Famous Clyde Yachts Book Print Plate XXVII Olivette RARE Maritime Art Nautical
A rare offering- a single plate from the highly collectible"Famous Clyde Yachts 1880- 1887" by Henry Shields. Published 1888. The book plates are chromolithograph prints of Shields' original watercolours. The print area is 8 inches by 11 inches and the book page to which it is still attached is 12 inches by 13 inches. The backing page has some foxing and staining as well as damage to the top corners(clearly visible in photos) where it has been removed from a mounting at some point. The plate itself also has some damage and spotting. Please seen in particular the top right corner where a water stain is visible. Despite not being in perfect condition. This print is still lovely to look at and highly collectible. The colours are soft and bright; this publication was considered an extremely good example of the chromolithograph process ... morewhen it was published in the late 1800s. In better condition these prints sell for several hundreds of GBP apiece, whilst an intact version of the book sells for many thousands. The print has some slight buckling which is a result of the print process and the fact that it is stuck to the page; however this would be easily addressed with good mounting and framing. Altogether a lovely piece of nautical/maritime art and a highly collectible item. I will post this item anywhere worldwide with security appropriate to finishing price. Please note that any postage quote that appears in the listing is domestic(Australia) only and includes some leeway for distance and registration. The Church victorious book by Bishop Crotty 1935 first edition
Here is a great FIRST EDITION hard back book on church history by Bishop Crotty published 1935. Longman Green and Co London. Carries an introduction from by Bishop of London. The book has its dust jacket with some wear on the edges. A college library stamp on inside board. And a gift message in pencil on inside flyleaf, and a number in ink on cover page. The book is otherwise excellent 1st edition with clean neat pages. Dimensions 15cm x 10 cm Octavo 118 pages.

A lovely antique hard cover book titled Joinery And Carpentry& it dates to 1929. This is number five of four volumes that I found at a book fair. Originally there were six volumes. I only have four left so I am listing them separately in case someone else is missing a book from their set. It is easy to combine postage if you would like more than one book. There is a Preface which quotes: It is almost indispensable to the carpenter and joiner to particularly if he is keen to advance himself in his craft. To be able to express his ideas in drawing. Geometry, which maybe termed the science of drawing has been dealt with in volume two but the more practical aspects of the subject are treated in the first section. Veneering is dealt with in a practical manner and by its aid the young craftsman should have little difficulty in turning out a satisfactory job. Timber framed buildings are illustrated here. The next part deals with Design And Ornaments{ Mouldings etc. the last part is Shop Fronts And Fittings. The book has 743 pages in total with a Contents Page& Index at the back. These locks are made of cast iron are have been in use for well over a 100 years until just a few months ago when they were removed and replaced with more modern and more secure locks to stop the temples being looted. This is in Good Condition and is still working considering for its age and daily use over the last century. It has a long key that slides in to release a spring mechanism to unlock the long bolt that would be placed through both of the door handles as well as a small key at the top. Very basic but also very strong but I imagine it would be easy to pick these antique Pad locks. The key is not the sort of key that one would lose easily either.
