The metal detailing throughout is stunning. The footing I’ve never seen. The latches say“patd 79” and the middle plate says. Patd May 54 and April 73. Hence, this is pre-1880. The inside is rough but it still has all the Victorian inserts! The inserts are in really tough shape, ripped, water damaged but it’s all there. The entire drawer/insert comes out. Size is approximately 32”X25”X14” It’s all original…I won’t even dust it. IT STILL HAS THE KEY AND IT WORKS! And. As always, a few notes from the disclaimer department. Everything is“as is. Condition: Used Location: Edmond, United States Beautifully shaped camel back antique trunk. As far as I can tell this trunk appears to be from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The hardware ... moreis gorgeous! The shape of the trunk is great! At first glance. It looks like a gold painted textured tin exterior with black hardware. Upon closer examination, it looks like the trunk is wood covered with textured tin. A magnet will attach to all the tin and all the hardware. The arch accents and straight accents on the sides appear to be wood(the magnet does not stick but slides to the metal areas) The bottom has seen better days. The tin shows wear at the corner and at the bottom edges of the sides. I tried to show this in the pictures. The bottom has been covered with felt. There is no tin used on the bottom-it appears to be antique wood covered by felt. The interior has been lined with a cream colored polyester lining fabric. The lining was applied with upholstery tacks and a glue gun. Along the two short side there is a ridge of wood inside the trunk which probably held a tray at one time. In one corner. I was able to pull back the fabric and take a photograph of what looks like the original lining paper. All the nails in the top and sides look like they are original except 3 philips head screws that are used in one of the back hinges. I was trying to figure out why there were air holes on the sides when I realized that the handles are missing. The beauty of the shape is the main attraction. Measures 28" wide x 17" deep x 18" tall that peaks to 20" Very pretty piece. Looks like with a little work the original splendor of this piece would be a delight to own. These trunks are also described as Dome Topped or Hump Back trunks. No returns on this item. Local Pick up is prefered in Raleigh. NC. Shipping will be calculated by actual weight. Nice Refinished Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Tray
This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. The majority of all trunks have distress marks of some nature like this one. Local pick up only.

The inside of the trunk has been stripped clear of the inside paper. Captain's U.S. Army Trunk (Footlocker) WWII APO Hawaii with tray
Labeled APO 959[ Hawaii] Capt. Heyward M. McAnallen"Joining the United States Army Air Corps in 1940. He was stationed at Hickam Field, Hawaii on December 07, 1941. He later served in North Africa and England. Following World War II he was stationed in Japan, Germany, and various bases in the United States. He retired in 1970 after thirty years of service. There is no damage to this trunk apart from wear and tear involved in moving it around the world. I take that back- the leather straps are broken. But the tray is like new and the wooden bottom is completely intact. It smells nice. Shwayder Trunk Co. originated in 1910 and the name was changed to Shwayder Bros. Inc. Samson in 1939. In 1965 the named changed to Samsonite. The trunk has it's original tray and they are both lined in it's original patterned paper. These trunks are hard to find with their original trays and also it has old newspaper from 1957 laying flat inside both the tray and the trunk; the paper all completely in tact with no tears and really neat old adds with the current news. A little extra for the trunks history. The tray does need a small repair on the front bottom where it has become separated in the center. It's like it was hardle ever picked up much with them and they are indeed original. The front handle is a heavy type of metal I think and is all in tact. The handle also has a definate'1930's style ornate-ness' to it. Very unique! The trunk It measures 30" in length, 16" width and 12" tall. Up for bidding is this Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray. A s ilk lined interior and i t's smaller size are clues to suggest this was possibly a rumble trunk for overnight or weekend usage. A heavy duty b lack c oated canvas covers the case and serves as the hinge for the trunk. Piece is in very good condition showing some age on the leather seams. Stitching and some unglued canvas in spots. Top tray is made of a wooden frame with the striped silk fabric stretched and glued tightly over the frame. Silk is in fair condition with small rips indicating a delicate nature to the fabric. The interior is fully lined and was also glued along the hinge line. Staining is moderate and sort of expected for the age of this piece. Left lid corner is separated from broken stitching. Lock does not seem to work. You are viewing an absolutely beautiful antique Steamer trunk. It has been artfully restored to bring out the wonderful woodgrain. The base is Cedar. Not sure what kind of wood the very top of trunk is. But it looks nice. The dimensions are L31" W20" and H22" It has a slight arch to the top. Probabaly won't work as a coffee table unless you put a piece of glass ontop. It comes with a pull out tray and lock with working key. It has 4 free rolling casters on the bottom to aid in moving. The trunk was treated with 3 coats of Polyurethane by Minwax to protect it for many more years. The tin was painted satin black by Rustoleum. All hardware was painted in metal flake gold. The handles are original, but held up very nicely. Christmas is coming upon us soon and this would make a great gift for someone. This trunk is certainly ... morenot brand new. So it does have its share of character flaws. There are dings, dents, cracks, holes and stains in the wood. There are dings and dents in the hardware and metal trim. LOUIS VUITTON ANTIQUE STEAMER WARDROBE HAT TRUNK CASE RARE MONOGRAM WITH TRAY
You are bidding on a rare piece of Louis Vuitton history! This extremely rare and most sought after HAND PAINTED monogram canvas circa early 1900's is a special order steamer trunk known as the Malle Cabine from the legendary trunk maker Louis Vuitton and is amazing with its original tray. It has the initials MBC which was ordered from the original owner. There are obvious signs of wear that one would expect from a trunk that is over 100 years old but that just adds to the character and charm of the trunk. As you can see. This trunk in is exceptional clean condition. There some remains of some tape residue on the top left of the trunk shown on the pictures which is like a white colour. This can be removed by using some safe material however I just kept it the way it came. RMS Lusitania Cunard Line Antique Steamer Trunk Odd Tray White Star Will Ship
This is a steamer trunk. Circa turn of the century- The incredible part is that it was on the Lusitania! This was found in the attic of an old house in Waterbury. Connecticut. I did a quick search of passenger records to try and match the"H.A.B. initials to a passenger- there were many of them- this trunk most likely came from Sweden as it has a Gothenburg travel sticker. If you are interested in trying to research the original owner. I can provide the winning bidder with the address where it was found and also the name of the previous owner of the house. I have not identified the maker of the trunk. But it does have diamond-shaped logos on the latches. It is shown as found. But I will give the interior a vacuuming on request. One side has a travel sticker for the Lusitania. A Cunard Line sticker and two more Cunard Line checked baggage ... morestickers. The opposite end has a small travel sticker for the White Star Line- it did fall apart a bit. But the other part of the sticker is in a plastic bag in the trunk. The trunk has four small wheels on the bottom. And it does still roll. The tray is also included, and the tray has a very unusual piece in it- a round cloth ball on a housing(about the size of a cantaloupe) and a small steel device. It does have what looks like some grease around the area. I've done a lot of looking. And haven't found a similar one. The trunk is missing some parts of the leather handles and the lock is not working. Both latches function very well. Trunk measurements are 36" by 22"by 24" Shipping weight is 65 pounds. A very unusual trunk. I was able to find only two other trunks from the Lusitania in existence- one is in a museum. Nearly impossible to find another one. I will ship internationally by FedExFreight. For your consideration is this great vintage trunk. This little trunk is unusual because of its small size. Only measures 18" across x 11" high and 10" wide. The trunk is in great condition with beautiful patina on all the brass decorations. The inside is lines with its original floral lining and has its original tray. There are 2 small splits on the top front edge as shown in photos and no key for the lock. Unable to locate any manufacture marks but the lock does have the Corbin Cabinet Lock Co stamp.
