French Industrial Hure Dining / Restaurant Pub Table Vintage
I have a love for the old cast iron bases made from the late 1800s to the 1940s. A French machinist named P. Hure built many different lathes and milling machines that stood on them. They are rare and very hard to find. Especially in America, so I built this base as a tribute to him. It’s built with 1/4″ thick steel which is the heaviest gauge we’ve used to date. And the large connecting screw has a 2″ diameter with a 3″ nut that holds the two bases together. It’s massive and curvy lines blend well to support the 2 3/4″ thick worn oak top which is adorned with metal trim and bolted corner protectors. This auction is for 1 table and 2 benches as pictured I have a love for the old cast iron bases made from the late 1800s to the 1940s. So I designed and built the A Frame to emulate them. The table base is made out of heavy gauge steel and aged to perfection. It has two connecting rods with large nuts that support and join the bases. The top is made of solid 2" mahogany and is trimmed with a metal riveted edge. The benches are made from the same 2" mahogany and have matching connecting rods. Vintage Industrial 6' Dining Kitchen work Table Cast Iron Legs
Custom made heavy duty vintage industrial dining or work table. Measures 72" long. 36" wide and 30" tall. Table top is old growth Oak tongue and groove 1.4" thick, it was reclaimed from a warehouse cart in a shoe factory. The Oak is incredibly dense and heavy, if you tried to drive a nail into in the nail would just bend. The table top has been sanded, but no more than necessary, still shows great character with marks and dings from factory use. I put three coats of polyurethane on the Oak for long lasting protection. The cast iron legs are also from early 20th century and were made by Chicago Hardware Foundry, the legs weigh about 35 lbs each. You're looking at a custom-made. Vintage industrial counter-height cafe table/ kitchen island with gorgeous age. The 2" thick salvaged butcher block top has been cleaned. Sanded, stained in walnut and given 3 applications of polyurethane to seal it. The heavy-duty top shows wonderful character and light wear, marks, dings etc. The 80+ year old cast iron legs came off an old factory machine and are embossed with, D.B.
