The shades are marked Holophanes. XE-40 some are also marked patented 1912. This Uno shadeholder style was used 1912 and into the 20's. Some of the Holophanes have flea bites on the ribs no worse than the ones pictured by my fingers. I don't sell items that are obviously damaged but I am not going to document every little flaw-these items are old and used but in good recondition. These sconces were designed to fit over a sink or vanity. This wall lamp has been washed, paint and most dings removed, and waxed. The canopy bell is 5 inches in diameter and will cover a standard outlet box. The wall sconces stick out about 10 1/2 inches, they are about ... more16"wide and 10" top to bottom. They should match well with a rubbed bronze finish on your hardware. The paddle switches are circle F NOS(new old stock) porcelain fat boy sockets-that work well with a crisp click. Easy installation ready, the mounting hardware has been upgraded with ground. Look closely at the pictures, there are minor dings-these are not new. This is a beautiful matched pair of brass. Filigreed wall sconces. Great for accent to a bathroom or hallway. They measure approximately 13" long from top to bottom, 9" wides with a 5" projection from the wall. They came from the ladies's room of the Paramount Theater in Nashville, Tennessee. Another of my"absolute auctions" 99 cent start& no dreaded reserve. BARN FRESH" from Alabama(really) I did evicted the spiders(and other critters) However(comma) these have not been cleaned. Not rewired, not tested. nice and dusty with all the"original" dirt, spider webs, roach poop& patina included! These are real"Adam's Family" or the Munster's) decor. VERY COOL. Herman Munster would be proud to own these! Lots of 80- 90 year old original paint left on these fellows(see photos) No notable damage to the main support structure on these nice lamps(you will need to find a good mounting bolt for the center hole(see photos) The main structure is a cast metal. This is a FANTASTIC and REALLY HEAVY vintage metal pair of GOTHIC or Medieval Double Candle Wall Sconces! REALLY IMPRESSIVE! The two candles are on an ORNATE SCROLL piece that extends out 4" and is 1" by 1/2" thick. They are very HEAVY! packed weight is 20 lbs! VERY ORNATE with four arrows and scrolls! This is very THICK metal! This piece is 10 1/4" wide and the scrolling is nearly 3/8" thick! It extends from the ORNATELY DETAILED back plate 4" and the candle holders size is 4 5/8" so you can use any candle up to that size. It also has a 1/2" rim around the candles. The back plate is LONG and measures 24 3/8" and is 5 1/8" wide and 1/2" thick. The design is in relief- or raised from the back. The design is a tall tree or plant with ORNATE scrolls. Flowers and leaves coming out of it and ... morethe base is a pedestal vase. There is a large flower on top too. The back is a black velvet like material and has two holes for the nails on top. Great condition with no breaks or dents and only a slight discoloration in the metal at the top corner of one of the sconces and a dot on the other one done when made. I apologize for not being able to really capture the BEAUTY of these sconces but it seems although I took a LOT of photos the full length ones came out dark on the bottom light on the top! The last picture shows this sconce in a 1912 Peters catalog with a different shade choice-Peters did not market Holophanes. A few of the Holophanes have flea bites on the ribs no worse than the one by my thumb in the last picture. These items are old and used but in good recondition so do not expect new. These sconces were designed to fit over a sink or vanity. This wall lamp has been washed, paint and most dings removed, and waxed. This is vintage pair ornate double candle/light wall sconces/fixtures. The pair are a heavy. High quality, and ornate pair of vintage wall sconces. Each sconces is beautifully designed and have to lights that would come out from the wall. I believe that they are brass by their look and due to the fact that they are non magnetic. But I am not 100% sure. Each piece measures approx 10" tall by 10 3/4" wide and would stick out from the wall approx 6 1/2" Both of the sconces are in very good to great condition. I do not see any damage other than some normal age and usage wear. There should have been prisms hanging underneath the light arms but I am sorry to say that I do not have them. Except they were missing to screws that hold these 2 piece sconces together. I used new screws and because they were to long I add some washers. This is a Mickey Mouse set up that will need to be corrected. This is an easy fix along with the restoration of these sconces. Pair Antique Piano Double Candle Holders Wall Sconces Swivel Art Nouveau
Pair Antique Piano Double Candle Holders Wall Sconces Swivel Art Nouveau This estate sale find is a matching pair of antique piano candle holders or wall candle sconces. They are molded metal(brass? Bronze? and appear to be from the art nouveau period. I believe they are from France because the word"depose" is embossed on the back plates. Means copyright in French. Also on the back plates is the number 652 and another word. Possibly the maker's mark, that is so flowing and scripted that I can't read it even though it is deeply impressed. See pictures. Each of the four pegs that fit into the back plates is also marked"depose" and each is marked with an impressed number. One is marked with a 1. Another 2, another 3 and the final one with a 4. Perhaps that is the order they go in the holders. These are highly decorated ... moreand embellished candle holders. With multiple scrolls, bunting(on the candle cups) stars, and leafs. The cups look like miniature urns. The finish has a great antique look to it with small areas of gilding/plate showing through the bronze. There are some remnants of old candle wax on the candle holders. I have not cleaned these candle holders they are AS Found. Each back plate holds two candelabra arms that pivot side to side-there are stops at 45 degrees so the candles can't touch the wall or piano surface. They are 15" wide when taken to the stops and about 6" tall from the bottom of the plates to the top of the scrolls. The plates are 4" x 2 1/4" They weigh almost 4 lbs. They are in excellent condition with no apparent breaks. Welds, or chips. There is a screw hole at the top of each one so use a brass screw to attach these to the piano or wall.

(2) Set of Antique Double Arm Solid Brass Wall Light Sconces-Rewired-w/sockets
I used to polish all my brass lights until I learned. Not all buyers like the high polished look. Some like them just like you see these. If I polish them, I loose a little of the market of buyers because they like the patina left on the light. If you prefer yours polished, these would look amazing and it wouldn't be hard at all with just a little time and some brasso. I found these in the rafters of an out building at an estate sale. They wasn't in terrible condition but the sockets were pretty much toast. The lights used to have the type socket with a roll switch on each socket. One of the pics shows where the flange just below the bulb has the place cut out for such a socket. If you want, you could put this type socket back in it. The opening can be turned to the back so it can't be seen. I just think it limits as to where ... morethe lights could be used if the switch was on the socket. You could just turn it on before mounting them and the switch would then work them but most of the time these will be used where you can't reach the light to use that type switch. Anyway, it has brand new sockets and wire in it, so they are ready to use if this application fits your needs. These are solid brass and not plated. Judging by the sockets that was in them and the wiring, I'd say 30's or 40's but I don't think they are any newer than that. Beautiful matching set and well made. You should know their size by the pics I took with a tape measure. The shades are pretty common and you can still find many different ones to go with these. These are also versital because you can turn them up or down. Each shade holder only has 2 out of 3 of the screws that holds the shades in the light. Plenty enough if they are turned up, if you mount them turned down, you will probably need to make sure you have all 3 screws in the holder or the shade will fall out.
