Antique Black Forest Style Hand Carved Wall Shelf
I am breaking up my collection of hand carved wall shelves. Moved into smaller place and don't have room. I have collected these over the years at Estate Sales. Ebay purchases, antique auctions, etc. I do not know the origin, but suspect it was carved in Switzerland or Germany around the turn of the century. It is in good condition and has only one small chip on the top of the shelf against the wall, so it is not seen. Dimensions: shelf 12" x 7" and height is 12" Carving of the bird and branches is in great detail. A real work of art that you don't see anymore. To reduce risk of breakage in shipment, I will detach the shelf(three screws) from the body of the shelf.

It was likely carved in Switzerland where these are known to originate. Dimensions are shelf: 6 1/2" x 10" height is 11 inches. Other than the broken fragment shown in the picture, it is in very good condition. You will see the piece and where it goes. Here on offer is a gorgeous antique carved wooden Black Forest wall bracket shelf. Dating to between 1890 and 1900. This beautiful piece is made from limewood. Which is also known as linden that has dark staining. It is has a design of delicately scrolling leaves and twigs on the back plate and wall bracket with a solid shelf. The only damage is a small piece missing at the top, see the second photograph. The shelf is offered in good used antique condition. It measures about 25cm by 31cm by 15cm and weighs 522g. The intricate carving depicts a man holding his hands out. The realistic carving and attention to detail give this piece a commanding presence. The plaque has it's original finish which is worn here and there down to the natural wood underneath. This provides a nice contrast with the natural wood and the antique finish. Offered here for auction is a fabulous example of a hand carved Black Forest Rams Head Plaque. This Plaque measures 10" from its original loop hole hanger to the bottom. And 7 1/4" wide. This piece is in excellent condition with a small crack to one of its top fancy curls, but does not go completely through, some tiny finish missing from one of his ears, and minor wood loss to the other fancy curl. Very fine antique French 1840-80 Victorian era hand carved Black Forest style 19.5" wall barometer with ornate solid oak case. Wooden dial and convex enamel on copper face plaques! Isn't this one fabulous! Nice larger size at 19.5" tall and 13.5" wide, also carved from heavy, solid European oak and the condition leaves little to be desired! An oak face with enamel ... moreplaques marking the various stations of the barometer. The entire face is hinged and opens upward to the wooden box backing. The barometer is actually fixed to the face so only adjustments would be made from the rear. The long brass hand has been at nearly the same position since we photographed it so I'm not sure if the barometer is in working order but the needle does move. A superb decorative accent no matter, wonderful condition and visual appeal! Don't miss it! Very good condition! The top enamel plaque that reads"Variable" has a chip to the right side. Filled with a white porcelain or enamel repair. No chips, cracks, damage or repairs to note where the case and/or dial are concerned.
