Description This desk has always been referred to as"Grandpa's writing desk. We have since found out through an online appraisal company that is is an Antique Drop Front Writing Desk" from around 1900-1915. But it will really always be"Grandpa's writing desk" Unfortunately my seller is downsizing their home and grandpa's desk needs to find a new place to go. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. You can see it in the photos. The interior is plain with no shelves, drawers or cubbies. It was made by the Imperial Furniture Company in Grand Rapids, MI, probably in the 1920s- 1930s. The front pulls down to serve as a writing area. With a pen holder mounted inside. It has a removable back so you could put a land line phone in it and the cord would not get in your way, with space for a telephone book and a pad of paper. It looks like it originally had two dividers inside as well as a drawer underneath, but the drawer and one of the dividers is missing.
