It is in the original old dark ... morereddish brown stain finish. This has four glass doors and plenty of space for books. The overall size is 78 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 60 inches high. The side compartments are 20 inches wide and two shelves are behind each door. The center section is 31 inches wide and has three shelves. The overall condition is good. There are a few minor pieces of molding missing, one keyhole cover is missing, and is in good overall condition for being 130 years old. It has panel sides, carved columns, multi-molded edge on the breakfront and carved pillars. It is an impressive bookcase with a few minor issues. This is a really nice quartersawn oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacked bookcase. This piece was manufactured by the GLOBE WERNICKE Company of Cincinnati. They were competitors of Macey and others. Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. This is a really nice four door quartersawn oak bookcase. When I original purchased this cabinet I thought it was a Danner sliding door bookcase. I am not so sure of that. May have been made by another company but has the same type operation. Two doors on each stackable section slide back and forth. Adjustable shelf in each section. We have refinished this piece and it is in excellent condition with a smooth and even finish. Original wavy glass and also note the brass handles-rather Arts& Crafts style I would say. This auction is for an older Oak bookcase from England. It has both an Art Deco Look to it as well as Arts& Craft overtures. It's a very well made bookcase and quite heavy for it's size. It has a pretty leaded and stained glass door. One of the pieces of the blue glass has some cracks in it. The glass is still tight and intact but the cracks are there. See pictures below. It's a wonderful bookcase for it's age and it's compact size would allow in to go into any room or office. It has held up very well for it's age. Up for auction is this bookcase door off of a old barristers cabinet. I am not sure of the manufacture.frame seems to be in solid condition. This door also has the old wavy glass.wood has a nice patina probably oak. Custom made by a cabinet maker for restoration of an antique barrister type stacking bookcase but was never used. These replacement doors are hard to find in usable condition. Vintage Oak Lawyers Stacking Bookcase Door Glass and Hardware GRM Grand Rapids I sold a vintage mission lawyers bookcase awhile back and the bottom section had been damaged so I sold only the remaining sections. This is the door and hardware that was removed from the bottom unit. It is the glass door that hooks on the sides of the bookcase unit with the hardware for the sides of the bookcase itself. The bookcase it was removed from was oak so this also should be oak. The glass is in perfect condition. No chips or cracks. The knob is not original. The door is in wonderful condition and has the hooks attached on the sides as shown. It measures 32 3/8' X 13½' X 13/16' I did notice that this door is higher than the other ones were and it was on a bottom unit. Another great item in our inventory at this time is this really nice triple door bookcase/ curio cabinet in quarter sawn(tiger oak) and regular grain oak. There are 2 drawers at the base on the left and right with flat glass bookcases above them. Which have applied carvings around the top edges. The middle compartment has a curved glass door with applied carvings around the edges, and a curved wood door underneath with lots of applied carvings and more storage. There is a lovely back splash with delicate applied carvings on the edges, shaped bevel glass mirror with oak beading around the mirror. Here we have a wonderful example of that in this antique bookcase with glass door. The wood used in this bookcase is solid oak and is quite sturdy. Intricate carvings adorn the cornice. These carvings are subtle and appear to be hand done. The oak itself has a wonderful. Medium patina that comes from the passage of time. We purchased it in around Somerset but it could have been made anywhere on the island. It dates back to around 1940. The single glass door of this bookcase locks with an included key. Inside are four adjustable oak shelves. These shelves adjust with a brass pin system and are about 12.25″ deep inside. A brass pin system system is a series of holes on all four corner of the bookcase that you insert brass pins into which the shelf rests on. The shelves are quite visible through the glass. Making this bookcase a wonderful display piece. The bun feet are fitted with antique casters that have porcelain wheels. This bookcase has survived the years with little to no wear and is in excellent condition. It is sturdy. The lock functions easily, and the shelves are strong. This is a Globe-Wernicke Barrister bookcase. Made out of real MAHOGANY. It stands 48" tall by 33" wide. It consists of a top section w/ tag. 3" tall. the next section down also has tag w/ orig. glass that lifts and slides open. Mechanics are perfect. Its 10 1/2" tall. The next section down, has 2 sliding doors w/ glass, one pane is orig. the other looks to have been replaced. There are no tags for this section. And I have looked over 1000's of pictures on the internet and have not seen another like it! With the sliding doors. This section is 24" tall. It also has an adjustable shelf. The shelf is oak. This is certainly a very fine quartered quarter sawn oak Danner bookcase. Interesting sliding door bookcase(works perfectly) which we have refinished with a smooth and even finish. Danner bookcases were made in Ohio in the early 20th century. This model has the original leaded glass windows on the top section and the original plain glass windows in the bottom section. The design of these bookcases were much like a barrister bookcase in that each section'stacks' on top of the lower one; made for easy moving. Etc. Each side has original adjustable shelves. It measures 53 3/4" High to the flat top and 65 3/4" to the top of the back splash. It is 38 1/2" Wide and 12 3/16" Deep. The interior measures 9: deep. The shelves are adjustable. The back splash with the mirror is removable. The beveled mirror is original and it's reflectivity is getting'fuzzy' But still reflects and is useable.
