The trunk features a"cushion top" with a fold out hanger system with original hangers. The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. The trunk is still 100% solid. This trunk will make a killer repurpose project, you just need to use your imagination, is it a small table, a small storage trunk for a big city loft apartment? Steamer trunk is of the highest quality construction and with reasonable care can be used for centuries. Comparable to other top of the line trunks like Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor. A new trunk of similar quality would cost between $2500 to $3000 in today's economy. As expected for an all original Tourobe of its age there is also some scuffing on the exterior. Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. Three for suits and three for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections, a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a velvet covered pad to protect the suits and fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Antique HTF!! VERY RARE!
This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition. However. Like all original Tourobe's from the turn of the century, there are some scuff marks, scratches and such on the exterior. Look closely at the destination it traveled. It was sent from a teacher in Germany to an officer in Brooklyn New York. What a distance! Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. 6 total hangers, four for suits and two for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections divided by the hinges: 4 divided sections for folded clothing and miscellaneous items secured with adjustable fastening fabric straps. a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a cotton twill covered pad to protect the suits. which fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. 2 of the 3 buttons are functional. Antique Hartmann Gibralterized wardrobe steamer travel trunk 1920-1930 Mi
Hi up for auction I have an antique Hartmann Gibralterized travel steamer trunk. These trunks were designed to travel on ships or rail systems. This trunk dates from the 1920's to 1930's. It is very heavy and large. Measures: 20 x22 x 40 5/8. And has a weight of 95 pounds. The trunk has some nice labels on it. Has a piece of masking tape on one side that reads" Los Angeles" The trunk has no keys or hangers. I thought this would make a great coffee or end table. This trunk was in storgae for over 60 years. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. Awesome Vintage Gibraltarized Hartmann Cushion Top Wardrobe Trunk
This is an awesome rustic vintage Gibraltarized Hartmann Cushion Top Wardrobe Trunk! It would make a great addition to your house: You can use it for storage. A coffee table or even convert it to a liquor cabinet.great possibilities and awesome character! Hangers and drawers are included. The trunk also has the initials"S.G.P. on it! The main lock was broken by someone else to get into the trunk so that is not functioning(you can see in the pictures how the lock has been bent) This is believed to be from the 1920s and thus certainly has a lot of cool vintage wear. The bottom side of the trunk has parts where the black coating is missing(seen in pictures) The cloth is old and has wear to it from the years of travel. Antique Wardrobe Style Travel Trunk w/ Customs Sticker Possibly Hartmann?
This is a very clean trunk. The inner cover has a rip in it and I don't have the key. But the case is sturdy and the interior clean. The handles show some wear too. No odors or stains. There is a customs sticker from the US on the outside, but I couldn't read a date. This looks exactly like the Hartmann, but has no tag. The only name I found was the Eagle Lock Co and the latches. We are buyers. Sellers and traders. We work in the Bucks County Pennsylvania area. I do not currently have a showroom. But can meet you at our storage facility for pick up or inspection. Hartmann Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Floral Interior 1920's FREE LOCAL P/U
ANTIQUE HARTMANN GIBRALTERIZED VELVET CUSHION TOP 1920's WORDROBE TRUNK. The drawers and interior are covered with a Blue Floral cloth material and a Blue Cotton Velvet Cushion Top. This trunk is in good condition and exhibits the normal signs of wear a trunk would acquire through travel(See pics of travel stickers one reads PARIS) use and it's age. There are no keys. The latch seems to still be locked. But the trunk opens. The trunk measures about 40H" by 24W" by 41" Across when opened. All drawers are in*very nice* condition and it has 10 wardrobe hangers in perfect condition. Please take a CAREFUL look at the photos and ask any questions necessary. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

Rare Hartmann Vintage Stateroom Antique Travel Steamer Trunk Wardrobe Chest
