One of the front legs has a chip of wood gone from the top outside corner(see pictures) Worn finish looks original; the crest rail is lighter in color from usage or cleaning. Looks like it had metal feet. But only the little holes remain now. No breaks or splits anywhere—this is one solid chair! It would look fabulous with your oak library table or desk. Or as part of a set in the dining room. Measurements: 35 3/4" high at the back 18 3/4" wide Seat is 17 1/2" high and 16 ½” deep Stickley furniture is prized as the best representation of the American Arts and Crafts period of furniture making. These type chairs are becoming more difficult to find especially in numbers. They were often used in government settings such as courthouses. Lawyers and other professionals also seem to appreciate and use them in their offices. However. As they are both functional and practical, they can be used in any area in the home, office, etc. Each chair is solid oak and is tight and sturdy in construction. The finish on each chair is an older finish with a nice patina. The condition of each of the twelve(12) chairs is great with wear appropriate and consistent with the age and use. There appears to be no existing damage or missing pieces to each chair. The construction and design are such so that one is comfortable sitting in them even if for a prolonged time period. These attractive rustic 4 antique vintage Mission style Oak dining chairs have red burgundy leather seat and backs. They have metal studs on the back and the seat. The chairs are very sturdy. They are very strong and solid and can be used for seating. The fabric and finish looks to be original. However. They need repairs. Some chairs have torn leather and one has a stain. The wood on some chairs need repairs. One chair has splintering on chair– see photo. I recently cleaned the wood with wood soap and cleaned the leather with saddle soap. No missing metal studs. Antique Mission Style Arm Chairs (2) Hand Planed,Dowled (Stickley?)
For your consideration is this pair of early century Mission style oak arm chairs. Each chair appears to have been hand made; as the wood shows signs of being hand planed. The joinery is all reinforced with 1/4 dowels(except for corner braces on the under side that I think were added much later. The joints consist of elaborate slat and groove construction. There appears to be a very old repair to one of the legs; but it is rather obvious that it was done by an experienced person(maybe twenty years or so after being made) The chair are very sound. I don't have a picture of the rocker as it is still under a cover but it is just like the chair in the pictures. They are HEAVY real wood and I have enjoyed them immensely as they are so comfy. Sittable and strong. No deep scratches or anything a good polishing would not fix. These have not been refurbished and are as found in the estate. They are very usable but have a little wobble in the legs, easily tightened with a rubber mallet and wood glue. The velvet is complete and without rips or scratches. Awesome looking pair/matching antique/vintage"Mission" style cross-back chairs made from REAL wood(I know. Shocking) and dark green leather-like upholstered seats. These early 1900's set of Haywood Wakefield chairs would be a beautiful addition to any home. It is very rare to find eight matching Haywood Wakefield chairs in such great structural condition. You will notice in the photos the labels are placed on the backs or bottoms of the chairs. These chairs were a great find in old historical church. So there are some insignificant markings/words written in what appears to be chalk, underneath the chairs. For example: music room. Only normal wear seen. Please view photos carefully. Thank you!

3 Arts and Crafts Dining Side Chairs Antique Mission Early California Style
These 3 Arts and Craft/ Mission chairs are a high back 5 spindle type. The seat is curved and has some separation in the seat area as you can see in the images.The chairs measure 42 up the back. 18 seat height and 17 square on the seat. There are no makers marks that I can find. I do not know the type of wood that they are made from, the chairs are very heavy. These chairs have been used and show scrapes, scratches, color wear and such.all you would expect on old used furniture. There is no question that they are hand made as side by side examination show slight differences. There are nails used in the construction and a few are visible on the underside of the seats. If anyone can tell me more about these chairs I would like to hear it, I am not an expert on furniture by any means.
