Up for Sale A sturdy. Vintage Globe-Wernicke Co. Mission style Barrister Bookcase from the early 1900's that has been in my family for years. It has three glass doored sections for books(the top section is 8 1/2" high. The middle section is 10 1/4" high. And the bottom section is 12 1/4" high according to the original labels.please see photos provided) The outside dimension of the bookcase is 51"s high. 11 1/4"s deep, and 34"s wide. The glass and the metal mechanism that opens the windowed bookcase sections is all original and in working order. The base has feet. Up for Auction-Antique The Globe-Wernicke Co. Sectional Bookcase. Made in Cincinnati. Ohio. Also called a barrister's bookcase. The bookcase is in overall great condition. Nothing appears to be missing, all hardware is intact and working. Some scratching that comes along with being an antique is present on the top and sides of bookcase. Only flaw is that the 3rd shelf glass on the bottom left is cracked. The glass is still intact but held together with tape to prevent further damage. Also, all tension hinges are in place. All Globe stickers are intact and in good shape. Measurements of bookcase are: 58" tall. 34" wide and 12" deep. Bookcase is actually 6 pieces. The top crown, 4 bookcases and a bottom drawer. Up for your consideration is this very nice antique bookcase I purchased at an estate/consignment auction. It is around 51" high. 34" wide and 11" deep. It has glass pulls which I don't know if they are original or not. The stacks come apart easily and I can't find anything wrong with the piece. It does have a few nicks/scratches but nothing significant. Glass appears to be original. Could use a good cleaning but felt that was better done by the buyer. This is a pickup only but I would be glad to deliver to a shipping company in Cedar Rapids. Waterloo or Dubuque if the buyer contacts the shipper and arranges for the delivery.

This auction is for a beautiful set of 5 stack bookshelves made by the Globe-Wernicke Co in Cincinnati. Ohio. The set is in very good condition and each door opens and works very well. I bought the set about 20 years ago in an antique store so I don't know any actual history, but the hardware and small brass knobs on the doors seems to be original. Each door has beveled glass and the brass strappings on the ends are in good condition. There are labels from the manufacturer on the back wall of each shelf, some more faded than others due to age. The overall height, including the base, is 82 inches. Each case is 11 1/2 inches deep, 34 1/2 inches wide and is 13 1/2 inches high. The set is pictured in my home and as is evident in the photos. This is a Globe-Wernicke Barrister bookcase. Made out of real MAHOGANY. It stands 48" tall by 33" wide. It consists of a top section w/ tag. 3" tall. the next section down also has tag w/ orig. glass that lifts and slides open. Mechanics are perfect. Its 10 1/2" tall. The next section down, has 2 sliding doors w/ glass, one pane is orig. the other looks to have been replaced. There are no tags for this section. And I have looked over 1000's of pictures on the internet and have not seen another like it! With the sliding doors. This section is 24" tall. It also has an adjustable shelf. The shelf is oak. Mission Style original Globe Wernicke Co. Solid Tiger Sawn oak 3 drawer File Cabinet. This is a beautiful piece of furniture made around early 1900's. The cabinet measures 48" tall and 17" width. The 3 interior drawers measure 14 1/2" wide, 11 1/2" tall and depth is 22" and have all of the original hardware. The drawers have a wooden slide to hold files firmly in place. Local pickup only.
