Primitive Blue Green Painted Foot Locker Small Tool Chest Trunk 4H Lift Top Folk
Painted pine primitive six-panel trunk or foot locker. This piece has a layer of blue paint over green paint and has a 4-H logo stencilled on the lift top. Sturdy construction with dovetail corners and applied molding around the bottom and iron braces at the corners. Beautiful stamped metal handles have been attached to the side. Brass key surround at the front lock. Unsure of exact age- the trunk itself probably dates from the 1800's. But its most recent paint job has to have been after 1910, when the 4-H logo was created. It may have been built as a tool chest and then repurposed for tack. Overall. This piece is in very good condition, although there is significant wear to the paint and some wear and minor damage to the wood itself. Vintage steamer/military foot locker trunk- Samson
You are viewing a vintage. Steam/military, foot locker trunk. It is in a military olive green color and has brass clamp over latches on the front with a locking center latch. The latch will close but is loose and I have no key. There is a leather handle underneath the center latch.It has metal side handles and is trimmed around all of the edges with metal attached by metal brads. The metal trim is in black with the corners in a brass. There is patina around the brass latches and the corners. The trunk is a painted wood and has 3 ornate hinges on the back top lid. There is a double compartment wood insert that sits on the inside wood corners and the bottom and top inside has a paper lining but the lining has aged and some has flaked off. There are no cracks in the bottom or the insert. There is a bubbled wood area on the front right side about ... more10" long and about an1" to 2" wide. Slight scruffing is on the bottom from use. There is also a manufacture sticker above the front latch that reads SAMSON- Shwayder Bros. Inc. Denver- Detroit. I think this trunk is from the 1930s-40s and was used as a military trunk possibly although there are no military insigna located on it anywhere. But the side handles being metal and the military olive green is consistant with military items. I know that Shwayder Bros. operated in the 1930s-1939 and Samson later became Samsonite in 1965. The trunk measures 16"x12 1/4" x 30" It weighs approximately 21 lbs. It is a nice old trunk and would look great if just cleaned up and even better if restored. if you have any questions please contact me. Vintage Industrial Wood Trunk Crate Case Foot Locker Blanket Chest Toy Box
This wood crate has a nice warm finish and interesting hinges. A latch has been removed from the lid. And there are two handles, one on the end and one below where the latch was. The cabinet has an interior lining that is like corrugated cardboard. The trunk measures 31" L x 19" W x 13" T. The interior measures 28.5" L x 15.5" W x 9 3/4" T with a 1" of additional height inside the lid. This is a nice sized trunk that would work great for storing items, stood on end for a display, or as a low end table. It can be stood on end easily due to the lack of the handle on one end. Antique Seward Steamer Trunk/Foot Locker
This old guy is a rare find in that it still has most of the original teal green color still prevalent. It is 30" Long and 12" Tall and 16" wide. It is metal all around with spots a rust and the bottom has rusted through in two small spots. Both leather straps are intact and they are original. No key for the lock but it will still open without one.

Plate rivited below latch on front says"K K YOSHIDA SEISAKUSHO- JAPAN" I'm not sure how old it is because my internet research conflicted. I found sources that called it a Japanese WW2 item and others that called it a U.S. military item(made in Japan) for use during Korea and Vietnam conflicts. It shows it's age but would polish up nicely. The interior is painted green and there is some paint loss. The tray divider is missing. The leather handles are in good shape. The latches have some play in them and don't lock down tightly. About the lock/hasp: It was locked when I bought it and I successfully picked the lock and removed it. This tongue and grove jointed locker came from a Mr. Howard Buck who was stationed at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island. SC(also had these newspapers inside the trunk) and San Francisco- additional box also included with purchase that has shells and rocks from CA. He was originally from Ohio and lived there after war(letters were addressed to him inside the box) His name is painted on the top of the box as well. I am selling materials from inside separately and these can be purchased separately on eBay if desired. He had newspapers inside from"The Parris Island BOOT" that date 1943-44 as well as trench art and maps that will be sold separately. This box is in very good condition and measures: 22 x 11 x 8 and includes the insert self.
