However, there are some white marks on the second shelf. See pictures. One of the pegs in the exposed tenons has also been replaced at some point and does not match the rest. No other breaks or repairs. The shelves stand 26" tall and measure 36" wide and 9 1/4" deep. An antique Arts& Crafts style Cabinet with Shelves. We are pleased to present this antique Arts& Crafts/ Mission style Cabinet for your consideration. From a local estate. It is made of Oak wood, and features four(4) adjustable shelves on the inside. It has a single door on the front, with a decorative wooden lattice. The door is designed to hold a sheet of glass, but the glass is missing. A working lock with key is installed on the door to secure the contents of the Cabinet. The Cabinet measures 55-7/8 inches high. 28-1/2 inches wide, and 13-1/8 inches deep. It weighs 64 pounds. There is a label on the back with places for names of the different workers who performed the various assembly steps, but the names are unreadable(see close up picture) Some larger painted numbers are found on the back, and there is the number 252 impressed ... moreinto the wood towards the top of the back. We were unable to make a positive identification of the manufacturer. Wear to the Cabinet is age appropriate with nothing of a serious nature. Other than replacing the missing glass. There is nothing the buyer will need do to prepare this piece for use. Shelves have pegs which support them, with holes in the sides of the interior for easy adjustment. We rate the overall condition of this piece as very good. This is a gorgeous piece of exceptional quality that will deliver years of service. It would make a wonderful addition to your décor! It is made from Oak wood. And features a small Heart Shaped Cutout at the top. Although a narrow piece, it provides plenty of storage with a top shelf, a compartment with door, and three(3) lower shelves, all with backstops for your books. The compartment has a lock installed, but we received this estate piece without its key. The unit measures 43-3/4 inches high. 12 inches wide, and 5-5/8 inches deep. It weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces. There is a bracket on the back attached with one screw(shown in the 2nd to last picture) that could be used to attach the shelves to the wall. We did not find any marks or labels that identified the manufacturer. We date ... morethis piece to circa 1910. There is a small split in the wood on the back(see the last picture) But it is out of sight and the unit remains solid. Oak Barrister Bookcase Book Case Glass Panels Doors Shelves
A beautiful three-shelf solid oak(and oak veneers) barrister's bookcase purchased new in 1997 from a reputable South Bend. Indiana furniture retailer. This piece is in gently used condition. As you can see from a couple of the photos, there is a rectangle of dark space on the top of the piece caused by a lamp resting on the top and sun fading the surrounding area. One of the photos shows a wood stain behind a knob on the center shelf door. This occurred in the manufacturing and is under the polyurethane. There is some minor scuffing along the baseboard of the piece. Glass is very clean and free from scratches. When closed, the doors do a very good job of protecting contents from dust.
