This classic Chest in original condition, and it has a medium/dark Walnut stain finish color on the outside. See pictures. This Chest has interesting carved accents on the front. And it has wide legs. See pictures. This elegant Cedar Chest was produced by the Tennessee Furniture c ompany. A fine furniture manufacturer, and it was sold by the Grand Rapids Furniture Company of New York. This bea u ti f ul Chest is secure and sturdy with some small scratches here and there proper with its age& w ear and tear. See pictures. There are some minor repairs and touch-ups on the Chest. Early 1900's Original Trunk Pick Up Only Colleyvillle, Tx
This is a trunk that has been in my family for over 100 years. My grandfather left home with everything he owned in this trunk. I don't think any of us could do that nowadays. This is all original and needs extensive work. The 2 compartments inside come out so you can layer storage inside. It has the original wallpaper inside! The straps on the side s are off and the lock doesn't lock. I know there are companies that offer parts and places that restore but I really do not want to invest the time or money into it. I have enjoyed for many years using it for extra storage but the time has come for me to start sorting and getting rid of a few things. You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's or a Cruise Ship in the 1950s. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. For your consideration is a small flat top miniature steamer salesman sample/doll trunk. This beautiful little trunk measures 9" x 5" X 5" It has been completely refinished to it's original look. This is a wood trunk with full metal covering. The trunk's exterior was cleaned. Painted and sealed. Hardware was cleaned and painted aged brass. It does not have a key. The interior was stripped of it's original paper then sanded. Stained and sealed. Added were new leather side handles, lithograph and new tray. Antique silver tin metal over wood steamer trunk early 1900's unique Rare 1930's
For your consideration is an antique steamer trunk. Dates to approximately 1932. There are stickers on the trunk. Which I did not remove. This is a large trunk, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. I was told that this trunk went from Germany to England and to Scotland and then to the United States. Measures 40" wide, 21" wide and 21" deep. This trunk does show wear, but adds to the history. There is some damage to the inside and made some holes on the underside. This does not effect the look, but would not make a good shipping trunk anymore. MENDEL WARDROBE TRUNK EARLY 1900'S
This Early 1900 Wardrobe Mendel Trunx is in beautiful shape on the interior! It even has the hangers and key! The blue material ans all drawers are in good shape. The exterior like most of these trunks shows some wear. There are two small tears in the exterior material and the exterior lock mechanism has been twisted and bent but all parts are still strongly attached. The latches are in great working order and the trunk can still be tightly closed utilizing these. All original metal is in tact and there is not a single loose piece. Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray and Silk Lining - Early 1900's
Up for bidding is this Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray. A s ilk lined interior and i t's smaller size are clues to suggest this was possibly a rumble trunk for overnight or weekend usage. A heavy duty b lack c oated canvas covers the case and serves as the hinge for the trunk. Piece is in very good condition showing some age on the leather seams. Stitching and some unglued canvas in spots. Top tray is made of a wooden frame with the striped silk fabric stretched and glued tightly over the frame. Silk is in fair condition with small rips indicating a delicate nature to the fabric. The interior is fully lined and was also glued along the hinge line. Staining is moderate and sort of expected for the age of this piece. Left lid corner is separated from broken stitching. Lock does not seem to work. And 40.5" long. There is some tarnishing of the tacks, and discoloration of the leather strip around a few tacks on the base only. We assume it was stored standing up on the base. It definitely has some slight mildew on the lower two drawers and the interior has a musty odor. From our research. It looks as though all the small parts and pieces are there. There is some slight pitting on the top metal hanging hardware. Inside three of the drawers are somebody's initials as seen in photos. 1900's Antique Yale & Towne Steamer Trunk Chest Wood Leather Brass
This is a great antique trunk that at one time was used by Lumpee& Russ Harness Makers; I cannot make out the rest of the wording. The trunk is structurally solid. The valet tray has two holes but this could be nicely refinished. The top tray has two sections with one that does have the leather/button loop closure intact. There is no key in the locking mechanism that was made by Yale Towne MFG out of Stamford. Conn. It weighs just under 55 pounds. This is being sold as is. If you live on the I-5 corridor on the west coast(Washington, Oregon and California) I have a shipper. Vintage Early 1900's Camelback Humpback Steamer Trunk Tin / Wood Beautiful !!!
