These were produced for a number of years by Ethan Allen for a few of their lines including Traditional and Early American. There is hardly a scratch or mark on the chair. It is in the popular nutmeg color and the finish is great. All joints are tight and strong. It is 35 1/2" tall and the seat height is 16 3/4" It is very comfortable due to the great formed seat work that Ethan Allen was noted for. Maple Ethan Allen Heirloom Comb Back Chair Traditional Early American Nutmeg
Listing this evening a nice Ethan Allen Heirloom Comb Back chairs in very good condition. The chair number is 10-6040(hard to read in the photos) manufactured in plant#14 in the popular nutmeg color. This is a mates chair and although it have those little stubby"arms" it is not to be confused with the actual captain's chair of this style that has much longer arms. These were produced for a number of years by Ethan Allen for a few of their lines including Traditional and Early American. There is no damage to the chair and only a few tiny dings or scratches from normal use. There is very light wear to the very tip of the top rail and tip of the"arms" All the joints are nice and tight. It is in the popular nutmeg color and the finish is very good. It has been thoroughly cleaned and polished with butchers wax. It is 29 ... more1/2" tall with a 17" seat height. The height of those stubby"arms" is only 25 1/4" so these chairs can be tucked tightly under the apron of most tables. Leaving more floor space in a smaller dining area. As for the chair it is very comfortable due to the great formed seat work that Ethan Allen was noted for in all of their lines from this period. The chair can be found in the 68th edition Ethan Allen Treasury of American Traditional Interiors catalog. The catalog lists the chair on page#279 as item#10-6051 in the Nutmeg finish. I believe the chair was manufactured in the early 1960's. The chair is in excellent condition with only a couple of tiny dings in the seat that I could find. Part of the Ethan Allen/Baumritter Made in Vermont name is stamped on the seat bottom. This swivel chair measures 21 1/2" wide x 19 1/2" deep x 30" high and the seat measures 16 1/2" wide x 15" deep.
