Never had another ... morelike it. Excellent cosmically and both doors operate perfectly. It measures approximately 41-1/2” high, 34” wide and 11” deep. The shelves measure 14” high and 12” high inside, so this is large for a 2-shelf. According to the labels, they are “Pattern 813” and “Pattern 811”. Both are also marked “Grade 299”. It has a replacement base that’s a great match and is better constructed than what it would’ve come with. Local pickup only due to size and how fragile these are, sorry. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping. Pair Antique Globe Wernicke Barrister Lawyers Quartersawn Oak Bookcases
Lovely pair of early 1900 barrister bookcases. Both are 72 inches tall. 34 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches deep. Both are grade 299 solid quartersawn oak and both have a desireable draw in the base. Both have bands and brass knobs on all sections and antique wavy glass. One top has extensive damage to it but cannot be seen because it is so tall. I took a photo of it. It could use to have the top part replaced but I left it alone. Backs are in good condition. All sections are labeled with the Globe wernicke labels. A great addition for a library or office. Paypal. Art Mission Globe Wernicke Grade 898 Quartersawn Oak Barrister
Nice old lawyers bookcase from Globe Wernicke. 55 inches tall. 34 inches wide and 11 inches deep. Label says grade 898 1/4 oak mission finish. Almost looks fumed. Has light wear, and 2 knobs were replaced. The others are real nice heavy original pyramid knobs and the bookcase has a rare drawer in the base with original mission pulls. Really nice shape. This is a barrister bookcase section made by the Globe Wernicke Co. I believe it is a model D and grade 299. It measures aprox. 34" wide x 11" deep x 10 3/4" high. The glass is broken as you can see and will be removed prior to shipping. There is some white paint on one side and nicks and dings, otherwise it is complete and in good condition. I am fairly certain it is Globe Wernicke, possible Library Bureau or another famous maker from the 1910 era. The unique thing about this set is the size- by far the largest size sectional bookcase we have ever seen. The sections all measures 33" long which is about the normal length but they are all 17" wide and 13" high- much larger than most for those dimensions. It will need some attention and hopefully minor fixing- some of the internal hardware pieces are missing and the scissors and slides will ... moreneed some adjusting. The sections are all in good, solid condition with no cracks or major damage, a few spots of edge chipping to the quartersawn oak veneer but over not bad. All the original knobs are present. The top is fine and solid with a couple ring marks where some previous owner probably had placed a potted plant but I really think these would polish up fine. The base is intact and solid but the finish is very worn, the best thing we can say for the base is it does the job. My 17 photos should show you a fine example of what is being offered. Guaranteed a genuine classic 1910 era sectional elastic barrister bookcase in the desirable quartersawn oak. We are asking for local pickup as this would be very difficult and expensive to ship; I can take it to a local shipping store who offers UPS Ground professional packing and shipping but please be aware it would be very costly with 6 huge boxes. This is an oak Globe Wernicke stacking barrister bookcase with glass. It measures aprox. 32 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" high. It needs to be refinished and maybe a couple of joints re-glued. The piece of 1/4 round trim on the back which holds the glass in place is rough, we provided a close up photo. Otherwise it is in good condition. The is a misson lawyers bookcase from Globe Wernicke. Label says 898 mission oak finish and each of the 4 sections are labeled. I think the finish is fumed oak and is a lovely mission look. 55 inches tall. 11 inches deep and 34 inches wide. 4 sections with a seperate top and bottom. Bottom has a nice drawer. Original finish. Original antique wavy glass. All doors open nicely and have all inside door mechanisms. All hardware is original except for 2 knobs which were replaced at some poit. Lovely matching pair of oak step-back lawyers bookcases. Label says Globe wernicke of London. All doors have bands around each section. And all have brass knobs to open. Each section is labeled with the Globe wernicke label of London. Both bookcases have a drawer in the bottom. Top sections are in excellent condition. Real nice Globe Wernicke Barrister Top and barrister base. Contour top with original bands. Original finish. 34 inches wide. About 10 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches tall for the top. Same for the base but the base is taller. 5-6 inches I guess. This is a rarer size and fits sections that are 9 1/2 deep. Outstanding oak grain. Has a small nick that I photoed. Not major. The top is lovely. The piece of wood that goes across the base has a section that splintered off but is still in good shape. Works fine and is very stable I have a photo of it on a matching base. Up for bid is an extremely nice set of"Globe Wernicke" stackable Barrister bookcases and desk. Standing approximately 5' high as seen in the pictures. Each bookcase unit is 34" wide by 10-1/2" high. This set includes six bookcase units/sections, two drawer and feet sections, two top crown units/sections and a desk unit with key. The desk, hardly used is a bit stiff when laying the door or desktop open and flat, but it does lay flat with pressure while writing, say a note, letter or bill. The bookcases are a size"D-299" I'm told, the most sought after. The legs on the desk are not original, and although replaced some years ago, the finish and how they were attached to the face of the desk and drawer front below, not knowing, you'd never be able to tell. We acquired this piece from a private party, ... morewho said it was her grandfather's, and although she had no interest in the fact it was an antique nor that it did not hold any sentimental value with her, she simply took it and used it some 30-40 years ago, because she needed a place to keep things and a surface to write upon.