Vintage camelback steamer trunk with decorative stamped tin on top. Front and sides. This is a small trunk as the dimensions show below. More manageable size than some of the very large ones I've seen. As you can see from the pictures the tin has developed a beautiful greenish patina. All natural and from what I can tell untouched as far as being refinished. It takes a long time to get that type of patina in the metalwork. It looks really awesome. Some original paper still remains on inside. Has built-in casters. Handles are rotted away as most are on the trucks 100 years old. It measures 30"Long x 16"Deep x 19"Tall. Workmans Trunk,good condition,eary 1900's
This trunk is in good condition for the age.It dates back to the early 1900's,it was heavly used, it does open and close as it should. there is a lock mechanism for this that I removed because I dont have a barrel key to fit it,I will put this back in for the buyer. the trunk is 37-1/2" long 22"wide and 21-1/2" high, there are 4 box type shelves that sit on the ledges inside the trunk. There are obvious signs of wear that one would expect from a trunk that is over 100 years old but that just adds to the character and charm of the trunk. Vintage Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Excelsior Lock Early 1900's Original w/ Hangers
For Sale is a Wonderful Vintage Wardrobe Trunk from the Early 1900's. It is all original. There are 3 drawers on the right hand side to hold folded clothes. The left side is for hanging clothes. Included are 4 original wood hangers. 2 can hold pants plus a top/jacket/shirt/blouse/etc. and 2 are just for tops/shirts/dresses etc. There is also an adjustable bar that helps hold in the hanging clothes. Everything is original from the floral interior to the hardware and two leather handles. There is no key but keys are still available and can be purchased on the web. The lock is an Excelsior brand which dates the trunk to the early 1900's. Stamped on the lock is"USA. Excelsior Stanford, Conn#5987. The lock was loosened from one side of the trunk to allow it to be opened by a previous owner. It is, however, all there. The latches work ... moreand hold the trunk closed. One is a little hard to open. I sometimes use a screw driver to pop it open. This trunk stands 36 1/2 inches tall. Is 22 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The exterior is a forest green color with black trim on the corners and white pin stripes. The floral interior is green and peach colored. It does show signs of use. There is some staining on the drawers, and the hardware, probably brass plated, has age discoloration and/or oxidation. Kind of gives it character. There are many uses for trunks like this from being a guest room dresser to a coffee table. It could be refurbished or enjoyed as it is. The pictures show what you are bidding on. This is a very early 20th century ANTIQUE CHINESE RICE FARMER'S LUNCH TRUNK.AKA A"CHINESE LUNCH BOX" This is an UNBELIEVABLE piece that originates and made it's way to the USA from China in 1930 but it's creation dates back to somewhere between mid 1900's to 1915. It is a very dark toned. Still beautifully glossed aged wood with a great inside storage and side inner drawer made for chopsticks. During one of his walks through the farms he saw a lead worker call for lunch, and watched as dozens of Chinese rice farm hands crowded around in a circle around what was a trunk full of food, plates and chopsticks. it was THIS TRUNK YOU SEE UP FOR BID NOW. The officer, becoming more and more fascinated with the use and look of this trunk every time he walked past the workers on a lunch(as well as the lifestyle and rich history of the village and it's people) finally made an offer to the elder lead farm hand to buy the trunk. Here is a vintage steamer trunk. Measures 39" long. 20" wide, 21" tall. Does not have a key. All parts are attached as shown in photo. Belonged to my grandmother who came to this country from Austria in 1910 so this trunk is at least 104 years old. Needs some restoration as shown in photos. Blue sides is some type of cloth material over wood. the bottom panel is metal as shown in photo. Hinges came loose and need to be attached. The wood shelf insert is cracked, but repairable. Please see below for important shipping information prior to bidding! Up for sale is an Antique Vintage Neverbreak Trunk/Suitcase. This isn't as large as a standard steamer trunk. It's a smaller case. It measures 19 3/4" x 17 1/4" 9 1/2" and it weighs 13 pounds. It's marked on the plaque on top"Neverbreak Trunks Manufactured by L. Goldsmith& Son, Newark NJ" It's also marked on the lock. There is no key included but the clasps work well to open& close the trunk. The locking mechanism does not work. The interior appears to have a newer lining in it; I don't know exactly how old the trunk is but I believe it to be from the early 1900's. The outside shows wear consistent with age& usage. The leather strap/handle has some wear& cracking. The metal parts(like the clasps etc. display ... moretarnish. There are spots of wear throughout the trunk& sporadic areas of damage. Antique Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk Circa 1900's
