I don't know if it is solid wood, what type of wood, or veneer but it looks like solid wood. There is a chip on the top I tried to picture, and one of the bottom pins slipped up and came unattached, I reattached it but it comes undone, it could be easily fixed, also one wood peg needs re-gluing but is not broken There are scratches where this was probably went for some time without proper fixing. There is one dark mark that is perhaps and old burn but It blends into the dark wood. Rare Antique Gateleg Table with Up and Over Leaf
I've had to rearrange my studio and no longer have room for this fabulous table. It is rectangular. 50" x 36" when fully open. One leaf folds down, the other up and over. It has two small drawers. You can put the table against a wall and leave one leaf down, the other up, for a truly unique, upscale antique look in an entryway or foyer. It also has a beautiful gold painted leaves that look almost like an inlay. This table has been well cared for over the years. It has no deep scratches. Full disclosure: It is missing one caster on one of the butterfly wings, but is fully functional without it.

I have a lovely sturdy gate leg side center drop leaf occasional table. Am not sure of kind of wood but believe grain appears to be maple. The turned legs are in excellent condition. Table top has a one-inch rough area which I have tried to show in up-close photo. The drop leaf has had a repair which also in shown in close up photo- Over all a charming piece and when leaf is dropped fits beautifully against a wall. This was my Mother-in-laws-had it for all the years I knew her but do not know any history on it. If you have any questions I will be happy to do my best to answer. Very unusual gateleg table. Was made years ago by a furniture manufacturer in Virginia-I can't make out whole stamp-but never assembled and no finish put on it. I finished it and assembled it and now it's simply gorgeous-all the charm of an antique-it is pretty old-with a gorgeous finish applied to raw wood. Two nice drawers. One on each side. If you know gatelegs, you know it closes up to a tidy size, 12" wide in this case. Table is 44" long. Each leaf is 16 1/2" wide. The whole thins is 45" when open and 30" high. I love the size of the boards on both drop leaves and the top. the castors slip on to the bottom of the legs and when you lift the table they 2 will fall off.
