Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. 1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. The two boards on the top are good and strong. It is a little dirty but will clean up nicely. Pictures will show you views of this item. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping. Up for your consideration is this very nice antique bookcase I purchased at an estate/consignment auction. It is around 51" high. 34" wide and 11" deep. It has glass pulls which I don't know if they are original or not. The stacks come apart easily and I can't find anything wrong with the piece. It does have a few nicks/scratches but nothing significant. Glass appears to be original. Could use a good cleaning but felt that was better done by the buyer. This is a pickup only but I would be glad to deliver to a shipping company in Cedar Rapids. Waterloo or Dubuque if the buyer contacts the shipper and arranges for the delivery.

Here we have a great set of antique quartered oak Globe Wernicke Stacking Barrister Bookcases- this 8pc office bookcase has a sleigh top and drawer base. It consists of 1 D-12 1/4 grade 298 case. 2 C-11 298 1/2 bookcases, and 3 c-11 298 bookcases. The bottom D12 measures apprx 34" wide x 14 1/2" tall x 11 2/ deep, the others are apprx 34" wide x 12" tall x 9 1/2" deep. All are in nice condition. Please see photos for more details. Antique Globe Wernicke 6-Stack 299 Grade Oak Stacking Lawyers Barrister Bookcase
Up for bid is a wonderful 6-stack Globe Wernicke lawyers or barristers bookcase made of quartersawn oak. All sections are the very desirable Grade 299(quarter sawn/tiger oak with the medium finish) Has the very desirable ogee(curved) top and bottom. All sections are size D-10 1/4. Bookcase is ALL ORIGINAL. Original finish. Original wavy glass, original knobs on the doors. Bookcase is ALL COMPLETE. All labels are present and intact. All glass is present(no cracks or breaks) All felt along the tops of the doors is complete and intact. All scissors mechanisms are present. All acid-etched side bands are correct and present. I rescued over 20 sections from a storage room of an old Chicago school library, and these 6 sections were in the best condition. Condition of the sections is way above average for their age. After 100 years the finish on ... morethese cases has usually"alligatored" Not here. Although there are the usual scratches and chips in the finish, which is to be expected(there is a rub of white paint on the right side of one section shown in the photos) the outside finish is overall extremely smooth with a nice gloss. The very top has the most wear and scratches as the librarians slid and stacked items on top of the cases. There is also the reside from 2 old pieces of cellophane tape on the front of the top. I can find no delamination of the back panels, nor any bubbling of the veneer on the very top. Being in a library for so many years has preserved them nicely. Overall size of the bookcase is 84" tall x 34" wide x 12" deep. If you need more photos. Or have additional questions, please email me. Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. The last photo shows how the top fits on a Macey D12 section, those sections are about 11 1/8"

ANTIQUE OAK STEP BACK STACKING BOOKCASE Globe Wernicke This is a great old Globe Wernicke oak step back stacking bookcase. From the early 1900s. It has been refinished recently. it has a serpentine base on the bottom, 3 stacking sections(bottom one is a step back) and a serpentine top. The finish is a beautiful red oak. The top was missing some of it's veneer, so it was sanded and painted brown, otherwise there is no damage, cracks or repairs. Has the original Globe Wernicke Turn Button retractor slides, works like a old roll up window shade) Signed on the base and top as shown. Measures, 46 inches tall, is 34 inches wide and on the bottom the step back sections is 11 inches deep the top 2 sections are 9 1/2 deep there are 3 bookcase sections and a top and bottom. This is a pair of oak stacking barrister bookcase side panels from a Globe Wernicke 713 model section. They each measure aprox. 11 3/4" wide x 15 1/8" high. There is some obvious wear as you can see in the pictures. We also have some other similar panels presently listed. You are looking at a Globe- Wernicke Sectional Bookcase A-C Single Art-Mission with a drawer and leg base. Someone did a lousy job of striping the bookcase but functionally it seems to be in good shape. It has the top. Two sectionals, and a base with a drawer with legs. It is 35" wide by 12" tall and 12" deep(each sectional) The base is 9" tall with the drawer being 4" tall.
