Beautiful wall clock from R A Germany. Measures 26" tall and 14" wide. Wood case. Glass windows, brass and porcelain face and pendulum. This is an 8 day clock which gongs or chimes once on the half hour, and fully for each hour. Includes a new key. All else is the original. Door swings open, and there is a bit of wear from door, also two tiny areas of missing veneer on one corner of bottom right- see next to last photos. These are the only flaws. Has beautiful patina, and very clean. I just paid $130 to a clock restorer to thoroughly clean and set this clock. Took it home and got it all going, and it kept perfect time(altho this is adjustable, like everything on this clock, if you know how) and chimed correctly- kind of a mid range pleasant chime, not high, not low. I will be completely honest and tell you I had a hard time trying ... moreto re-start it when I let it run down. you have to know a little something about these antique clocks to get them all set correctly, balanced, etc. As it was a bit big for the space I had in mind anyway. Antique 1800s Seth Thomas Reverse Painted Glass Portrait Wood 8 Day Chime Clock
Up for auction is an excellent early Seth Thomas 8-day key wind chime clock circa late 19th century. It has a beautiful. Carved and painted arched wood case, a reverse painted glass portrait of a female figure, metal dial with Roman numerals, old paper lining with instructions. It is in very good condition with wear consistent with age. Crazing and chipping to the finish on the dial, paint wear and patina, some wear to the painting, light surface wear to the wood, light soiling. Clock was given a small wind and it began to run, but was not further tested. Chime is in functioning order. Comes with a receipt from 1992 showing an overhaul. Also comes with a key. Offered for auction a wonderful antique 8 day? chimed shelf clock by unknown maker. Measuring approx. 21 3/8 inches tall by approx. 11 7/8 inches wide at top by just over 11 5/8 inches wide at base by just under 5 inches deep at top by 5 inches exactly at base. This piece features what looks to be a softwood body in walnut colored stain with roman numeral paper dial set in gilt gold face inner and outer. The condition issues are few with the first being the hour hand is missing, superficial scuffs, two nick dents(one on each side) to the flanking supports at center finial. This clock was wound for testing and does function having what appears to be it's original pendulum, as you have seen in the pictures this clock opens from the front face so we were unable to find a makers mark on the works(note missing lower paper label while upper ... morelabel reads No. 7222) This will make a great addition to your collection. Vintage Sessions Gingebread Clock Walnut 8 Day Chime Mantle Clock Circa 1910 USA
You are viewings a very nice old estate mantle clock that is over 100 years old. It has been running and chiming continuously until I allowed it to run down for shipment. Everything is original except the hinges on the door. They do not look as old as the clock. The faded card inside the clock identifies it as a Sessions from Forestville. CN. It has a soft, pleasant chime on the half hour and chimes out the full hour. The Sessions Clock Company was founded in 1903 and as far as I know switched to electric clocks in the 1930's and are still in business today.
