Purchased out of a barn behind the house that was holding an estate sale. You are bidding on 10 vintage baluster stair spindles. The contents of the house were being sold by the children of the family that lived there and they have no idea how the stair spindles got in the barn, how they were used or how old they are. As a result I can’t tell you much about them. If you look at the pictures you’ll get a good idea of the condition. I can tell you that there are 10 pieces all together. Eight of the pieces measure 22” long and two have been cut down to 21” in length. Of the two that were cut down. Both ends are in good condition. Of the 8 that are 22” long, one end on three of them shows some damage, which might be why two were cut down. Otherwise they are in nice shabby chic condition. There still are some nails in a few of them. I did not ... moretry to repair or refinish them. I leave that decision up to the winning bidder. antique victorian or earlier baluster banister& spindles. salvage from an old house. not walnut not cherry. it is the color old cherry would be so it is probably poplar. There are two lengths. the longest banister piece is 98" with 8 spindles. the other one is 90" with 7 spindles. thats a total of over 15 feet. the 15 posts are 29" long total& the square sections are 1 7/8" there are 14 spacer pieces, they are 8 3/4" long. the banister is 4" wide side to side. one post is broken. all of it is in pieces because it fell apart when it was removed. it is a puzzle so if you are the carpenter you are going to have to fit it together& make it work for your space. it is in columbus ohio 43201. near OSU. contact me if you would like to see it. pick it up send a truck or a shipper. you have the measurements, ... morethe weight is heavy, no i didnt try to weigh it. the spots in the pics are the sun. it needs to be cleaned& at least parts needs a new finish.
