Racine Wisc. so I think they made the interior pieces. One drawer is still here. Also has the clothes hanger. Was shipped by the Railway Express Company to my house in Savannah, NY on June 20, 1931. Part of the original Waybill is still inside the trunk, although it is damaged(Torn& pieces missing) All the shipping papers are still on the end of the trunk(in various condition) one latch does not work-it won't line up because metal frame is slightly off set. Original U. S. Trunk Company Vintage Antique Flat Trunk 35" X 20" X 13"
Vintage Trunk U. S. Trunk Company 35" X 20" X 13" This is a trunk that has been around a while. It has issues. The inside looks better than the outside. I did not find a key. The first wooden hanger that shows in the picture has a broken end. The end still reaches past the bar. But the bottom of the right hand side is broken off. On one of the other hangers the laminations are coming apart. There are two compartments opposite the hangers portion. The top compartment is on hinges. And the bottom compartment can be taken completely out of the trunk. Those two compartment are in reasonably good shape. There is a compartment than can be covered with a piece of cloth at the bottom on the hanger side. That compartment is in poor shape. You can see the splits in the finish on the outside of the trunk. It needs to be refinished. All ... morethe hasps seem to work. I didn't try to do anything with the lock since there is no key. If you live close enough to Tower. MN to pick this up it would simplify shipping. If you don't I will be happy to wrap this in cardboard and tape and bring it to the UPS store in Virginia, MN 55792. The package will be about 36" X 21" X 14" and it will weigh about 40 pounds. I generally ship things within one working day of when a person pays for them, but that won't be the case with this. The UPS store is about 30 miles from my home and it is only open for a few hours each afternoon. I go there most week days, but I'm not always there when the UPS store is open. I am listing this as a local pick up only. But I will ship it. When I have shipped larger items via UPS before the buyers have mailed a shipping label to me that they had already paid for. I simply brought the item and the label to the UPS store and didn't get involved in the transaction beyond that. For your bidding consideration; a very rare find. This is a Seward Bag and Trunk Company"Sewardrobe" antique trunk which was patented on April 13. 1915. In the interior on the left, you will find all the drawers intact including the tie downs. The top drawer has built in dividers which I am sure was used to separate the owner's"special" items. On the right, you will see the slide out hanger bar equipped with the original wooden hangers. On the bottom, right behind the hanging area, you will find four shoe pockets. Interior material is intact! Drawers open and close and hanger slides out with ease. The outside of trunk is in a little rougher condition. But I have chosen not to refinish due to the age and original beauty. The Genuine National Vulcanized Fibre Trunk was only in production from 1922-1965. This trunk looks by age to be from the 1940's. I did not take it to antique dealer to get the exact year it was made. For lack of time. This was bought from an antique distributor who did not know the exact date, so this is up to the buyer. Because the company went out of business this trunk would not be any older than 1965. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. All metal hardware is in place and the outside lock has a functional KEY. ... moreThe outside seems to be made of wood, which has some cracking, mostly the right domed end(see photo) The stains on the outside come out for a brief time with oiling. Would be beautiful if redone. Item has been used for the last 35 years as storage or as furniture. Also included in the 2nd drawer is a drawstring bag made of the same material as the lining in the interior of the trunk. Overall dimensions: 40" long x 20 1/2" high x 21" deep. Great as an accent piece or use as a table, seating or storage.

You are bidding on a Antique Vintage Samson Steel Veneer Foot Locker Trunk by Shwayder's Trunk Company Denver Colorado. The Shwayder Bros. Samson trunk was made around the 1915's or so. One of their early trunk lines was named"Samson" as a marketing strategy to promote the strength of the trunk. Later products are the more commonly known Samsonite Luggage. This trunk is 36.5"X 21"X 13.5" The outside steel has a little surface rust but the inside is nice.

A soldier probably used this trunk to store his belongings in(such as food or clothes) This is more than likely an Army trunk. Because it's in the color Army Green. No key. It's about 2.5 feet wide and about a foot tall maybe foot and a half. Antique stores ask over $100 for antique trunks. Get this Army one for only $50 or make offer!
