Vintage 8 ft. White Oak Step Railing/Handrail with 3 Wall Brackets This vintage railing is made of solid white oak and dates from around 1900 to the 1920's. The oak railing and brackets have been stripped and finished. The handrail has been finished with a natural wood beeswax and the brackets with a clear satin lacquer finish. The railing is 8' 2 3/4" long with the angled ends from tip to tip.The oak railing top surface is 8' 1/2" long and 4" high( which includes the metal u-channel mounted to the bottom) and 2" wide. The railing comes with three(3) heavy duty cast iron wall brackets that can swivel somewhat to your steps angle. The wall brackets measure 6 3/4" high and 1 3/8" wide and protrude from the wall 3 1/2" The three brackets are bolted to the 1 1/2" x 1/2" steel u-channel ... morewhich is recessed under the oak handrail(u-channel is mounted to the oak handrail with wood screws) The three handrail supports are evenly mounted in place to the u-channel but can be changed by drilling new holes in the u-channel( each bracket is mounted to the u-channel with two machine bolts and nuts) This oak railing is in a very solid and sturdy piece with nicks and scratches from years of use which helps give it a wonderfully aged patina. American Victorian Gothic Curved Oak Church Altar or Choir Baluster Pair: This is a twin pair of church choir balusters. I bought these at Red Baron Auctions in Atlanta(rbantiques dot com) These are solid oak with mahogany stain and have a wonderful gothic design. Each baluster is 125" long x 17" wide x 38" tall. They are in very good sound condition however they require having their finish restored. They are sturdy and make quite a statement. They are intended for indoor use. However, they could be adapted to outside use with the right amount of work put into it. The pictures were rotated in iPhoto and appear correct in my file. When eBay loads them, they get turned sideways again for some reason- sorry about that. They are being sold as a pair. Pole slides into front raised paws within a hole size of 1 inch diameter. They are sitting up right on their rear legs with Tail circling around their body on flat base. There are two holes on either side of base to secure lions to lower structure. Holes allow screws to be counter sunk. The Lions are in very good used condition with no visible damage. Antique Vintage Oak Newel Post Late 1800's Solid Oak 'Acorn' Finial #1
Here is a solid oak newel post that was removed from a home that was built in the 1880's. From the looks if it the original finish is still showing. 2 sides of it had railing(it was mid-way at the turn of the staircase) so there are spots where you can see the outlines of those pieces. In those same areas there are nail holes from mounting(see pics) This is one solid piece of wood that was turned, the finial is not a separate piece that was attached. There are a few nicks and scratches. As well as a few spots of wear on the corners of the post(see pics) but overall it's in great shape. The bottom is heavily notched, and there is still spots of over-paint on the post. See all photos for condition. I have some very nice pieces that I took out of one of my houses before it was demolished. I took all the parts for a staircase. Everything that you need except the steps. There are 2 Newel posts, the housed and open stringer(very thick) all the shaped, not square ballusters and all the handrails, even the trim that goes in between the ballusters. These all have white paint over them. But can easily be restored. I have restored many of my own items, and I know how beautiful these stairs will look. They would cost a fortune to find a solid piece of oak this large! I also have tons of door and window trim, and doors too. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures and measurements. The pictures of the refinished stairs are not the items that I have. But look similar if they were restored. 13 antique turned spindles made of either oak or ash. The finish is original. So it is worn and scratched. There are chips, scratches and wear and tear to the edges. The spindles were salvaged from an old house about to be torn down. All spindles are 27 1/2 inches long. 6 of the spindles measure 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches at the top square part, the other 7 are slightly larger and measure 2 inches by 2 inches.

Fantastic Relief Carved Oak Leaf 7 inch Plinth Block No. 1
I am not an expert at identifying types of lumber but I believe the leaf represented in this carving is a stylized oak leaf. It is a beautifully executed example of relief carving. The block is 7" x 7" x 5/8" I am also selling a near match to this piece this week. This is another item consigned by a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This piece can be combined with others to save on shipping.

We believe these to be made of oak. But we are not experts. They are a salvage item from an 1800s farmhouse stairway; some have nails in them and there is some remaining paint on them. Some have slight cracks in terms of the ends. But the basic units appear to be intact. Sold as is. See photographs. Square tops and bottoms measure inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter.

This lot salvaged from an 1880's Brownstone includes fou r newel posts. Three railings 114" 100" and 80" long. There are 30 thirty inch tall spindles/balusters(stair railings) and 13 twenty six inch tall spindles/blausters(landing railing) I have included a photo where I easily scratched off the paint to show the natural color and grain. Circa 1940 METAL MEDALLIONS originally graced the CHARTER OAK BRIDGE in Hartford. CONNECTICUT The bridge was redesigned& rebuilt in the 80's and completed in 1991. A Hartford COURANT article identifies the medallions(ORGINALLY four sets) in which one set was reused on the new bridge. These were found recently northeast of Hartford in a family estate- the'father' must have worked on the demolition crew of the old bridge& saved these items. They have great detail& were most likely cast by a local foundry. They measure 18.5" diameter& are 1.75" thick One has an airplane- certain to note the Pratt& Whitney or aviation industry in CT. these are in nice shape they have a little weather but the wood in not punky they do have nails. top and bottom are from a stair case and the corner post is complete the extra piece gave extra support. this is a very nice bunch. These came out of a house that was built in 1920 and they were going to burn it down. if a dimension is critical ask me to double check i can make a mistake i have made one so please ask. if you do not ask i have plus or minus inches 3.5" thanks for understanding. if you need ask a question and i will do my best to answer it.
