In natural sunlight the gemstone seems to be transformed, colored an even paler shade of purple, with pink undertones. However in artificial light, the rose hue is enhanced, and the purple hue darkens as well. It is a bit reminiscent of a reddish-purple tinted ruby, except the color is much more delicate, or a pink-purple amethyst, except with far greater lustre and sparkle than any amethyst. This incredibly delicate hue imparts really rich character and great visual appeal.
