Which I did not remove. ... moreGermany and Scotland. Has a wonderful cloth pattern on the outside similar to L. Vitton trunks. Features 4 drawers and a wardrobe area to hang cloths. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. This antique china closet is a stout and sturdy cabinet with a serpentine front door, curved glass sides, four shelves with plate grooves in the back and the original key. It looks likes the left glass panel might have been replaced as there is a little gap where it doesn’t fit perfectly, but it could have happened at the factory. It is all tight and sturdy. The front door is 24 inches wide with a slight serpentine glass. It has a heavy crown molded top. The overall size is 52 inches wide, 18 inches deep at the deepest point and 66 inches high.

The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. Here we go there is so much to say about this vintage Wheary Cushion Top Wardrobe which is fully fitted with key and in amazing condition for its age. The trunk is a dark green with beautiful hardware. I have included lots of photos so you can fully appreciate. It stands approx. 42" tall and 22" wide and 10" deep on each side. It has 5 drawers(1) 4" cushioned with side pockets. 3) 7" lined in Wheary fabric with ties and a large bottom drawer line in Wheary fabric that is 12" The fabric color is a light pink in the classic Wheary design with W's. The wardrobe side is lined in fabric with a fabric curtain that snaps back and has the original hangers and pant hangers. There is also a secret compartment on the bottom of the wardrobe. The right half has 4 drawers on the inside, and the left half when opened has a hanging rack for clothes. Top also is cushioned and pivots up and out the way. Manufactured by the Wheary-Burge Trunk Co. This original antique Wheary Wardrobe Trunk was owned by Mr. Fred Beecon, who traveled the SFO to Hong Kong route aboard the SS Shinyo Maru between 1911 and 1926. The Shinyo Maru was part of the Toyo Kisen Kaisha fleet and last sailed in 1931 before it was scrapped in 1936. From what I've been able to find in my research is that Mr. Beecon often traveled to Kobe, Japan on this ship and stayed at the Oriental Hotel there. This trunk was advertised as having"more strength and durability built into it than was thought possible" and was built to endure long arduous journeys. Called the world's finest wardrobe, it has rigid construction of the corners and features a special cushion top to hold the hangers absolutely in place without putting pressure on the clothes. Measuring 42″ tall, 25 1/2″ wide, and 25 1/2″ deep, it has steel reinforced angles, a steel bar that locks the drawers in place, and is nicely lined throughout. Each original drawer pull bears a"W" for Wheary. Fabulous coffee table size! Perfect for storage or vintage room decor! The wardrobe itself has not been restored in any way and does show signs of it's age. Mostly on the outside. The interior fabric is intact and considering it's age, is in great shape. All drawers are in working order as well as drawer retainer mechanism. All drawer pulls, hinges, framing are solid and appear to be original and working order. The main lock needs a little work- it is a Corbin lock#WBA123. I don't have the key. But you can probably locate one online. The lock had been prided open and the leather handle is broke due to age. No handle on the opposite side. No keys. Overall measurements 40.5 x 22 x 22. No key to the top draw. The locking mechanism to keep the bottom 3 draws still works. I am not sure if the 2 rods are part of the original truck but were in the box when I picked them up. Antique John T. Barnum Dome Top Wardrobe Trunk Vintage Rare 1906
We have here a nice and rare antique wardrobe trunk. This trunk was manufactured by the Barnum Trunk Company in 1906(no affiliation to P.T. Barnum) The trunk is what you would have seen your typical wealthy traveler use at the turn of the twentieth century. A little research on the internet yielded the following information: John T. Barnum was born in Rochester. NY on March 5, 1857. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic in Troy. NY in 1879 He moved to Minneapolis. MN in 1880 and began working for D.D. Whitney, founder of the original trunk factory in 1872 In September 1880. Barnum and a colleague, Mr. Goodrich, took possession of the company from the ailing Mr. Whitney The Barnum Trunk Company was incorporated in 1905 This trunk is a dome top trunk measuring 53" high. 22" wide and 21" deep. It has a swing out drawer section ... moreand a roll out clothes rack. Both the trunk and the rack have the Barnum plaques on them from Minneapolis, MN. On the bottom of the rack the stamp reads Pat. Feb. 20, 1906. I have 33 photos of the trunk, if you are interested in seeing them send me a message with your email and I can send the rest of them. The photos show the condition of the trunk. At some point, the trunk was painted the oil-based blue shown in the photos. There are some original hangers and straps on in the trunk also. The only major problems I see are the missing leather handles, one wooded wheel is missing from the roll out rack and the key is missing. This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. The fold out drawer on the right side does seem to be missing(what I assume would be) the lift out tray. Two original wood hangers are included. If you are looking for decorative storage. Or a trunk to repurpose it into some kind of bar or coffee table, this is the trunk you are looking for. I have NO KEY for this trunk. But I have seen other eBay sellers offer Wheary keys for around $6. The lock mechanism and tabs appear to be fully functional, but to prevent accidental locking, I have zipped tied the lock tabs. What an amazing estate find! Atkinson& Long mfg co. from Petersburg Va made this trunk. Overall trunk is in amazing condition for it's age. Comes with original hangers and material. it doesnt look like anything has been changed out. Trunk lock is bent so it would have to be fixed to close it fully. If you have any questions let me know. This is local pick up only unless you want it freighted to you. We would have to figure out how much that would cost, since i have never used that service before. I've seen on ebay where you can purchase the keys for this trunk.

Incredible antique Dependo(Petersburg. VA) steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. The lock is no longer there, and one rivet is missing from one of the brass clasps next to the lock, but otherwise it's in great shape and fully functional. The trunk measures approximately 42 x 23 x 22 inches on the outside. And weights about 95 pounds. Opens standing up and has one side with a hanging wardrobe. The other side is a chest of four drawers in varied sizes. The trunk is available as local pickup only(Minneapolis/St. Paul area. It can be shipped. But email me first to get a quote on that- it looks like FedEx will charge about $150.00 to ship something this big and heavy, but that is NOT a firm quote and will depend on your location.
