Condition: Used Location: Scottsdale, United States Here is a vintage or possibly antique very ornate carved wooden box. It has various Chinese scenes on the top and sides. It has jointed sides and old ... morenailed on bottom piece and feet. The inside is lined with additional wood. Maybe cedar? It has been stained, not sure if the stain is original or if someone has done this more recently. There is an oval stamp mark on the bottom, but I cant' read any of it. It measures about 12" wide, 7 1/4" from front to back and 6" tall. It has some flaws in the stain and there is a cracked piece on the corner of lid that was repaired. The nails holding the bottom piece of brass front latch look to be repalcements as they are more silver colored and not brass like the top ones are. Overall a very sturdy box. It measures 35.5 inches in length. 17.5 inches in depth, 18.5 inches in height. The corners are all dovetailed which makes excellent construction and you know it has good age because it was hand made. It has the original brass lock on front. It is made of camphor wood which is excellent to store wool clothes or linens and will protect them from moths damage. It is highly carved on 5 sides and has the original feet. The finish is original and very clean. It is a very desirable size because it is not a large trunk and would be easy to ship and a good size for a condo unit or at the end of a twin size bed. ANTIQUE Pre 1930s CHINESE CAMPHOR? WOOD TRUNK with CARVED SCENES ON EXTERIOR
Pre 1930's hand carved wood trunk. The wood looks like cedar. But some of the research I've done the same Maker has used champhor wood. The lots of and hinges are original and are brass. the hinges are a little bit shaky and me need some attention. the trunk lid does open and close smoothly. There are several aged splits in the wood, nothing serious. Also one of the four feet is a little loose, it can be fix really easily, but I didn't want to mess with it. The overall condition for its age is good. 37" wide x 18" deep x 19" tall. The wood is all hand carved. The top is rounded. The carvings show people in a village, sailboats, nautical Chinese. VTG Carved Chinese Camphor Wood Hinged Chest Dresser w/ Drawers Original Lock
I have this beautiful hand carved Chinese camphor wood dresser chest. This dresser is a light cherry color. Measures 36 1/4" Wide by 18 1/2" Deep by 40 1/4" Tall. There are 4 drawers 2 long drawers and 2 small drawers. All have original wood liner in the drawers, so of course you can see wear to the wood, slight cracks here and there. The chest on top has a sliding tray which is also removable. The chest is 13" Deep. There is an original sticker from the manufacturer on the chest lid which states that this is a George Zee& Company piece of furniture that was made in Shanghai. This dresser comes with the original lock and key which is in good working condition. There are a few knicks and defects here and there, see photo's. The 6th photo shows the only major damage on this piece of furniture which is just from wear ... moreand being moved around, all cosmetic and can be fixed. This trunk is gorgeous! Its in beautiful condition. It does have a couple of cracks but I read that it should at this age. It smells sooooooo nice! Its about 36" wide by 18" by 18" The carvings are mariners or fishermen.

Ornate Hand Carved Relief Chinese Camphor Wood Trunk Oriental Chest
Stunning hand-carved Chinese camphor wood trunk. This trunk features a stepped top carved with intricate relief panels. Three of the sides also feature cartouches with carved scenes and the front is decorated with a pair of guardian foo dogs. A central brass latch with scalloped edges keep the trunk lid secured and the lid moves on brass hinges. A glass top is included with the piece to protect the top surface and allow the chest to be used as a table. It was not pictured because of the glare it created. Obscuring the details of the chest. The interior of the chest features a large open storage space and a smaller boxed area as well. Overall. This piece is in good to very good condition. There is some wear throughout as well as scratches and a chip to the wood in the front as pictures, but no major breaks or visible repairs. Please examine ... morethe provided pictures carefully.
