Too cool. This is pretty sharp. It is a Chair back of some sort. maybe it's a beach chair. Not sure. Hopefully you will know. It is made of a lightweight wood with a woven back, caned. Arms flip up or down with a wooden notch underneath. 5 notches for adjusting, this measures total 21.5in.wide by 25.5in.tall. Back alone- 19in.wide by 2ft.tall. Arms fold down to over 10in. We believe it is maple. Top corners and bottom legs all have light marks and light wear which can all be rubbed out. I won't attempted to clean more than dusting. No tears. Rips or gauging. 4 Mid Century Breuer style caned bent wood chair backs
Fantastic bent wood and cane mid century chair backs. The caning is perfect on 2 of them. Some barely noticeable damage on one of them and some noticeable but not distracting damage on the last one( see last picture) 11" tall x 18" wide. The wood frame is about 1 1/4 thick.

Antique J S Ford Johnson Pressed Spindle Back Desk Chair Caned Bottom Pedestal VGC 100 yrs old. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY The metal adjustment pedestal has the name J.S. Ford Johnson Chicago on two of the pieces. JS Ford Johnson pedestal chair. Ford Johnson Company went out of business in 1913. This chair is at least 100 years old. It has a caned bottom. I replaced this 30+ years ago. It is still in good condition with no holes or broken pieces. Chair swivels and has an adjustment pedestal to lower and raise and adjust how far back you can lean. It has Bassick casters on it. I believe they are original to the chair. Everything on the chair is original but the seat. The chair was refinished about 45 to 50 years ago by my husband. It has some scuffed areas as you will see in the pictures. Some on the back as in picture 2. Near the head crown on the ... moreright as you look at the chair, and some on the legs near where the casters are. Overall look of chair is good. The scuffing does not detract. There is a 1 1/4" split where the right arm attaches to the back. just above and to the right of top screw) As you can see in picture 5 there is a screw holding part of the pedestal assembly to the chair bottom. I think the hole for this screw was too large to secure it from the bottom. So someone made a hole on the top and secured it that way. Although the chair was caned when we got it, I think it may have had a leather seat originally. I am not sure because I have tried to find a picture of this chair and haven't had any luck yet. I do know cane and rush was used by this company. They were quite well know for quality furniture as you will find if you search their name. There is a beautiful pressed in pattern of what seems to be the face of a king with a crown on it. Also there is scroll work and decorative trim. Spindles on arms and back. Chair works well. It sort of has an Art Nouveau look to it. The settee is about 49" wide(seat itself is 42" and 37" tall. Both pieces have the Thonet paper label as well as the stenciled"Thonet Austria" The caning is hand woven not machine made. It would be very costly to have all this caning done today. Not sure if the caning is original but it is in very good condition; the last picture shows a few very minor breaks in the chair seat. Back when furniture was made to last. This chair seems to have had quite a busy life. So much so that the caned seat wore out. It has been recaned and has a wonderful patina that has been preserved and not refinished. This chair is extremely comfortable and solid. The recaned seat will last for years to come. Derby. Knowlton and Co. was established in Gardner in 1863. Several years later, Mr. Derby bought out his business partners. In 1880 he established P. Derby& Co. By 1897 P. Derby& Co. was listed as the second-largest chair manufacturer in the country. It had branches in Boston, New York and Chicago. The company specialized in cane furniture, but also made traditional wooden tables and chairs. It went out of business in 1935. This chair still has the label on the underside of the seat. A simple country style Hitchcock chair. The paint has worn off the back splats but is still present on the front spreader. The caning is in excellent condition. Measurements: Back height 33" Front seat ht. 18" Depth 16" Width 13" The chair is fastened together with dowels and maybe glue. No nails are visible so they probably were not used in making the chair. I'm estimating the age and the era. Antique Child's 1900-1920 dark wood tone caned-seat Victorian chair
This is a really pretty toddler's chair. It is perfect for display of a larger doll or teddy bear. Or just by itself. Measurements are approximately 22" high(chair back) by 11.5" wide(seat at widest point) by 12" deep. The seat is about 12" high. The only scratch I found was one about 1/2" long on the seat at the front. The caning is in excellent condition, but I do not know if it is original or has been replaced. I estimate it was made between 1900-1920, but it could be older. I think it was American or English made.

At some point in the history of this chair the footrest was reinforced due a crack(see photos) The reinforcement is with steel on top and bottom of footrest. Brass hinges were used where chair folds. Brass hardware is an indicator that this chair was used on an ocean going vessel. I tried to show all features. Good and bad, in the photos. Stickley Caned Rocking Chair #357
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a gorgeous antique rocking chair in very good condition. The rocking chair has never been refinished. Repaired or worked on in any way. We purchased this from an antique store in the early 1990s and it has sat as an accent piece in our home for years. It does not get much use. The caned weave upholstery is in very good condition and is still very strong. There are a few scratches where the rocking legs meet the floor(from normal use) and some fading on the arms.

Antique Spindle-back Cane Seated Chair This beautiful Antique Spindleback Cane-Seated chair is in excellent condition. This lovely chair is from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The wood appears to be a dark stained oak. The five spindles of the chair are in great condition. The upright supports and the three rails of the chair are detailed with multiple vertical lines. These vertical lines are simply done& enhance the beauty of this chair. The upper rail has a piece of beautiful burled veneer in the center. This veneer has a slight damage in the upper left-hand corner, that appears to have been glued into place some time in the past. The front legs are delicately turned. The two front stretchers are turned as well. The remaining stretchers are simple in design. The two uprights are. Of course, one long piece of wood, however they are ... morenot straight. They are arched giving this antique chair more charm. See pics) The cane seat is hand-caned. The cane was hand woven line by line. Someone sat for hours creating this pattern using threads of Cane and inserting them one by one across the chair seat. It is NOT a piece of machined cane that is inserted into a groove of the seat. You can see the underside of the chair where the cane pieces come through the holes and interlock. See pics) The seat itself is also uniquely designed. The front part of the seat is carved a bit more narrow than the back of the seat. There is also a upside down pyramid wooden design below the seats adding more detail to this antique chair.
