But I am blown away by the quality. They come with a blue, genuine mahogany label inside saying that the exterior is all solid mahogany, and that the plywood is 100 percent mahogany, and the association number is 139, which would be this furniture company’s code number to look them up. This was a code used by the better furniture companies that belonged to an association to prevent them from being copied by knockoff companies that made similar looking but lower-quality pieces. Do not get these confused with a Drexel or any of the other corner cabinets from the‘50s. These are bigger, of better quality, and the selection of flame mahogany across the fronts on the doors is banded and outstanding. They have their original cast brass hardware, and all the beveled glass is good. There are two shelves behind each glass door. It’s really hard to find a matched pair of anything, never mind something as magnificent as these pieces. The overall size of each cabinet is 40 inches across, 24 inches deep from the very center to the back, and 75 inches high. They’re finished in a beautiful light reddish-brown stain,

Both sides and back are finished& black lacquered on the inside. Scalloped over-hang edge. The main doors feature wood hinges housed in lotus-style displays. Metal pin latch is not available. The missing metal pin latches do not keep the doors from staying close. The style is sleek. Simple, and graceful. History: Ming Dynasty furniture was known for its simplicity with sparse lines and little decoration. Shorter cabinets served as bookcases or storage space for scrolls and scholarly items. In response to the enthusiasm and desire for rare and period pieces of Chinese art. We have been given the opportunity to offer this extraordinary PAIR of Zhangmu Compound Cabinets, Sijiangui. The cabinets are carved from rare Camphor wood. A warm reddish-brown Chinese wood from Hainan valued for its beautiful aroma and ability to repell insects. During the Qing period, cabinets of this type were made for upper officials and the wealthy to store bedding and expensive fabrics, like silk and robes. Cabinets of this size and caliber would’ve only been affordable to the wealthiest of households. With many ordered for Imperial use and this piece likely being owned by someone of official status. This is further supported by ... morethe auspicious motif of along the bottom apron of bats flying amongst clouds. A symbol of wealth and good fortune, as the word"bat" is pronounced"fook" which is a homophone for prosperity. It’s important to note that both cabinets are entirely constructed with the use of interlocking wood joints– no nails– and are made from all solid wood– no veneers. The cabinets are in very good condition. Consistent with age dating to the 19th century, measuring approximately 110 inches tall by 61.75 inches wide by 21.5 inches deep(280 cm by 157 cm by 55 cm) The bronze hardware are later replacements done in the original style. This is a rare opportunity to own a pair of 18th century wooden Italian corner cabinets hand painted in chinoiserie style. Which is a fanciful European interpretation of Chinese style in the design of furniture and pottery etc. during the 17th and 18th century. The dimensions of the cabinets are 80 3/4 inches tall by 30 3/4 inches wide and the depth is 22 inches. I purchased these cabinets many years ago in a fine antique shop in Connecticut. I was told that they were from a villa in Florence Italy and were from the 18th c. It is rare to find a pair, and please look closely at the pictures so that you can see that each cabinet has a different scene. These cabinets are not just furniture but they are a work of art. The colors and design are bright and very beautiful. There are some cracks in the wood and crackling of paint all due to age, ... morehowever none of this detracts from the beauty of these pieces. LIGHTING PAIR OF FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE KINGWOOD PARQUETRY ECOIGNURES CABINETS Late 19th Century Item# 1404ULX14-A This is an exceptional pair of late 19th Century French Louis XV Style Kingwood Parquetry Veneered Ecoignures. Mottled cream and gray thick hand carved and finished original marble tops position on short dowels protruding from the top. This framed with neat rows of dovetails locking the golden oak top into the sides and corners of the case. A single door on each cabinet opens over original brass hinges to reveal a tidy interior with a pair of oak shelves, the front edges veneered to match the case; these shelves are easily removable, resting on original oak bars affixed in the interior with steel screws. We've removed the ... morelock to examine it for a signature- it does not have any markings, the entire piece hand cut and hand forged from brass, the rough filing and chiseling still evident in the interior of it. The gilt bronze mounts are quite fine: the top corners overlaid with a deep and intricate rococo motif of twisted acanthus leaves, the apron hosting a sprawling display of foliage with scattered blooms of flowers, the sabots acanthus in profile and curling tightly in beautiful little toes. We've removed a single sabot and a single upper corner mount to examine for identifying markings, neither of which was impressed by the founder. These are a wonderful selection crafted with a level of quality and attention to detail that competes with some of the best craftsmen of the era- they remain in lovely condition with an attractive patina preserved under later layers of wax on the mellow surfaces. Anyone passionate about fine French furnishings of the nineteenth century will be positively delighted by this fine pair. To have a pair is unheard of! Box have nicks and chips some cracks in the wood and some drawer knobs are missing. With nicks and chips in the paint. Bits of inlay missing on the sides and top, some cracks in the wood and one drawer knobs is missing, two other appear to have been replaced on one of the. Some of the bone panal have cracked as well. All this is typical condition for the age of the pieces. There also appears to be some discoloration and some rubbing to the inlay. Door does not close properly on box 1. A Pair of Beautiful, Antique c 1730 Dutch, Leather Paneled, Cabinets Chinoiserie
A pair of lacquered. Hardwood cabinets that were made especially for housing these incredible leather panels. They were removed from the leather upholstered walls of a Dutch nature traders study/library in Amsterdam. They are decorated in a Chinoiserie motif. They were made circa 1730. I purchased these cabinets from an antiques and decorative arts dealer on Sacramento St. in the Presidio Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. The measurements are: 42” Wide X 26” Deep X 34” Tall They are painted and lacquered Chinese Red inside. We moved from Presidio Heights to London to Florence then back to the Bay Area. This is an opportunity to own a rare pair of hand painted 18th century Chinoiserie Italian corner cabinets. They were purchased from a very high end antique shop in Connecticut. I was told that they were brought over from Florence Italy where they originally came from a villa in Florence. They are just beautiful and they come with their original keys. The chinoiserie painting is a work of art in itself. Each cabinet has a different scene, please scroll over for details. There is crackling in the paint, and some cracks in the front panels of the wood due to age. This just adds to the beauty of the cabinets.
