Rare to find this glass still and especially in this condition. The frame is of a cast metal and heavier metal at that. It has been cleaned and r estored to a medium gold. And oil rubbed to enhance the details of the frame. The brass turn switch has been replaced with a new one and the socket and wiring also. The bulb it would take is a standard size bulb that w ith a regular base. The wattage of 60 or less is recomm ended. Especially for the presentation of the color of the shade. The stronger wattage the less color of the glass. The measurem ent is 11 inches tall and with this 5 1/2 a nd the depth from the wall is 4 1/2. hanging hardware is included for immedia te use and enjoy ment. This slip shade sconce has the original switch on it and it is still active and working. This lamp has been tested working however it still has the old cloth wires so you may want to have them replaced. The sconce measures 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and projects 5 1/4" from the wall( with the shade on) The slip for the shade is 4 5/8" at the top and curves in over 3 1/4" As you can see there is some white wall paint on the one corner. Pair Art Deco Nouveau Slip Slipper Shade Sconces Wall Lights Fixtures
These are a beautiful pair of original Art Deco slip shade sconces. Very nice detailed design in shades and sconce holders. The finish on the the back plates looks to be original and is great shape but could use some cleaning. The detailed shades are beautiful with the original orange highlights and are in great shape. There is a teeny sliver chip on the side of one shade near the fitter(barely noticable only mentioned for accuracy) and a thin line on the fitter tab of the other one that is not seen when shade is in fitter. See pictures. The electrical and switches do work but they have cloth wiring and should be checked by a professional or rewired. See picture of one of the sconces lighted. very good condition considering age(not sure exactly around 1940's my guess sockets may have been replaced or rewired plastic insulation) one glass globe has tiny chip on top but also has the frosted look so my have come from factory. 3/8" thick glass. frosted and hand painted. globes are 7 1/2" tall 5" wide and 4" deep. sconces are light weight pot metal or aluminum not sure non magnetic. they are dark brown. not sure if original paint but they do match shades. they measure 9 3/8 x 5 1/2. very ornate. no markings that i can see except on leviton sockets/switches. one is missing switch nob but still seems to work.

PAIR VINTAGE ART DECO SLIP SHADE SCONCES BY MARKEL
Two vintage Art Deco slip shade sconces made by Markel in the late 1920s or early 1930s. The sconces are made of a heavy. Solid metal(steel, perhaps? One(shown on the left in photo 1 and in photo 2) has the original painted finish, which is in good condition. With a nice, aged patina. The other(shown on the right in photo 1 and in photo 4) has been repainted. The sconce on the left appears to have been rewired and given a new socket in the not-too-distant past. The sconce on the right appears to have the original socket and wiring. They are both missing the original mounting bolts and glass slip shades. Photo 7 shows the shades that originally came with these sconces; these slip shades turn up on eBay every so often. So you can find replacements. These near 100 year old matching pair of Art Deco Wall Sconces are a stunning examples of Art Deco. With their tiered glass shaded sconces and stylized design. They are in remarkably well preserved condition for their age. The original glass shades are light golden amber with a satin finish and diffuse light beautifully. They are in very good condition. Except for a few minor chips, flaking and roughness, which cannot be seen when displayed. Most of these can be seen in the photos, few can not as they are so small. This is a fabulous pair of mid-century modern slip-shade sconces with flashed white glass and nickel-plating. Each light fixture has an understated round backplate with a nickel-plated lattice slip-in shade holder. The rectangular slipper shades taper from top to bottom and feature geometric raised lines. Antique 1930s Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces
A very fine pair of antique. Circa 1920's, gilt white metal electric sconces with Peach iridescent chevron glass slip in shades. The Sconces are made by the Markel Electric company. They have been rewired, and have new brass turn switches. The sconces measure 10-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" wide, the shades 3-1/2" deep from the wall. Excellent condition: white metal without breaks or losses, original finish. The glass is without cracks though there may be a few flea bites which don't show when in sconces. Both shades have chips, one with a stable crack where it slides into the sconce. The second one may have a hairline, looks more like a casting line. Have photo's of both included. Pair of Antique Batwing Slip Shade Sconces - Art Deco Nouveau - Wall Light
