And there is no insert/tray There is no key for the lock. Lock information: YALE& TOWNE Mfg. Co, Stamford, Conn, USA# B54- lock is circa 1890's to 1920's- I am not sure of the material of the trunk. It appears to be a wood/fiber type material with all corners& trim being brass or metal. This trunk needs some major TLC, but could be beautiful once restored; the starting price reflects this. 1900's Antique Yale & Towne Steamer Trunk Chest Wood Leather Brass
This is a great antique trunk that at one time was used by Lumpee& Russ Harness Makers; I cannot make out the rest of the wording. The trunk is structurally solid. The valet tray has two holes but this could be nicely refinished. The top tray has two sections with one that does have the leather/button loop closure intact. There is no key in the locking mechanism that was made by Yale Towne MFG out of Stamford. Conn. It weighs just under 55 pounds. This is being sold as is. If you live on the I-5 corridor on the west coast(Washington, Oregon and California) I have a shipper. You will have to find a way to transport this and I suggest using uship.com- I have had good results with them. It measures 35" x 20.5" x 22.7" high)

Early Vintage Round Top Decorative Wood/Metal Trunk w/Yale & Towne Lock
This trunk has been part of my family since I can remember. I believe that my father had it in the early 1930's but can't verify that. It could be older or newer. It measures 23" high. 19"wide and 34" long. The trunk is made of some type of metal with wooden stays. It has decorative tin type on the top and front. The lock has no key. It reads- Yale& Towne Mfg. Co/ shamrock around the keyhole with Y& T/ Stanford Conn. U.S.A. AB The round top has 5 wooden stays. 4 on the front and back and 3 on the bottom. The rollers are in working condition. The inside has no tray or decorations. As you can see. The inside of the top has some crayon marks(probably from my sister! a small crack by the hinge, and two strips of duct tape on the bottom that can easily be removed. This trunk has been moved to a lot of different houses ... morein its lifetime and is still in very good condition for its age. The trunk is in excellent working and cosmetic condition and is really very well made. Inside and outside, and appointed with all working Yale locks with two keys, working drawers and hinges. The trunk closes and locks tightly. The hangers are beautiful wood craftsmanship. All of the brass and the exterior of the trunk is in very good condition. The leather strapping is not intact on the front of the trunk. The lock assemble is missing the clasp and will have to be repaired. This trunk was picked up at an estate sale and was inside of a home. The interior of the trunk is in fair condition with some staining and tattering of the lining noted. Vintage steamer Wardrobe National Trunk Corp - Yale lock - labeled Brooklyn , NY
Very old green Wardrobe Trunk made by National Trunk Corporation- Racine.Wisconsin. This item was obtained from the estate of a 101 year old man in Brooklyn. NY in 1971. It's time to find a new home for it with someone who can appreciate it and possibly restore it. The trunk is made of" Genuine Hard Vulcanized Trunk Fibre" per the label on it. It measures approximately 21" X 21" x 40. It has the initials" T.A.S. and Brooklyn. NY" painted on one end. The brass lock is labeled" 438 The Yale& Towne Mfg Co. There is no key. There is damage near the lock from being pried open. There is some white paint splatter on the outside of the trunk. The inside of the trunk is in surprisingly good shape. The bottom of one side is missing some fabric. The top on one side pops up. And there are two pull-out rails ... morefor hanging clothes. The drawers on the other side are in great shape inside and out. All functional. The original leather handle on the top of trunk is coming apart. If you have any questions. Feel free to ask.

Vintage 1920's Hartmann Wardrobe Travel Trunk with Yale Key- Beautiful Condition
It's rare to find a vintage 1920's Hartmann wardrobe travel steamer trunk with its Yale key in this condition. All of the buckles and hardware on this piece are in working order. It comes with 2 straight bar hangers; 2 specialty hangers; and 5 coat/shirt/dress hangers. It has the original wood and metal bars that would have kept clothes tight and flat. The clothes bar extends 18" to pull clothes out for easy access. The trunk has three small drawers with cloth tie-downs and one large drawer with the original hanging hat keeper. There is some slight fraying of the cloth on the drawers from use but no large tears. The interior lid still retains its original blue velvet liner- still in beautiful condition with no tears or frays. The leather handle is stamped: 360 3" and the leather is in great condition. As well. The bottom ... moreof the trunk has seen some moisture but it still retains it structural integrity. Measures: 41" tall x 22-1/2" x 22-1/2" Shipping is free on this great display piece! 1900's Antique Yale& Towne Steamer Trunk Chest With Wood Brass-Pick-Up Only. This chest is from the early 1900s and belonged to my Grandmother. It is marked Yale& Towne. Stanford, Connecticut, on the lock plate. Nice condition for its age. There is some wear on the handles, exterior, and interior tray. No key, but very usable since it latches. I believe the latch will lock, but untested due to lack of key. See Photos. Any questions, please write.
