Vintage Steel Metal Stacking Barrister Book Case 2 Section & Base Mid-Century
Must pick up here. That means no shipping. Too much time.Trouble and money to pack them up properly. You get 2 sections with glass covered doors that swing up and then slide back into the case out of the way and the base they set on. Glass is good, doors work nicely. The one is missing a nob but a trip to the hardware store/home center and you can find something close to it. The top one is missing a locking tab that inserts into it. It does have one. These are removable and one you get weight in them just about unnecessary as they set down inside each other with the lip you see on top. Each section you see is 33" wide by 13" deep by 14 3/4" tall on the front and sides but 15" to the top of the lid. Assembled with the base and 2 sections it is 37 3/4" tall. Paint is not original. The interior white paint is still pretty ... morenice, outside green shows wear/loss. If you would like to pick up my zipcode is 17363. I am 1 hour south of Harrisburg Pa, 1/2 hour south of York Pa, 1 hour north of Baltimore Md. 1 3/4 hours from Washington DC. 10 minutes off of Exit 4 of Interstate 83 in Pa. Gunn Barrister Bookcase. GRM) Grand Rapids Michigan Gunn Furniture Co. Mission Barrister(1899-1913) SOLD) This Gunn Barrister Bookcase is fully functional and ready to add class to any living area. The bottom shelf is missing it's glass other than that all is there. I kept my dvds on the bottom shelf and it made much easier to take them out if glass wasn't there. Later when moving the glass was broke. All other pieces are in tack and original to my knowledge. I say that because it's the old style wavy glass. So most likely original. Also most of the red GRM triangular logo located on the back is there. See pics for details. This logo represented the Furniture Manufacturer’s Association of Grand Rapids and was only used from 1899 to 1913 Gunn stacking bookcases were distinguished by the lack of external side bands. The doors were ... morehooked on slides and with the aid of a roller bearing. NOT the scissor-style assembly found on the Globe-Wernicke. THIS IS A TRULY BEAUTIFUL 3 STACK OAK LAWYERS OAK GUNN BOOKCASE. THERE ARE MINOR SCRATCES JUST FROM NORMAL USE. NOTHING MAJOR. THE VERY TOP HAS A LITTLE OF THE OAK VENEER POPING UP NOTHING MAJOR.
