Markel Art Deco Chandelier Custard Cup Shades 3 Light
Three bulb custard cup chandelier manufactured by Markel Electric Co. with original custard cup shades. Chandelier body was disassembled and bead blasted to remove the dilapidated original finish. Repainted a neutral tan color very similar to the original paint. Lastly. Gold accents were applied by hand to produce a period appropriate restoration grade finish. Looks fresh out of the 1930's Markel shop. Rewired with period appropriate white cloth wire. Unique turned wood center body. Measures 25 1/2" long x 15" in diameter. PAIR VINTAGE ART DECO SLIP SHADE SCONCES BY MARKEL
Two vintage Art Deco slip shade sconces made by Markel in the late 1920s or early 1930s. The sconces are made of a heavy. Solid metal(steel, perhaps? One(shown on the left in photo 1 and in photo 2) has the original painted finish, which is in good condition. With a nice, aged patina. The other(shown on the right in photo 1 and in photo 4) has been repainted. The sconce on the left appears to have been rewired and given a new socket in the not-too-distant past. The sconce on the right appears to have the original socket and wiring. They are both missing the original mounting bolts and glass slip shades. Photo 7 shows the shades that originally came with these sconces; these slip shades turn up on eBay every so often. So you can find replacements. UP for sale is a beautiful set of 4 Markel wall sconces. I bought them at an estate sale some time ago and had them restored. I even had them redo the electrical sockets and switches. The guy that restored them put original Leviton turn switches on all 4 wall sconces. I only have two of the glass shades and two are missing. They have some damage like cracks and chips please look at pictures and judge for yourself. I also have another set of 4 of the same sconces but the were only repainted and don't have the sockets or switches. I will be putting them up soon. Vintage Art Deco Markel Lantern/Chandelier. Rare Find.
Georgeous. Completely original. Intact. This style is extremely rare. Was just removed from room it originally hung in. Beautiful detail inside and out. Dark red flowers, ivory and green colors. Cast Aluminum. This light is from the 30s, the casts for these lights were melted for World War II, they are simply not made anymore and cost thousands to repair and/or duplicate the original. This is completely intact- if used today for lighting, the cloth covered electrical wire should be replaced. Measurements: tip-tip including fitter and chain length-21" glass globe is 8" in length and is 5 3/4" across, fitter(fits on ceiling) is 5 3/4" across. It is truly a very beautiful piece and very hard to find among the pieces from that era, particularly in good, original shape/coloring.

Nice large five light Markel glass slip shade flush mount ceiling chandelier from the 1930s. Restored and has a beautiful copper finish with a satin sealer. The fixture, all parts and the sockets have been cleaned restored and rewired. Everything works well and looks beautiful. The glass shades slip firm and snug in the slots of the mixed metal frame which is on the heavy side along with the ceiling canopy. The glass is in very good condition without cracks, and minor chipping around the fitters, with a flea bite on the side of one of the shades not noticable but for description purposes. For the age they are great. This is such a great fixture for low ceilings and so much light can be produced from this chandelier with the five medium base sockets. Markel Art Deco Craftsman Peach 30s Glass Slip shade 3 light Fixture Chandelier
There are many choices in lighting. What is great about these Antique light fixtures is the quality that was in mind when made. This is a Markel made in the USA from the 30s. It has been cleaned and color matched with a nice antique gold. The frame is a medium weight solid mixed metal that will last another 100 years and the sockets have been cleaned and rewired. They are copper and much better quality than what is out there to replace them. The chain may have some paint nicks. But nothing noticeable and for description purposes only. The fixture hang is 35 1/2 inches with the finial and we can shorten that for you if requested. There is plenty of lead wire to add chain also. The fixture body is 15 1/2 inches and the fixture without the shades is 12 inch width when the shades are installed the width is 14 inches. The glass is in great condition ... morefor the age, a peach with a pearl. There is some paint wear on some if the edges of the glass and this is hidden when installed. There is one shade that has some paint wear at the very top inner edge and is shown in the pictures, there is some chipping at the bottom of a couple of the shades, please see the pictures. They each have the rotating switch in the lower front, and the switches"feel" like they will work fine. These are 10 1/2" top to bottom and the main base is 4 1/4" wide. The light socket assembly stands about 6" out from the wall. These take a shade with a base opening of about 3 1/4" across. I do not have the glass shades/globes. Each has the knob assembly for screwing it to the wall. There is some minor tarnishing here and there, they need a cleaning and possibly small"touch-ups" in a few spots. Nothing major. MARKEL Art Deco Chandelier Double Socket Vintage Antique Light Fixture
Up for auction is a beautiful Markel Electric Products double socket. Cast iron chandelier. The chandelier has been stripped of its original paint and repainted in an oil rubbed bronze-look finish. The original porcelain sockets have been re-wired with new wire. New cloth covered vintage-look wire is included from the ceiling canopy to the chandelier to maintain the vintage look. Original finial. Copper colored chain, and brass ceiling canopy( there are a couple of small dings in the ceiling canopy. See last photo) and hanging rod are included. The chandelier itself is 12" long. 5 1/2" wide and 10" tall(including finial) Overall(with the 26" of chain) from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial, the chandelier hangs 44" I also have a single socket. VTG 1920S MARKEL ART DECO 4 LIGHT METAL CEILING FIXTURE HANGING CHANDELIER LAMP
