Up for auction is an antique Macey Lawyer Barrister Mahogany 3 sectional bookcase. There are three gliding glass doors. One is missing a knob. All of the copper bands are in place and in very good condition. The top has a couple of marks and two wood retainers for a glass panel have split(see photos 10, 11& 12) For its age it is in very good conditiion. This is a mahogany top that I believe fits a Macey stacking barrister bookcase. There is no label. It measures aprox. 34 1/4" wide x 11 1/2" deep on the bottom x 12 1/2" deep on top x 3 1/4" high. It needs to be refinished and maybe a couple of joints re-glued, otherwise it is in good condition. We have a number of other bases, tops and doors presently listed. Lundstrom Book cases- Circa 1926. Three tops with original brass plate. Three bottoms and 13 individual book cases- configure bookcases as you please. Each bookcase is 13" x 34" Old wavy glass. Door are in really good shape. Solid wood. Light repairs needed on side of a couple of the book cases but does not compromise the integrity. Backs of all the bookcases appear original except for two. All knobs are original but 5 missing. Very beautiful. Great addition to any vintage library. Overall good shape for their age. Bookcases come apart for easy handing.

And I think it is mahogany, but it is possible it is maple with a mahogany stain. It measures 34-3/8 inches long, 11-1/2 inches deep, and is 7 inches tall. Before moving to my new house. I had a very tiny house, and needed to find a way to maximize my storage possibilities. Thats when I found out about Barrister style bookcases. And after researching some more, settled on the Lundstrom brand, as I liked its simplistic design. I traveled far and wide for years. Finally amassing these four bookcases, plus other Lundstroms I've still to list. Now with a bigger house. I find no more need to keep them, and am hoping someone with an eye for antiques and a need for plenty of book storage might need them. The top and bottom sections I have on these are less common than most of the Lundstroms you'll see listed here on Ebay. And for the 12 years I've searched for these I've only seen a pair listed maybe once or twice. But never have I seen a set of 4. I know the pictures are not the greatest. ... moreBut with all my other furniture and my low ceilings upstairs I had to set them up in my living room area which is already full of other furniture. They are in pretty good shape. A few(not many) have some paint splatter on the back sides(from paintint the walls of the room that they were in) of them from previous owners who should have never picked up a paint brush if that's how they painted. Some(not many) have a small piece(and I mean small) or 2 of the mahogany laminate missing on the sides. And those ones I bury in the middle so you dont even see the sides. I had all 4 of these next to each other on one wall. All are unrestored as far as I can tell and in very nice usable shape. They could use a good cleaning and some wax and they'll look great for another 100 years. They are located in Glen Gardner NJ. Which is exit 17 off of Rt 78.
