Vintage Cherub Pendant Chandelier Light Fixture 5 light 30" drop rewired estate
Up for consideration is a vintage Cherub Pendant light fixture or Chandelier. The drop is variable but it can go from about 22 to 30 inches by about 11 inches wide. It is made of brass of which the cherub is holding a 5 light cluster that hangs below. The piece is rewired and comes complete with canopy and mounting bracket. No visible repairs or any problems. One should get an expert to look at the wiring before installing. It dates from the 1960's. This fixture can also be used as a hanging swag light as it has about a 15 ft cord. So one could hardwire to the ceiling or soft wire it hang from a hook and run the wire down and just plug it in the wall. It takes small chandelier bulbs. Maximum of 25 watts should be used. Bronze Mission/Deco/Arts& Crafts period hammered light fixture with 5 light holders. Chain and canopy. There are also 2 matching wall sconces. All rewired and ready to be hung. These are out of a grand home in Indiana. The chandelier measures 18" across the bottom. The body is 21" long and when you include the chain and canopy the drop is 39" It is much more attractive than the pictures show. There are no breaks, cracks or damage that I can find. This charming fixture was manufactured by Markel during the 1920- 30’ s. The chandelier begins with an embellished canopy. And an ornate stem attaching to the chain. Beneath, the chandelier body is an elaborate design with leaves and berries. Five chandelier arms, joined by a band adorned with a flower motif are between each of the arms. A lace like pierced design rings each light socket. This chandelier has been restored, and has been rewired. The ugly flaking paint was stripped to the bare metal. A pretty. Classic look(I have something similar hanging in my front hall, my house having been wired in about 1917-9) with a brand new socket and fresh wiring. The shade is in great condition, about 6 3/4" high with a 3 3/4" fitter. The fixture is about 4 1/2" across at its widest point. The shade and the fitter together(including the connector loop at the top, which holds all the pieces in place) are about 12" in length. The chandelier top has a row of clear beads with original red prisms hanging from it. A row of faceted beads run down to each light and a row of faceted beads connecting each light. The cobalt blue prisms were replaced with same color prisms. A chip or two could be present due to age of chandelier. Light has been rewired with new wire. Sockets and candle covers. A few of the prisms have a chip from use. The ceiling cap is 4 1/2 inches across. The light is shown with 5- 6o watt bulbs. However I STRONGLY RECOMMEND insuring your item. I have seen boxes with 10" holes in them and these chandeliers are not replaceable.

Vintage Art Deco 1930s Hanging Light Fixture Chandelier Rewired Castle Antique
I found this exceptional Art Deco chandelier in my grandparents home. I am cleaning out their estate and thought that this beauty was well worth listing. Please let me describe to you exactly what I see. My grandfather was an electrical engineer. He was good at rewiring. If I ever needed something rewired. I turned to my grandfather. This fixture was rewired by him. It looks to me to be a superb job. The hidden wires that are not seen are done with modern quality wiring yet he used new old stock cloth wiring for the lead wire because of the visibility. He wanted to keep it looking old. The green wire you see in the pictures is brand-new 1930s old stock never used. It looks wonderful. Although this is a 1930s Art Deco design. It would fit in a mid evil Castle look also. It has the pretty crowns and the color is original patina. I like the ... morehand hammered cups covering the candelabra base fixtures. I did not clean the fixture so you might want to wipe it down. It does have some green patina on it. Very little but it is there. There are no cracks or breaks on the metal. If you like what you see in the pictures, I believe you will love this fixture. As with any antique electronic or electrical item I sell. I insist that you have it inspected by a certified electrician to make sure it is safe.
