansonia Clock Co. USA, New York, Patented June 18, 1882. 13 1/2” high, 7 1/2” wide, 4 1/2” deep. 5” diameter bezel.

SOLD AS FOUND FOR REPAIR The clock may or may not run after being completely leveled(width& depth) and coaxed several times. Because the movement is in need of cleaning. Adjustment or repair and may not run when received by the buyer, I AM SELLING AS IS FOR REPAIR. Gorgeous Antique Ansonia Shelf Mantle Clock CREST Cherub Artist Statue Figural Rococo Recently acquired from a local estate. This wonderful antique Ansonia clock. It was made ca. 1904, the model is called“CREST” The clock is crafted in the highly ornate Rococo style with a porcelain face and is adorned at the top with a cherub holding an artist’s pallet. It is marked on the face as shown in the photos also on the back of the works inside is marked Ansonia. The finish looks to be a bronze finish, but I can’t be sure. The clock measures 12-1/2 inches tall from the bottom to the top of the cherub’s head. It is 6-1/2 inches wide and measures 5 inches from the front to the back legs. The clock runs then stops. It has been sitting and may need a cleaning on the inside. There is a crack in the putti's arm, see pics. Key is present. The clock was tested and did not hold time it runs for about 5-10 minutes and then stops. Both Pendulum and key are present. This is a Rare early Ansonia Beehive clock. The Label reads Ansonia Brass co. The cabinet is in Beautiful condition considering the clock is 165 years old! The bottom glass is a replacement not sure about the upper glass that may be original. The clock is not running right now It may be something like a simple adjustment I didn't want to look inside too much The original rare label is very fragile. When I turn the hands the clock gongs on the hour. It has a nice sound. Comes with pendulum& key. The hinge on the door has a small key that turns the hinge to close the door. The key is loose on the knob but still turns the hinge. I think it is called a Sonia#1 and is a model A26. It measures 22-1/2 inches long. 11 inches tall, and is 6-3/4 inches deep. The face is machined metal in A silvery whitish tone, with black arabic numerals, framed in brass. The face has a touch of age soiling but is otherwise in excellent condition. It has a bubble level built right in under the 12, also has four adjustable metal feet so it can be leveled. The brass framed crystal is beveled and domed and like the face, is also in excellent condition. The darkened, slightly gatored finish is original. ... moreI do not know if this works because I do not have a key. There are stress cracks in the wood on one side, and some tape residue on the other(Pictured) The face is marked The Ansonia Clock Co N.Y. U.S.A. It has 5-bar chimes that may either be Westminster or Sonora. I think the wood is mahogany. I do not collect clocks, nor am I an expert in antique clocks. Offered for auction a wonderful antique Ansonia Kensico gingerbread oak cased 8 day chimed mantle clock with key. Measuring just under 22 1/2 inches tall by just under 12 1/2 inches wide at top by 14 7/16 inches wide at base by 3 13/16 inches deep at top by 4 15/16 inches deep at base. This piece features what looks to be a softwood box surrounding works with solid oak door base and sides(no veneer and what appears to be it's original finish) The condition issues are few with some minute nicks at base and what looks like three or four small inactive worm holes at right lower frame of face(these appear very old and are not eaten away, structurally sound) This clock was wound for testing and does function having what appears to be it's original pendulum, as you have seen in the pictures.
