Antique Dresser With Mirror Approx. Circa 1940's
This beautiful antique dresser has its approximate circa in the 1940's. It is very unique. And one must stand in awe of its beauty and craftsmanship. As seen in the photo, there are six drawers: two small ones under the mirror, two mid-size drawers, and two large ones. A beautiful emblem(unidentified, but which appears to be somewhat of a royal cup) is displayed on the face of the first large drawer. The larger mirror is braced by beautiful, fancy spirals, which allows the mirror's angle to be adjusted. Beside the spirals(atop the two smaller drawers) the same emblem(displayed on the large drawer) is crafted into the wood-work. Beautiful Circa 1945 Waterfall Dresser with Mirror
This stunner was painted a ghastly brown when we found her. But look at her now! We believe this beauty was made by the Vaughn Bassett Furniture Company in Mount Airy. NC in 1945. The mirror was made by Galax Glass Co. The dresser has all the original hardware, the metal portions of which were stripped(yep, they were painted brown too) and repainted. The celluloid portions are in great original condition. The dresser is 42 1/2" wide, 20" deep and 34" high without the mirror. 67" with the mirror attached. Whoever painted this did not paint the mirror section so it still has the great little"inlaid" detailing. The refinished dresser matches the mirror perfectly. The top drawer features a 10" valet tray in the center. The drawers are dovetailed, fit great and open smoothly. The second drawer had a small amount ... moreof damage to the veneer, upper left side. This area was filled before staining so be sure to look at the photos. That's the biggest flaw. There are a couple very minor, less than perfect areas shown in the last two photos but this is in wonderful condition and the veneer looks great. This is available for pick up near Hershey, PA. Circa 1940s/1950s Waterfall Dresser with Attached Mirror
When our daughter moved much to her dismay she found some of her furniture was not to have a home in the new house. One of those pieces is this waterfall dresser(someone marked the back of the mirror"1960" making it 55 years old) complete with mounted mirror(we have the mounting sticks. But I chose not to mount the mirror to make it easier to move) The dresser measures 36" high and 18" x 42" at the top. If you look at the pics, one shows the inside of the drawer as very clean, all three drawers are clean. There is a nicked piece and I highlighted the pic to show it and a larger pic to show where it is on the dresser, the only other comments as to condition are that the dresser shows the usual wear on corners as shown in the pictures.
