And was converted into a footstool, perhaps some time in the 20th century? The top is three-quarters of an inch thick. And measures 14 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches Altogether a nice decorative piece. With a good traditional country theme. The edges of the top panel have clearly been scuffed and knocked quite a lot. Particularly along the edge which is the"bottom" of the picture- the long edge beneath the Green Man's chin. Condition: Good condition. With no major damage, but plenty of marks, scuffs and scrapes from normal use. The panel that forms the top of the stool appears to be considerably older than the base and legs. It stands well. With just a little play if you wiggle the legs. It is a perfectly adequate footstool. But I don't think it is quite solid enough to sit on. Please see the photographs to get a good idea of the condition of this item. Postage This is quite a heavy item. Which is why the cost of postage is so high. Local buyers are welcome to collect.