Characteristics of Hartmann We are offering for sale an extremely RARE& UNIQUE fine stateroom steamer trunk. Came from an older Central Pennsylvania estate. Trunk has previous owners initials H L B. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the early 1900s. 1877: Hartmann Inc. was founded in Milwaukee. Wisconsin by Bavarian Trunk maker, Joseph S. Hartmann. 1905: Mr. Hartmann had a vision to build"luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence. Because of his vision. The company grew rapidly and moved to larger facilities in Racine, Wisconsin. This trunk has early Hartmann trademark cloverleaf hardware. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. This may be the only one is existence. VERY RARE Quality constructed. Trunk interior is fitted with American golden oak and cast brass ornate pulls with drop front hat box ... morearea that can be used as a desk. Exterior is fitted with rose and silver colored cloverleaf hardware(corners are cast iron and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated brass? which I believe the cloverleaf hardware was characteristic of early Hartmann. Canvas appears to have been a deep mahogany that has darkened over the years from the smoke of coal fired trains and ocean liners. Nice shaped edging of wild boar hide(pig skin) and fine brass tacking. The skin from a boar was tougher and thicker than other animals. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. The latch is marked Everwear TTC3 and Corbin made in USA. Stately Travel Chest Wardrobe Trunk These early trunks are very rare and hard to find and are as good as. If not better, quality and character than the fancy foreign trunks. This trunk has been well preserved over the years. Thanks for looking. Hartmann Tourobe Suitcase/Trunk/Wardrobe All original and in great condition. This is a suitcase from the early to mid 1900s. Comes with the original hangers and is in great condition. It has normal wear(scuffs. Edge protectors have scratches, and someone used a marker to cross something out on the bottom of one side) All the hardware is original and functioning. The Hartmann badge is still on and it even has the little patent label still attached. There is a small clear plastic piece with the Hartmann name on it and a piece of paper slipped in it with letters and numbers on. Not sure what it is but it is there and the owners initials are visible by the handle Inside is in excellent condition with no rips or tears in the fabric and all snaps still there. There is one small divider that is coming away(see photos) The exterior has some scuffs ... moreand scratches but no gouges or punctures to the shell. It has all the original hangers. Drawers, compartments and hardware, smells clean too, not musty! The latch works perfectly, but the trunk does not lock. The exterior is in great shape too. HERE IS A WONDERFUL RARE ANTIQUE HARTMANN AEROBE WARDROBE CASE MADE IN RACINE WISCONSIN. I BELIEVE THE AEROBE MODEL WAS MADE IN THE MID 1920'S. YOU DONT SEE THESE MODELS VERY OFTEN. INSIDE SHOWS WEAR IN CERTAIN AREAS BUT ALL PIECES ARE PRESENT AND STILL IN GOOD CONDITION. THE METAL EXTENDABLE RODS ARE A BIT RUSTED BUT ARE VERY SOLID AND FUNCTION JUST FINE. This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years. Great Antique HARTMANN suitcase. Trunk, chest. With KEY! Brown with riveted metal trim. This very old suitcase is brown in color with light brown metal trim. The metal trim is riveted all around. The handle is brown leather. And it's hardware brass. Suitcase includes it's original key! All latches still close and lock easily though the right side lock could use a slight adjustment. The chest also has all its original straps and hardware on inside. Trunk measures approx. 25 in. from side to side. 18 in. From front to back and 8 in. tall. Suit case inside is 4 1/4 in. deep. The item weighs just under 12 pounds. The inside of this lovely old trunk is actually pretty clean considering its age. Hartmann Travel Wardrobe Trunk Gibralterized Art Deco Steamer
A 1920s Hartmann wardrobe trunk with a great Art Deco interior. It is in good condition overall. And the interior is in very good, clean condition. The canvas covers look perfect, and both covers snap properly. The drawer handles are a particularly nice Deco design. The exterior shows some wear and staining appropriate for its age, no major damage. I didn't try cleaning the Gibralterized shell, but it may clean up somewhat. All of the metal corners and hinges, and the tack reinforced edges are in good shape with no breaks. The lock has been removed but the hinge is intact, and ready for a new one. This measures 23 inches by 23 inches by 41 inches. Standing with the lid up the height is 4 feet.

It's rare to find a vintage 1920's Hartmann wardrobe travel steamer trunk with its Yale key in this condition. All of the buckles and hardware on this piece are in working order. It comes with 2 straight bar hangers; 2 specialty hangers; and 5 coat/shirt/dress hangers. It has the original wood and metal bars that would have kept clothes tight and flat. The clothes bar extends 18" to pull clothes out for easy access. The trunk has three small drawers with cloth tie-downs and one large drawer with the original hanging hat keeper. There is some slight fraying of the cloth on the drawers from use but no large tears. The interior lid still retains its original blue velvet liner- still in beautiful condition with no tears or frays. The leather handle is stamped: 360 3" and the leather is in great condition. This listing is for a wonderful. Rare Hartmann Gibraltarized wardrobe trunk from the 1920s/1930s. This one has some really nice and interesting features. It does not come with the key. The drawers are all intact and include tie-down ribbons. The wardrobe side contains not only the usual wooden hangers and presser bar but two folding hangers. Many of these did not survive and they are very hard to find. The bottom of the wardrobe is finished off with a shoe section and a privacy/dust curtain that snaps at the bottom.