Available here is a pair of slip shade sconces. These sconces feature the highly desirable batwing slip shades. I can find no damage to the shades. The metal sconces have a machine age look. They retain the original polychrome finish; including gold. Silver, blue, yellow and red colors. I can find no damage or issues with the sconces. They do have new sockets and new rotary switches. The wiring is up-to-date and the on/off rotary switch does work. While the rotary switch internals are new. I was able to retain the original knobs. The original knobs have the polychrome finish and wear from years of use. Any wiring seen in the photos would be hidden when installed properly. Available here is a set of four slip shade sconces. The amber colored shades feature a floral design and leaf pattern on the three visible sides. The depth of the moulded glass displays very nicely when the sconces are lit. The glass shades sit within the metal fixture around the socket. I can find no damage to the shades. The metal sconces also feature a floral design that compliments the shades very well. I am not sure of the base metal. But these sconces have a bronze finish. This purchase includes 3 sconce metal back plates and one glass shade. With the shade in place. The sconce measures approximately 11 in length, 5.5 inches wide and extends from the wall 5 inches. The shade is a rare original with no cracks or large chips. It does need to be cleaned. Please review our posted photos to see the factory finish on this shade. Much of the shade has a factory applied brown paint however the manufacturer left some of the shade's clear glass exposed ~ which resembles clear pinstriping the length of the shade and also a clear glass tip. These sconces were made by the Lightolier company in New York between 1920 and 1930. These are high end designer sconces and becoming very hard to find on the retail market. The shades are opalescent glass with hand painted designs. All of the shades are signed Lightolier around the fitter rim as you can see. 3 of the designs match and one is different however it is still the same model of sconce and they were originally purchased this way(it may have been for a separate room in the home) Please note. One of the shades is chipped as you can see in the last picture. Up for auction is a gorgeous and rare set of 2 original vintage working wall sconces from the Art Deco period. According to our research. This series of Art Deco lights was made by Lincoln Mfg of Detroit, MI, circa 1935, a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era. Lincoln named this the" Fleurette Group" These sconce comes with pale pink frosted glass slip shades featuring a floral design. They set is in excellent condition and has a gold color to the sconce with pale pinkish glass slip shade. Sconce could be fairly easily polished to silver. These lights have been re-wired and are able to be plugged individually into a 110 wall outlet. We always recommend that you have an electrician verify the safety on items like this, though, as we did NOT do the re-wiring. But we have used them and they work fine. Here is a pair of nice 1920's Williamson Beardslee 1920's art deco slip shade wall sconces. Model# 081. Great condition with the original glass shades. Original manufacturer's stickers still in the back on both sconces. Slip shades in good condition also. One chipped in the back on the part that slides into the lamp, so chip is not visible when attached to the lamp. Other shade has a minimal chip right on the top rim. Maybe 1/8 inch in size, only visible when looking up close and from the top. Wiring is the original cloth wiring and while it is probably working. 2 Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces by Midwest Lighting Company 1920's - 1930's
This is a beautiful pair of 2 art deco cast bronze sconces which I believe were manufactured by Midwest Lighting Co. circa 1920-30. They have a very nice warm coppery gold color to them. The sconces are slip shade in design but I do not have the shades themselves. The sconces have an abstract floral pattern to their design. Each sconce measures about 10 1/2" tall. And each is about 5 1/2" wide. The sconces are bronze and are quite heavy- about 1 1/2 pounds each. There is a bit of paint on the sides of each sconce. But this can be easily removed with fine steel wool. I removed some from one sconce and polished it up a bit and it came out very well. The sconces will need to be rewired and will need brackets to mount them to the wall. Set of 4 Mid Century Modern Sconces-Vintage MDM Slip Shade Wall Light - Progress
