The style is here. The colours are right. The marble-top is in perfect condition. Check the sides, they are as skillfully done as the front. The bronze is very detailed. There are no stain-marks or cracks in the marble. It is quite miniature, and could be a phenomenal centre-piece for any room whether it is an apartment, small flat, or a highlight in somebody's mansion. European, Possibly Italian Item# 120008IRU26 This is a work of exquisite craftsmanship. Covered in a thick mahogany and rosewood veneer. The colors exemplified in this chest are simply remarkable. Inlaid with fine marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon. Two large drawers make up the case, each fully dovetailed front and back, exposed on the sides. Crisp gilt bronze mounts grace the corners and feet, allowing the cabriole legs to terminate in lion paw feet. The shaped marble top is heavy and in wonderful condition, restored at the back left corner. Featuring a bow ties and garland that breaks over 2 large drawers, bows placed behind the handles(hardware) Note the quality of the bronze, feet capped with terrific pedestal like mounts. The marble is dark gray, with"clouds" of lighter veining. The unique half-round raised center features four book-matched pieces of hardwood trimmed with hardwood cove molding. The outer drawers are dressed with a burl.
