Up for sale is this unusual antique metal hoosier style kitchen spice pantry cabinet with original antique country table. The cabinet has a beautiful folk art painted front that has worn to show it's history and character. The hand painted flowers are just amazing. I have never seen a cabinet like this- I purchased it at a local estate sale in Glen rock, Pa. The Estate described it as a Traveling pantry cabinet p ossibly from a traveling store that would go from town to town and sell specialty items and goods- mid/late 1800's. I have not seen anything like this one on EBay since I have been looking in this catagory. I remember seeing this cabinet when I was a kid in Dr Mc Danials office in 1962 with all the bottles and jars so clean and orderly. This medical cabinet came from a closed doctors office in eastern Nebraska. It appears to be the original paint with the original beveled glass on the sides. The combination of metal and glass makes this medical cabinet very heavy. I had a locksmith make a couple of keys for the lock. He is good at what he does. The lock mechanism moves smoothly.The latches that the key would turn to unlock and lock the unit where removed and could not be found. Description All metal with faux wood-grain paint and brass handle. Painted label on the front. Very heavy and well constructed. Good condition with age appropriate wear. It has some paint loss. A few scratches, and some surface rust on the back end. The label is mostly intact. The brass has the appropriate patina you'd expect on a piece this old. One of the rods has two patent dates on it. The latest being 1908. It has one card clip. But may be missing another. The knob on the bottom spins one of the rods, and appears to do nothing at all except spin. I think that another card clip might have attached to it and was moved or locked by the knob on the bottom. The switch on the top holds the drawer in place and works great. Measures 16 1/2 in. deep. 11 1/2 in wide, and stands 7 1/2 in. tall. I took photos with and without flash. This is an original drawer from an Antique"Hoosier" type Kitchen Cabinet. This one is the metal potato or meal drawer. The metal is rusty and is rusted through in 3 or 4 spots. The oak front needs to be reattached. It has the original handle and oak front. It needs an opening to be about 15 1/2" wide. 20 1/2" deep, and 9 1/4" tall. Those are the measurements of the drawer. Here is a metal medicine cabi net that was removed from a 1920's bathroom. It looks to have been painted at some point over the years. With some of it peeling/flaking in spots(see pics) The door sticks a little bit at one corner. Though this should be adjustable since the hi n ges are removeable(see pics) This is marked as being manufactured by'The Miami Cycle& Mfg. Co. of Middletown. Ohio. This is a nice and substantial piece. The mirror is beveled. And there are a few spots of miss ing plating as well as some streaking at the bottom(see pics) There is one spot where the cabinet is slightly dented(see pic 10) Though you can't tell by looking at it from the inside. There is a bit of light rust here and there. But no major corrosion. The knob on the door is porcelain. Available for purchase is an antique/vintage. Dark green medicine chest with mirror and crystal/glass knob. The actual frame of the chest seems to be in good condition, although the interior has been painted at some point and is flaking badly. The outside, dark green paint is patchy in the best sort of way, but could also be refinished. The mirror has some patina to it but is still clear enough to be useful. The inside has nice shelf supports, although the glass shelves would need replaced as none have survived. The overall measurements are 21 1/4 inches wide x 25 inches tall x 6 inches deep.