Beautiful Louis Vuitton Antique/Vintage Steamer Trunk up for auction. Made in France! The trunk in my opinion is in good condition. It does show signs of normal vintage wear for being over 100 yrs old. But with that wear and patina comes character and a story of elegant taste well traveled. This would be an amazing display or conversation piece. I think even as a coffee or end table and I've had some customers get lucite boxes made around them to use as tables as well and create a floating look inside. So many possible ideas with this unique piece of history. This is the Holy Grail of Fashion history! The trunk is early 1900's. The highest model you could have bought back then, this reflects in the brass handles as opposed to the leather handle option. The red stamp/paint is probably the initial of the original owner and can be seen ... moreon 3 sides of the trunk. Brass hardware is in very good shape as well and not nearly as tarnished as many others I have seen. The trunk has the infamous LV monogrammed pattern throughout, and comes with the original key. All brass fitting, hinges, locks, and details. Every inch of this trunk is stamped with an LV somewhere. Wood and leather trim. Leather is slightly worn as to be expected but still in tact. The wear on this item is on the bottom sides from traveling, more so scuff marks. The inside condition is in very good shape and could still be used to store anything, straps on inside also has the LV sewn into them. The Drucker" 1900 Steamer trunk. I believe they made these to use as shipping cargo containers for the big ships. And I was told that the finish was repainted at one point. The hardware on this trunk is fantastic as far as detail! There are some places on the trunk that have deteriorated. Antique SCHUNEMAN & EVANS steamer trunk-St Paul, MN- early 1900's-by Indestructo
I am offering this antique steamer trunk from Schuneman& Evans in St. Paul Minnesota. This trunk was owned by a wealthy Minneapolis couple and was shipped over to Europe for a vacation in the early 1900s and was shipped back to the US from Europe after the vacation with a trunk full of expensive. European clothes. I am listing some of the clothes found in the trunk as well) The trunk was made by Indestructo in Indiana and there is a serial number found on the metal tag on the trunk, which was used to track down the owner in the case of loss. The trunk is in very nice condition for it's age. There are four hinges on the back side of the trunk and all are intact and working. The" clasps" used to close the trunk fasten well. There is another mechanism between the clasps and I'm not sure what it is and have not tried to ... morefasten it into place. The leather handle on the top of the trunk is broken as shown in the photo. There are appropriate scuffs and scratches on the surface of the trunk as one would expect from a trunk that is from this era. Inside is the half of the trunk that was used to hang clothes. This side has a cover as shown. the other side is drawers used to store smaller items. Some of the pulls are missing as shown. There is a separate compartment with a purple silk( I think) covered holder for one's favorite hat and this is in excellent condition( Please see photos) The drawers have a white powder in the bottom. I'm not sure if this powder was put there as a talcum powder or if the surface of the drawer has deteriorated so just a heads up on that. The trunk is 23.5 inches wide and 15.5-16 inches deep. It is 43 inches tall and it is extremely heavy. This will need to be picked up, if you have a desire to see South Dakota where I live or it can be freighted. Based on what this was used for, it could probably be freighted with the clasps secured as this was a heavy duty, well made trunk from a very exclusive company and is obviously very high quality. Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk Embossed Metal Oak Slatted c. 1900
Gorgeous Victorian era antique dome-top steamer trunk. The metal sides and top of this chest are embossed with an intricate floral design that has been painted a wonderful gold color. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with braces at the corners and where it meets the oak braces. Two heavy leather handles on either side are worn and broken. Giving the piece an authentic aged fee. The metal lock and fasteners are impressed with decorative designs with an arts& crafts flair. Two of the oak slats have writing on them, which is difficult to make out. This piece is both decorative and practical for storage. It most likely dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Overall. The top one is divided into 3 separate compartments. All have intact leather pulls. The right side features a set of wooden hangers that swing out for easy access to all your clothes plus two more small shelves for hanging trousers or locking larger items into the lower portion of the trunk. Antique Steamer Trunk 1900-1950, Eagle lock no. 410
This trunk is unique from other Steamer Trunks of the era. At some point 1 inch caster wheels were added for ease of transporting 3 are steel wheels, 1 is wood. The covered insert tray is still with the trunk as well. It has some flaws, but who would not at its age. The lock is manufactured by the Eagle Lock co of Terryville, Conn. U.S.A. no. 410. That is printing in the lid saying water proof, and a note written in pencil on the back top of the storage tray not to sell this trunk. It is a very nice piece.
