Antique Art Deco Skyscraper Light Fixture - Milk Glass - Vintage Chandelier
Available here is an antique art deco light fixture. It has a beautiful skyscraper style milk glass shade. The shade is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It has a 6" fitter. The shade only stands approximately 11.5" tall and is approximately 12" across at its widest. The fixture looks to be brass and has been partially painted over. I am not sure of the best way to remove the paint and will let the new owner decide what to do. It has the original socket and cloth wrapped wiring. I have not tested it and would recommend rewiring it for safety. Rewiring this would be pretty simple since it is a single socket. When hung. These glass shades were on an old Riddle chandelier and matching sconces. The milk glass has a spongewear background treatment with a red. Blue, yellow, and green flower and scroll design. Metal fitters are inside the smaller glass fitter opening with 3 slots, I assume to keep the shade in place. The larger opening measures 3 5/8" in diameter. The smallest opening inside the metal is 1 1/4" and outside the notches it is about 1 5/8" I found one tiny shade which is barely noticeable. The edges are unpolished. It has been rewired with a line switch so the on/off switch is on the cord and it doesn't need to be wired into your electricity. Just plug it in. It has been done in all pink crystals in a waterfall style. There are seven 8" strands of pink crystals ending in pink teardrops for a total of 55 crystals. The hardware is gold in color. It is painted in shades of gold and green on a matte frosted outside finish. The inside is a shiny white milk glass. Paint is worn at the bottom on the center flower. Could be touched up easily. The rest of the paint is in excellent condition. It measures 15.5" diameter. By 9" high. The opening measures 14" to the outside edge and 13" inside. It originally hung from 3 chains with clips on the bottom to hold the glass globe. The person I bought it from said that the fixture part was bent and they threw it away. The shade is in great condition, about 6 3/4" high with a 3 3/4" fitter. The fixture is about 4 1/2" across at its widest point. The shade and the fitter together(including the connector loop at the top, which holds all the pieces in place) are about 12" in length. VTG SPANISH REVIVAL GOTHIC BRONZED IRON CANDLESTICK CHANDELIER MILK GLASS SHADE
We are pleased to offer this very beautiful and quite unique. Mid Century Vintage, 7 light, 6 arm chandelier. The fixture is in the Spanish Revival design with some Gothic elements present. It features a bird cage form which encircles a large, milk glass globe/shade in the center. There are 6 large arms with unique, tall, half shades of iron. The iron has a cut/pierced pattern which is not uniform and appears hand forged. The candle sleeves are very nice with a realistic, dripped wax feature. The iron has a bronzed/gilded finish which adds to its beauty. This is a GORGEOUS chandelier. It is in very good condition with only minor evidence of age/use. The finish does have a slightly aged patina. The wiring is vintage but in very good condition. The chandelier has approximately 15" of hanging chain but it does not retain the ceiling cover/canopy(easily ... morereplaced) The chandelier is not a heavy fixture but it is very nicely constructed.