Available here is a set of four sconces. These sconces were probably produced in the 50s or 60s and feature a classic mid-century modern design. They were made by the Progress Manufacturing Co. The original tags are still intact on the back of the sconces. The slip shades rest inside the metal fixture. The curved glass shades have linear lines leading up to a white and gold checkered design on the top. Two of the shades have very small chips on the back lip of the shade. Please see pictures as the chips are very small and aren't noticeable when hung. The fixtures are made of brass and retain the original rotary switches. The wiring on all of these are good and the sconces work as they should. The metal fixtures are in very good condition. These even have the original mounting plates to help with the installation. The glass shades are in very, very good condition with factory applied gloss finish to the interior glass and what appears to be the original off-white finish on the outer surface! The shades have not been cleaned, however, I can see that they are free from cracks and no fitter chips. Any black areas you see on the shades are dots of finish loss ~ not chips in the glass. Each sconce has its original electrical which is made up of 3 vintage porcelain sockets. Cloth wiring and each back plate has a different maker of on/off knob. They are interesting all by themselves! Up for consideration is a fine large pair of well cast Bronze slip shade wall sconces. The Sconces measure 14.75 inches tall by 8.75 inches wide by 2.75 inches deep. They have a screw in mechanism on the back side to hold a glass shade in place. There is also a screw hole probably where the sconces were mounted to the junction box and there are 2 small holes where the appendages flow upwards probably where the sconce was mounted to the wall not sure.maybe they are just design elements. The shades are in good condition. No chips or cracks. The metal fixtures are cast aluminum. The sockets and rotary switches have been replaced. There are no issues with the fixtures. The sconces measure approximately 15" tall and 4" wide. With the shades, the widest part is about 6" They extend approximately 6-1/2" from the wall. I'm unsure of who manufactured these. These light fixtures are stunning whether the sconces are illuminated or not which makes them a wonderful focal point for any room! With a shade in place. Each sconce measures approximately 10.5 inches in length, 5 inches in width and extends from the wall by just under 4 inches. I believe that the metal backplates are made of brass ~ very heavy and not magnetic. The painted finish is cracking due to age ~ some people like this antique/shabby chic type of look while others may want to refinish the metal. There is no rust present and all of the electrical is vintage so they should be reworked ... moreelectrically prior to use. The three matching slip shades have a wonderful floral type pattern on the front and side of the glass. I believe that these floral decorations are applied via decalcomanias. The colors are still very vibrant after 80 some years! The shades have some fitter roughness and two have some minor chipping on the top edge. I have posted a close-up photos of these areas on one of the shades and have drawn red arrows to point them out. Most individuals leave these areas alone while others touch them up with paint. One of the shades has a very small black line/mark on the top front. Someone told me that this could be removed with a pencil eraser. However, I have left it along. PAIR Antique OUTDOOR outside SLIP SHADE wall SCONCES Federal REGENCY Art Deco
For your consideration we are offering this outstanding set of heavy glass slip shade outdoor wall sconces circa early 1900s. Each light measures in at an approximate 7"H x 5"A x 4"D. Condition and item specifics are as follows: Both fixture were recently taken down and were in working order. The sockets and wiring appear to have been replaced at some point and look to be in good condition. I do always recommend having a lighting professional go over all vintage lighting prior to installation. Both glass shades which are held in with thumb screws have some small chips along their perimeter but are otherwise void of cracks. Chips etc.Please view all pics as I've shown this in detail. The color of the shades is clear with a very pale amber hue. For some reason my camera shows a bottle green color in several of the shots which ... moreis not the case to the naked eye. Pair 1925-1935 Electric Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces
This is an excellent pair of all original Art Deco slip shade wall sconces. Originally. These appear to be of a cast metal of unknown composition, and then brass plated. Since their manufacture in the late 1920's to mid 1930's, they have been painted a beige color. These sconces were originally electrified and have all of the original electrical parts/components. For safety sake, these should be properly rewired, with current materials prior to being used as intended. The metal sconces have their original frosted slip shades. These shades are perfect but one has a shiny spot where the acid did not take to frost the glass. Please see all pictures for wonderful detail.
