This heavy. Large table once had wood vises attached to each corner, I bought it at an estate sale but I believe this originated at a trade school. The wood is lighter colored than it appears in the photos. I put it up in my hay loft to keep it out of the elements but it is dark up there(sorry for the poor photos) The table top has definite character. With plenty of nicks and those wonderful peg holes- this would look great re purposed as an industrial style kitchen table or island(think steampunk) Of course if you need a heavy worktable that can really take the abuse then this table is your candidate too. This vintage industrial work bench has been reborn thanks to our handy staff. We refinished the original butcher block top boiled linseed oil and lacquer. We also stripped the cabinet of its original paint and rust and gave it a clear lacquer top coat. This stylish cabinet gracefully shows its age under a new coat of finish- this workhorse is ready to be put back to use! The tabletop measures 78" L x 25 1/4" D and stands 35 1/2" T. The open area below the tabletop measures 71 1/2" L x 17 1/2" D x 6" T. The top has been completely sanded smooth. Nice and even it appears to have a couple of(Dutchmen” fitted spliced in pieces of wood) in its top surface by this gentleman while under his watch A very good. Professional job THIS SURFACE“VERY” CLEAN* Three(3) out of the four sides of the butcher block are also sanded as clean as the top surface. However the forth(4 ... moreth) side still has to be worked- sanded as there is residue of what appears to be old glue from which I presume must be left from something that was attached. Perhaps some sort of backsplash- back board allowing for an easy clean-up when this work table was in active use… This butcher block top measures approx. 2-5/8” thick x 70-3/4” x 30” THE BASE: 67” x 28” cleat to cleat approx. measurements x 31” tall base alone/ The base has the original older painted surface. If one appreciates this look it is a battle ship grey that has aged nicely. Kind of an old washed out look with white paint peeking through. this painted surface could perhaps be preserved to enjoy that old look. There are two mounting cleats at the top of the base one of which has an old“sliver” of wood missing… this will not be seen when top is in place. One leg has an early scarf joint? Like repair that is evident but this early repair is on a back leg and is solid and sturdy! I only mention these issues for accuracy as they do not impede the importance of this butcher block table in my opinion. NOTE: I’m a little prejudice. This does have the butcher block top and the steel backsplash that you don't see that often. The butcher block top has different paint splatters that would clean up but I felt I would leave it up to the new owner whether to leave it or clean it back to the original wood. Vintage Industrial Table - Mid Century - Butcher Block - Desk - Workbench
This is a cool old metal and butcher block wood top industrial table or desk. It has three metal drawers. And the word“LYON” embossed onto the drawer assembly. The finish is a mix of light green paint. And patches of dark green paint, and a fair amount of rust spots throughout. The drawer assembly is grey. The wooden top is a butcher block style. Some of the pieces of wood on the top are slightly warped or uneven, and as you can see in the photos, the finish and patina of the wood top is very patchy and has various shades of wood colors. The right end of the wood top is a lighter shade than the rest of the top– it was sitting outside with another table covering most of it except the area on the right, and is a bit faded. Antique Repurposed Cast Iron Industrial Victor Scroll Saw Base Butcher Block Top
Very unique looking industrial cast iron base with a butcher block style wood top. The base is very heavy cast iron and is the bottom section of an 1880's Victor Scroll Saw. This is a true antique piece that at one point was foot powered. The raised lettering has been painted an antique red and then the entire base has been clear coated so it can stand up to everyday use. The whole table is just about 40" tall so it makes a great bar or bistro table. The but her block oak top is 42" wide and was recently clear coated as well. The Butcher block wood has been cleaned and sanded from industrial machine grease ect. yet still retains original dings. Dents, scratches and even the remnant pattern of a fossilised gear to maintain the industrial old world charm and cool of the piece. Overall good average condition.
