From what we were told, it has been ... morein the same family all this time. This antique bed certainly looks the part, and while it is in overall good condition, it does have a few items worth mentioning. The paint is flaking(see photos) and there is some surface rust, though this is nothing that will affect the display quality or functionality of the bed itself. At some point in its long history. The brass top bar was lost from the footboard. This again does not affect the stability of the bed. We have assembled it for show on several occasions, and all the parts fit perfectly and without the use of bolts or screws(again see photos) This, combined with the attached metal wheels, makes it easy to move around and store as well. The bed measures 79 inches long and 53 3/4 inches wide. With the actual bed frame coming out at 79 inches long, 54 1/2 inches wide, and 52 inches tall to the bed knob. Our research shows this will work with a full or double mattress, though bidders should be sure of the size of their mattresses before bidding, just to be sure. Offered is a neat old brass stencil for the Iver Johnson Dog Bed manufactured by E. Salow Co. of Boston. Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a maker of guns, motorcycles, and bicycles from 1871 to 1993. Whether these dog beds were made for them by another company, or if the dog bed was just named for the famous gun, I do not know; but this piece would make a wonderful decorative item in a primitive setting. Hello! And welcome to my auction! Today we have a Very sturdy and Solid Antique Full Size Victorian Iron and brass bed for sale! What a beautiful bed! The pictures don't do this wonderful bed justice! The bed is painted a dark navy blue. It also has beautiful brass accents on the head and footboard. Measurements are: Headboard: 62 in. tall(to top of brass finial) 53 1/2 in wide; Footboard: 48 in. tall(to top of brass finial) 53 1/2 in. wide; Rails 73 in. to end of pin) Some of the brass does have some slight tarnishing as well as some slight dings, but are very unnoticeable. All the brass accent pieces seem to be there. The bed has its original rails(which are VERY hard to find) The rails angle down and have some paint chipping as well as some metal chipping, as shown. Someone in the past, has attached a small wooden bracket in the middle ... moreof the rails, I assume to help hold the mattress and box springs in place. Also the right hitch on the head board has a small chip off the corner. None of these damages effect the stability of the bed at all! On the bottom feet of the bed there are metal rods, I assume to hold casters? This item is located at my home in Ashville, Al. The headboard and footboard are intricately covered in mahogany veneer in a diamond pattern. This bed has brass corner moldings and feet as well as brass moldings on the headboard. That is how the previous owner used it and how we have it displayed in our store. However you can also have a custom box spring and mattress made to fit if you should choose. There is a slight separation between the footboard and the post for the side rail on the right side of the footboard; check out the photos below. The side rails are slightly scuffed on the tops from past use. I do not know the maker or exact date this bed was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. Antique French Bed Canopy Corona. A classic antique French Chateau bed canopy“ciel-de-lit” dating from around 1880s. It has all its original 19 th century wood structure with hooks at its ends for fixing to the wall and a central hook for its suspension wire and chain. The underside still retains its original 19 th century old gold fabric with a little pleating to the centre. But this would be very easy to change if another colour was preferred. Vintage Antique Brass and Metal Table Bed Stand Adjustable Lamp HUBBELL Switch
Up for bid is a Vintage Antique Brass and Metal Table/ Bed Stand Lamp. This is a very unique(and adjustable) lamp and has"Hubbell" on the switch(see picture) This item stands about 7" tall without the shade or bulb and around 10" with bulb and shade(came with a 25 watt bulb which is not included) and weighs a bit under two pounds. To my surprise this lamp is adjustable in heigh t. The metal base unscrews to make this lamp go from 7" up to about 9 1/2" 12 1/2" with shade and bulb) This piece shows great patina throughout and is being left to next buyer as to how much cleaning is to be done. The wiring on this lamp is definitely older and may need to be redone. As you can see from one of the pictures it does(or at least did) work when I carefully and cautiously tested it! I cannot guarantee that it will continue ... moreto work without rewiring. That being said I am including pictures to show the plug and socket wires. Some fraying of the cloth cover is evident at both ends. I would rather err on the side of being cautious but the rest of the cord seems to be in fairly good shape. No tape jobs or cuts. The"HUBBELL" switch seems to turn nicely and has great on/ off clicks. The shade(which is non metallic) sort of snaps around the bulb. Pictures will show this mechanism on the inside of the shade. I am not sure of the age of this lamp. But I knew it was something different and unique when I saw and obtained it. Hopefully you will too and give it a good home. Antique 1890s Victorian French Iron/Brass Bed with Mother of Pearl Motif.
i have a Vintage 1890's Victorian French Iron/Brass Bed with Mother of Pearl Motif on both ends. This is an extremly old bed that is well preserved for it's age. I tried to take pictures from all angles. I have not tried to repaint or refinish this piece. I thought someone might want to do it differently. There is only some surface rust and all the pieces except three small brass pieces on the footboard are all their including all four casters. The missing pieces are the little cap that goes on the horizontal cross bar, the little brass section that goes down from the cross bar on the footboard to the mother of pearl emblem and one other little small brass cap. This bed has the following measurements, the headboard is 60 inches tall x 53 inches wide, the footboard is 48 inches high x 53 inches wide, the bed itself measures 54 inches ... morefrom side to side, the mother of pearl emblems on each end measures 60 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide. We are pleased to present this antique bed frame. Acquired from a generations-owned family estate out of Montana. From what we were told, it has been in the same family all this time. This antique bed certainly looks the part, and while it is in overall good condition, it does have a few items worth mentioning. The paint is flaking(see photos) and there is some surface rust, though this is nothing that will affect the display quality or functionality of the bed itself. At some point in its long history. The brass top bar was lost from the footboard. This again does not affect the stability of the bed. Turn of the century brass bed with patent label still attached. Manufactured by the Simmons Company in 1905. All parts are with the bed including frame rails which are not pictured. There is only one flaw with the bed which I tried to show in the last two pictures. One of the spindles is missing a weld, but you cannot tell unless you look closely.

Amazing antique Marshall & Stearns brass-like murphy bed -- full size, ca. 1920
Hi, I have a small house. Built in 1922, that originally had no bedrooms. Instead it had fold-down beds mounted on immense doors- they would fold up and swing into special closets when not in use. When I first moved into the house I got one of these antique beds working, and we used it as a guest bed for a long time. To see a picture of one in action, check out this vintage ad from google books: Well. Now we are converting one of the special closets into an office, and I need to pass this incredible"Marshall& Stearns" brand bed on to someone else. What you get is a solid steel and iron bed(which at some point in the distant past was painted a brass-type color) which fits a full size mattress. It has a folding headboard with a spring mechanism to help you lift it, though the spring is somewhat weaker than it must have been 90 ... moreyears ago. It also has two massive L-brackets which you would bolt into a wall. Or, to make life simpler, you could just set it up as a non-moving bed. You will need to be a little bit handy to get this to work. I have all the parts. And they all fit together and work, but this is a heavy item that needs to be assembled correctly. I did it by following the picture of the folding mechanism in the pictures below. Documentation of these antique beds is hard to find, so the picture of the mechanism is actually form a different brand bed, but it is quite similar to the bed for sale here and can guide your reconstruction. One metal bar(which adjusts the angle of the folding headboard) is broken, but it is a small and non-essential piece that is easily replaceable. This bed is available for local pickup only. The bed was in a guest room and was seldom used. It is in very nice ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION! it has very few and all minor dents and still has a trace coat of the original laquer finish. The casters are present but for one broken wooden wheel. The rails are original as well. This bed is what was known as a three quarter.
