But if you are not, it would be worth your time to Google them and check it out. This bed was built to rigorous quality standards and includes beautiful turned posts, brass bolt covers on the footboard, and the necessary center rail for optimum support in any king bed. The inside measurements are 78" wide and 82" long, and the outside measures 81" wide and 89" long. The posts are 66" tall. Henkel Harris closed in late 2012, and this bed was not as prevalent as those with taller posts. If you want quality and can't use the 7 foot posts, then this bed is perfect for you. This is a really unusual matching pair of solid mahogany twin size pineapple poster beds with the tallest posts and the tallest pineapple ... morefinials we’ve seen in a long time! The posts on the bed are 70 inches high on all four corners. The shield on the headboard is 50 inches high, and 38 inches high on the footboard. The inside dimensions are 41 inches wide, by 78 inches long. The side rails are gigantic, at 8 inches high, and 1.5 inches thick, with three angled bracket supports underneath that keeps the mattress set low for better viewing of the headboard and footboard. They have fluted columns, a Sheraton style cutout shield, and look at the finial, which is a leaf with a pineapple top. One of the pineapples finial was missing, and had to be replicated by our cabinet maker, who did such a great job it’s really hard to tell which one is the replica. The pair of twin beds are dark reddish brown and date from the 1920s or‘30s. One of the headboards had a light spot in the pictures, so we are going to re-spray and re-tint that section, where someone probably slept against it for years. It will be all blended in. Scroll cut mahogany panel headboards with blanket roll foot boards. The posts are tapered and flute with block and ring turnings with an acorn finial top. The previous owner added wood slats and bedding supports for extra sturdiness. Nice old set of beds with original old aged patina finish on them that will accommodate standard twin size bedding. The headboards posts are 52" high and the foot board posts are 45" high. They are 79" long overall by 40" wide. Listing tonight is a matching pair of fabulous solid maple antique cannon ball beds in great shape. Estate sale find. These are true mortise and tenon construction with through bolts for unmatched sturdy results. They have a nice cannon ball turning that goes with many different styles and settings. The side rails are massive and are let into the footboard and headboard. They have the original metal box springs that hang from angle iron brackets for support. These are more comfortable than today's box springs that will not last. The finish is a colonial maple, a nice color that is original and has some wear and scuffs but they can be cleaned up with furniture restorer. At time of listing it was freezing and would not work well. These beds have it all, a classic look with nice under bed storage and if twins are on the way, this set would ... morebe a great start to that special room. The mattress would be 38 x 74 inches to fit this frame, making a standard twin mattress perfect. The over all size is 39 1/2 inches wide and 79 1/2 inches long with 12 inch under bed storage and 46 inches to the top of the turnings. The metal box springs are in great shape and could be re worked to use a newer one but this is the way to go for a true vintage look. These bed's were well taken care of and they are much better than today's versions being imported. They are dissasembled and ready to go but way too big to ship so local pick up is offered. Sorry about the pictures. This set is much more beautiful than the pictures show. I believe the set was made in the 1930' s or 40's. I was told it was custom made. I have owned the set for about 25 years. It has been in a guest bedroom. The mattress and box springs on one bed is still in the plastic. The other box springs and mattress set are new. It is a one of a kind set. I could not get a good picture of the headboards. But they are like the footboards in picture 2.

Pair of Antique. Four Poster, Burl Walnut Twin Beds. Posts are 6’4” 76” Fluted and adorned with carved acanthus leaves and large detailed paw feet. Head board is large with scrolled top. Carving on Foot board post, match the craved acanthus leaves on the 4 posts. Box springs and mattresses sit 33’36” off of the floor. They can be lowered to“frame” height for older or younger users by reversing the box spring holders. These were my great grandparents’ beds. My mother inherited them and used them as her guestroom beds. They are in excellent condition.
